Great breakfast. I had The Haystack 2 eggs biscuits and gravy over hash browns all piled up. Very tasty. Waitress was fantastic, very friendly kept my cup full of hot coffee and generally made the whole place feel great. I will be back!

I really like this place! Simple, tasty, quaint, and inexpensive. It’s like a hole in the wall but it has a nice diner feel inside and you can tell they try to make it feel like home with plants, frames/pictures, and a tv. Food is not the best I’ve ever tasted but they have a large menu and what I’ve tried is pretty tasty! I always get the southern breakfast with hash browns or home fried potatoes. Their home fried potatoes are seasoned well and the onions and green peppers they cook it with give it a great taste! Grits are good, usually just add a little salt to make it perfect. The Cajun sausage is super delicious and well cooked. Biscuits are small but still have a good taste. They also have good coffee! The service is definitely good too. They are not usually busy in the mornings on the weekends when I go but even when I went last time and the were a bit busy, they never let my coffee cup go empty without asking me if I wanted a refill. Best part? You can order so much for two people and still stay under or around 20 $. Definitely one of my go to spots for breakfast.

Probably the best breakfast spot in Montclair. Really good prices for high quality food.

First time i came i loved it. Had the ultimate omelet. Best ive ever had. Very friendly and attentive staff. Second time i came a little less pleased. I had the pancake combo. It took a while for my food to come out despite it being kinda empty. They also gave me bacon when i ordered sausage but i let it slide since the bacon was delicious. The pancakes came with a ball of butter close to being the size of a ice cream scoop. But i will give this place one more try as i continue to search for my «place to hang on saturday mornings and get my breakfast grub on after the graveyard shift»

Everything was burnt. From the pancakes to the toast. Service was very slow. Menu too big.

I’ve come here regularly since they relocated to this location. The ham and cheese omelette is the best. I love this place. About the only thing they should change is add a soda fountain. All soft drinks are served in 12-ounce cans with a large glass of ice. Refills and to go would be nice.

The service was horrible. Ming which is the«manager» and waitress was extremely rude when we tried to order a vegetable omelet. We wanted a regular vegetable omelet with diced chicken on top and she insisted that it was impossible to do that. As a customer we understand obviously that chicken cost more and she was treating us like we were stupid. We didn’t care for the extra charge… ATALL! She was practically laughing at us, because she wasn’t understanding what we were saying. I am so so upset I will not ATALL be eating here again. She was completely rude which is unfortunate because others praise her customer service and that is not what we got. On top of that she speaks over people. It’s her way or no way, clearly the customers best interest it not something they care for.

As I continue my hunt for the best eggs florentine in the inland empire, this place falls short. Excellent hollandaise sauce, I sub the mushroom for tomato. The spinach needs to be fresh not canned. I can taste the difference. The price point was excellent, may be back to try the pancakes, supposed to be good, uses fresh local ingredients for the strawberry compote.

Lots of selections for breakfast. You can get a 2 egg omelet or 4 egg. 2 egg perfect size. Nice to not have to pay for big plate of food you never finish.

Went in on a Saturday and had breakfast. It was empty. First initial reaction is cleanliness of the location. Needs some good cleaning especially the walls and new paint. We were greeted right away and had great service. The food was good and price was good. There was a weird smell at one point like sewers smell not sure where that came from. Overall prices are good and food but not as clean as I would like.

Excellent food! Their hash browns are crispy and flavorful and their omelettes delicious! I really recommend this place. Note that on weekends they serve only breakfast. If you want lunch come during the week. Their prices are good also. I got a waffle, 3 eggs, hash browns, and 4 sausages for 7.95. Service wasn’t the greatest only because the food took ages to get here, but they were busy. Definitely worth checking out!

Nice mom & pop breakfast & lunch place. Ordered pancake combo — 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, bacon for me and hash browns cooked crispy just right. Service very good. Server brought my order under 10mins. Coffee cup filled before half way.

Atmosphere: Casual. House like diner, smalls, booth seating. Ordered Items: Apple crepes, Chorizo scrambler, breakfast bruschetta(I think that’s what its called) and peach pie with ice cream. Popular Café is a cute hole in the wall, you wouldn’t expect this mom and pop stop to be soo great but it is. The whole experience was great. They have a ton of choices to choose from. We went for breakfast and received exceptional service along with great food! The portions are good sized, along with great prices, I don’t think anything is over $ 10. The crepes are amazing, highly highly recommend trying one if you’re in the area.

Just finished breakfast here and it was delicious! I had the cowboy breakfast which is a waffle/pancake/French toast, eggs, the crispy hash browns, and ham/sausage/bacon. The waffle was one of the best I have had at a restaurant and the hash browns were to die for! They were crisp without being burnt. The biscuits and gravy were also delicious. They are small but perfect as a side to a larger meal. The staff was very friendly and kept my coffee filled. I will be back soon.

The Good: Great place to relax for breakfast or lunch. Casual atmosphere. Good food. Feels like a spot that should be in Orange County. Great servers. Good attention and genuine smiles. The Bad: They close VERY early. The Ugly: Being very hungry and looking for a good, casual local place and finding out they closed. The Summary: I love this place. It’s quaint. Not a lot of people so the wait is minimal. It’s quiet. There are TV’s and porch seating which allows DOGS!!!+++

Yikes! I have no idea why I decided to try this dump… but I will never be back I only had coffee, and that was only due to the fact that it was brought to me before I could leave Then, the wanted to to charge me a $ 2 fee to use my debit card This place is dirty and disgusting
