Beef broccoli and orange chicken tasted old and flavorless :-/​I was so disappointed. Even the chow mein and rice looked colorless. :-(

This place sucks big-​time too much MSG. Plus the counter people are very rude and stupid

Food was horrible, Rice was mushy chow mein no flavor chicken smelled like smoke. Hadn’t been here in years but won’t be going back.

Even though my wife and I really like the hot and sour soup here this place has been really disappointing when coming for takeout. They will hardly have any food to pick from and today was the last straw. The spicy chicken smelled bad and tasted even worse. We wanted to take the food back but we were exhausted from work and trusted Golden Wok to have dinner for us. It’s disappointing that they let us down. We will not be returning.

The quality is bad. The noodles are all soggy and gross. The wonton soup had a weird aftertaste. I would recommend to drive another mile west on Beverly and go to the Chinese place by LA fitness.

Worst Chinese food I ever had. Didn’t bother looking it up since it was crowded, worst mistake. Trust me do not waste your time and money. My wife and kids were disgusted.

Don’t eat here ! I was really wanting Chinese food so I decided to come here and the rice tasted off I was confused on the chow mein basically my favorite part was the Sprite I drank

I only eat here because my girlfriend loves it here, but even then I would not recommend coming to eat here. The pork and orange chicken tasted like they’ve been cooked and cooked again. The rice, as well as, the chow mein had no flavor at all!
If you want good Chinese food, try ‘Golden Bowl’.

This place isn’t too bad for trying it out for my first time. This restaurant gives you the option to takeout like a topical day food chinese restaurant but it also gives you the option to dine in with proper plating and waiter/​waitress taking your order. Waitress i had had friendly and didn’t mess up any of our orders so that’s always good. The only cons i would give about this place is that it needs a face lift or a new paint job. Place looks old and a little dirty. Also i had a wonton soup that i wasn’t too crazy about. Wontons could of been WAY better!

I’ve never been to a Chinese place that has both the takeout window like a Chinatown express, and an actual restaurant. I saw this place online on Eat.24 and decided against ordering and decided just to go get up found out the prices were cheaper for a dinner there without the soup then ordering for it with a soup. Let me tell you the food from the take-​out counter is lukewarm tasted like crap, and the entrées were smaller than what you would get on a kids meal at panda express. Period I actually ordered chicken fried rice off the menu and it took about 10 minutes for them to make it fresh but it was good however I think the chicken wasn’t completely cooked. In the building the two item combo is cheaper than the dinner that’s advertised when you take out the meat 24 and is not the same half-​and-​half with you to entrées wasn’t tasty. Can’t recommend this place this was worse than anything I’ve ever eaten before the rice was like saffron rice mixed with vegetables and was not tasty in fact is very dry the noodles seemed like they were old the beef and broccoli was actually pretty good at least the broccoli was it was fresh it was tasty broccoli didn’t care about the temperature to be filed with the sweet-​and-​sour chicken was so much dough not enough sauce and the sauce wasn’t sweet there was no fruit onions peppers with it at all that’s not what I’m used to with sweet-​and-​sour anything. The service is lackluster and frankly the place does not seem like a place I want to go back to I cannot recommend this place. The prices are exorbitant even to be cheap and they staff just seems so confused and I really don’t know how to stay in business. It’s a shame that I walked down the pathway to Baskin-​Robbins had them handpeck a quart and that took about 10 minutes and my food still wasn’t ready from the back kitchen well the chicken fried rice I mean

$ 7 for a meal with two entrees. Portions are huuuuuuge — it’ll last you for two meals. The food is average. I really liked the fried rice & chow mien, though!
This place is decent. It’s just your standard Chinese fast food place. My only qualm is that $ 7 is a little pricy? I mean, compared to other places, $ 7 is a lot when you can get the exact same portions & taste for $ 5 at other places. I could understand if the food was supremely better than the other places, but it’s not. It tasted the same.

Stay away from this place. Typical terrible cheap over cooked everything. Fried rice isn’t fried, chow mein is gross!!! Servers are rude and pretend not to speak English. .Gross !

Food is decent and portions are generous. You don’t come here for service people the tables are complimentary

Service was embarrassing. I thought with the ready-​made food counter that it was order and sit wherever you like. But they handed me my food in a to-​go bag and never asked me if I wanted to dine in or not. Having never been here before, I didn’t know how things were done especially as there was an entire section of tables empty where I ordered my food at the counter. It wasn’t until I sat down that I saw the other side of the restaurant had diners with ceramic plates. Again, nobody asked nor offered to show me the way. This wouldn’t have been a big deal if it ended there. On my way to the bathroom, I had my trash in hand and went searching for a trash can when a worker told me I had to go outside to throw my trash away. Are you kidding me??? How rude can you be? She could have righted this by offering to take the trash from me, especially as there was no can readily available.
Food was a 3, service a 0 so I am being generous with a 2 star rating. Based on service, I’ll never return.

I used to come here all the time when I was younger because they had really great coupons on the back of Vons receipts. I love the tea that they bring you to your table in the tiny tea cups. It’s a nice authentic touch to what could be considered American Chinese, for the most part. The food is great and moderately priced. I would definitely recommend it if you want Chinese other than Panda in the Montebello area.

The only reason I come here is because my gf every now and then craves Chinese food. The food tastes a bit old every time, I don’t know when is the best time to come. Because there are tables and since you get walked to your table when you want to eat inside one would assume that an employee would every now and then check on you but it’s not like that and on top of that my server every time has never been in a good mood. This restaurant might as well be located in Southside Montebello because the customer service is pretty shitty.
Once you are seated the server will hand you a menu and walk away, she’ll come back and ask if you’re ready to order. You order your plate and drink and that’s it she won’t come back. I’ve had to get up and walk to the front to get a refill on my water or soda. It’s experiences like that which make me try and avoid this place altogether but the gf sometimes wants Chinese food and I tag along. Her standards are obviously lower than mines Cus she rated this place five stars lol

I was craving chinese food bad. I stopped in here and they seem to be ok. I probly wont go back. The service was good but the food was not. The noodles were tasteless and the chicken was decent. Not much to say about it really …

I love dining in here but if you plan to take it to go, they don’t sell small side items of the entrees. Just the soups. Free tea and mushu pork and honey chicken are my favorite.

this location has been here since I was a 3 foot little girl. I like eating here when I crave chinese food oh for sure I recommend the chicken fried rice :) the reason I give it 3 stars, the fried rice they have on display doesn’t taste so fresh like its been sitting for a while (it probably has) and the waitress only came by our table 3x in my whole dining experience there 1. to take our order after being seated. 2. when I called her over for a refill on my drink 3. to get our check (she was quick on that) it a nice place to eat at just wish they were more attentive.

So I’ve ate here for over 10 years and it is pretty good. Their food is great for their price and they are so generous! I don’t see why people be hating. You guys probably just had too high of an expectation and when it didn’t meet it, you guys thought it was bad. Never walk into a restaurant with high expectations because most of the time you’ll walk out disappointed. Golden Wok has made good food for many years, saying that I’ve ate here for 10+ years! They have really good service! Super nice! The place may look old but it’s because they’ve been there for so Long. They’re good. Trust! :)
