I’ve been here before I liked there service so I came back the older man helped me he was nice enough to come to my home down the street and check my car because it wasn’t turning on he found the problem right away my car turned on and we drove it to his shop to fix the air flow meter sensor charged me 256.00 for parts and labor I thought he was pretty honest man till I paid with my credit card and he charges 10.00 to use credit card which that was unbelievable so make sure you bring cash if you come here unless you don’t mind paying $ 10.00

The son is really nice and helpful, but the dad (the owner) does not let you speak if you think otherwise.
I went to them for a problem my car was having. He said it would be $ 200 in total for the whole service, I gave them the green light to fix it. But turns out they looked up the wrong part which meant my part was more expensive. They never told me it was going to be more expensive he just went ahead and got the other part and installed it in my car. When it was time to pay I owed $ 317! I asked «why!!“and he said because the part was wrong and they gave me the wrong price, he went off on me saying how he did everything he can to please me and how he has a Masters from SD and idk what else. He wouldn’t even let me explain why I was upset. He could’ve warn me saying I gave you the wrong price but here’s the new price would you still like us to do the service. Thankfully I had the $ 317 but that was waaaaaaaay over my budget and it was already installed in my car so I had to pay –_​– he knew what he was doing. Try not to come here because they will try to overcharge you any way possible ! The only reason why I came here was because my mechanic was closed and I NEEDED to fix my car asap or it would be completely damaged.
And to top it off they didn’t even fix the problem ! I had to go back to my mechanic because the car was still having problems, they didn’t fix anything. «Metro auto service» is the place to go people ! Eric is the best ! Five J’s will take your money!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! I showed up having an electrical problem n this guy assured me he’d solve the problem. He began to tell me he had a «Masters» in mechanics n had been doing this for years.
So being new to the area, I gave him a chance to work on my vehicle. Hoping id find someone honest n reliable. EEEEEECCCCKKKKKK!!! Try again !!!
He called me & said my vehicle was done (an hour ago) n ready to be picked up. He didn’t know I lived within a block n showed up immediately afterward. Surprised… he was charging me as soon as I walked in. I asked for the part he replaced n he gave it to me. It was still somewhat warm in the palm of my hand. Hmmmmmm???
He burnt it. He told me it caught on fire when he started my vehicle as soon as I left. That was 2 – 3 hours prior to the call I got to tell me my vehicle was ready. RED FLAG IMMEDIATELY !!! So when I started asking him questions about the part he handed me, he no longer wanted to talk to me. He walked away upset n yelling n proceeded to work on another vehicle that was there. He ignored me the rest of the time I was there.
The part he gave me still hard the part # on it. So I logged on the Ford website to verify it. Turns out the part he returned to me belonged to Ford Explorer. I don’t have an Explorer.
Enough said. To be fore warned, is to be fore told.

Came here looking to get my AC FIXED and the owner added free on. I left happy thinking it was fixed then the next day my AC was back to blowing out hot air!
I went the next day and he just added more free on. I told him that just adding more wasn’t going to do anything. He proceeded to tell me that my AC compressor was leaking and that to fix it was going to cost me $ 400!!! Idk why he didn’t tell me that the first time!
I went off to get a 2^nd opinion and they said the compressor was fine! And that to fix my problem it would be $ 120!
Never going back to 5J’s again!!! People I recommend that you dont waste your time here. I truly believe that all he saw was a «dumb» female who he could make an easy $ 400 off.

I have came here twice for a smog check and both times their service was quick and swift, the young handsome smog technician was very polite and knowledgeable in his expertise, the price was up front, no hidden charges like some of the other smog shops in montebello, I would definitely recommend this shop;D

WARNING! This guy is a thief. I called about changing my serpentine belt. He told me it would be $ 50. I took it in and while I was there he told me it would be $ 195. I told him he quoted me $ 50 over the phone, so I told them I would go somewhere else and he charged me $ 45. Avoid this place at all cause.

Goodbye excruciatingly long waits at the dealer and their ridiculous fees.

This place is somewhat of a mixed-​bag for me. The owner Jonathan is a really nice guy and has lots of interesting stories to talk about if you have time and want to make a wonderful new friend.
As far as the work goes, I’ve had a couple of jobs done and out of about 5 or 6 jobs, I’ve had to come back 2 times because the problem wasn’t resolved. So not too bad.
I was also referred by the owner to a really good and affordable body shop when I needed one (and I would recommend this place myself), Felix Body Shop
Overall, if I’m on a budget and I need a quick fix (or if Ken’s Tires can’t fix it), then I give 5J’s a visit.

Dont waste your time coming to this place. He may have a doctrines in mechanics but hes a lousy unorganized person. He did some work on my car and assured me he’d do it right. The same day i took my car home the problem was still there. I came back to him explaining it was still there and he started being rude and yelling. So please dont come to this guy. He doesnt know what he is doing. He knows nothing. So trust me on what im saying people. He’s very unprofessional.

i have taken several cars here for various issues such as brakes, alignment, transmission and tires. The guys got good service he also is superficially qualified; i mean he’s got a doctorines degree in auto-​mechanics. so I gave him a try and have been happy as well as made him my new mechanic:)
