This place was amazing! We got seated right away on a Saturday and the food was great from start to finish! We got Garlic edamame, stuffed mushrooms, seaweed salad, and the bento boxes are so cool how you can choose instead of soup and salad something else! The sushi was very fresh and clean tasting Great experience here for our first visit and being from nor cal!

I’m here at niko sushi with my girlfriend enjoying the sushi. This place has great service thanks to our server alan. We ordered the baked salmon roll and the niko roll is bomb. My girlfriend ordered the bento box with beef teriyaki and I tried it. The Food here Is fire. I think this place needs 6 stars. Thanks alan for great service.

Came here for lunch and ordered to go. Ordered a scallop jalapeño sushi and a jalapeño popper and total came out to be $ 20. There were 8 pieces of sushi and 4 pieces of jalapeño popper. The sushi was not authentic… basically spicy tuna with a piece of scallop and a slice of jalapeño on top, with their sushi sauce, was just okay. The popper on the other hand was really good. Not spicy but flavorful, they removed the seeds of the jalapeño so people who don’t eat spicy can endure it, a good or bad thing depending on the consumer, it was good for me though. Service was decent given they weren’t busy. Won’t be craving this place but will come back if happen to be around the area and feel like a quick sushi fix.

My sushi cravings have been dominated by their Niko Roll! Niko Roll: California Roll rolled with cream cheese, and tempura flaked on the outside. Pretty basic, since I don’t like to eat raw fish! My friend ordered their Fuji Roll(shown in one of the pictures I posted.) and it was actually really good! I never thought I’d like raw fish because the first time I tried it, it felt like a cold wet tongue was slapped onto my tongue and I was eating an animal’s tongue… I’m weird, I know but hey! I gave it another shot! The price point is definitely above cheap! The rolls range from $ 10.95 — $ 13.95 per 8 pieces I believe. The owner told me that the rolls are usually larger than another of sushi place, but they’re the same size as buffet sushi but I guess it’s just more fresh? lol I went on a Wednesday so it was happy hour ALLDAY! I didn’t order any food off the HH menu except for a fruity sangria! BOY! two cups really creep up on you! I chugged both cups while waiting for the food to come out and I was feeling some type of way! hahaha I really enjoyed the service they provided and by checking in on Facebook NOT Unilocal! They give you a free appetizer! I got the mushroom poppers or whatever they’re called… I forgot! haha BTW! Make sure you check your receipt before paying! My two sangrias were suppose to be $ 3.50 each cup but on the receipt it stated $ 4.75 per cup! So they gave me $ 2.00 in cash back… but i’m missing my $ 0.50. I know I know… it’s just 50 cents but I mean I wanted exact change back y’know?! Mehh. that’s okay! Just be careful next time! I think changing up your POS system to follow up with you daily hot deals would make it easier for you guys?! Recommend this place still!(:

What happened to this place? The chicken teriyaki is now literally flavorless. I always have to ask for extra teriyaki sauce. The sushi is without a doubt the worst sushi I’ve ever had. I had their spicy tuna roll last night and it was garbage. The tuna seemed like a paste. Reminded me of high school lunch sushi. They also stopped serving those complimentary Japanese peas or whatever they’re called about a year ago. Been disappointed since. Great lunch special though. $ 7 for a chicken teriyaki plate, comes with rice and salad. That’s all I’ll have from now on. Shinano down the street topped out in the end afterall.

Ok so anybody who knows me will tell you Eric stays away from chain sushi restaurants Like Niko Niko. Well in most cases they would be right, but not in this case however. About six months back my girlfriend wanted to come shopping at the Atlantic square or whatever that plaza’s called. Anyway rather than wait around for two hours and be miserable I came in here and had a beer! The staff was awesome and the chefs were great too! My goal was to watch some baseball have a beer and be on my way well two hours later I’m having some great fresh scallops with fresh wasabi and Sapporo. Always a successful pairing in my book! I got to know Bryan a very accommodating and eager to please sushi chef, who I will continue to come back to this establishment for! That said I must reiterate the entire staff is very accommodating, great food, great atmosphere I always leave happy. keep up the great work guys!

Bleh… ok…not the best or the worst. If you are stuck in modern Chinatown and have a need for sushi then this place will do. The rolls are the size for giants but I guess that is what you get for Americanized sushi place. Rolls that look like they have been put on steroids. Seriously though… an average sushi joint… just tailor your expectations and you will be ok when you leave.

Loved it! Absolutely fell in love with this place. I’m not a fan of sushi and my sister wasn’t either until she came here. She told me about this place and I didn’t want to come, but she said they sell other food if I didn’t want to try the sushi. This restaurant is located in a shopping center with a lot of stores next to it. They have a decent sized parking lot. It was actually packed when we came, but a car was pulling out. So we parking right in the front. We went inside and a hostess assisted us. She gave us a table right away. The restaurant had a lot of tables available. We came during happy hour and the waiter gave us two menus. One with the specials and another normal one. I ordered the yaki udon with a piña colada. My sister ordered the California rolls and my husband the fried california rolls. I had never heard of fried sushi before. The yaki udon was so good. That was the first time I tried it and it was amazing. to me it was basically thick noodles with chicken and veggies. I shared with my sister and husband and they really liked it too. My sister forced me to try her california rolls with a little bit of ginger. I took a bite and guess what? I really like it. It was yummy. I guess after all I do like sushi. I also tried the fried california rolls and they were good too. I just felt like they were a bit sweat. Just a bit. They were still good. The piña colada was bomb. It didn’t have a strong taste of alcohol, but I sure felt it. On the menu it stated it was $ 9, but it came out to be $ 7. The waiter would check up on us every chance he got. He would refill our cups and he would ask if everything was fine. He also asked if we needed anything. I loved the restaurant décor. It looked so elegant and I love the booths. They were very comfy. They also have a section that looks like it is for a private party. I totally recommend this place to sushi and Japanese food lovers. It is a beautiful inexpensive restaurant with yummy food. They also had the A/C on blast on a really hot day(big plus).

Don’t know if the owner reads this or not, with all. due respect your«person in charge» Bogie or something like that is bogus, we’re regulars at your restaurant and get great service from sushi bar Brian, Omar and Ben. When my babe asked her for half a dessert and that we would pay full price she refused to do it. Idk how many Unilocalers come to your restaurant but to us it matters. Her demeanor was less than professional, both my babe and I are educated professionals and expect to be treated as paying customers, we’ll be back but if she’s there we won’t deal with her, we know nothing is made at c ustomers request.

So my brother came from out of the US to visit me and wanted to eat good Japanese food(sushi, sashimi, nigiri etc.) Yes, i should have taken him to Little Tokyo but we were in a hurry so having a decent experience the previous time we decided to give it another shot. We felt it was just ok. Not sure what happened but the sushi and the sashimi were not impressive. I will not come back again, unless i have a discounted coupon. We were a party of 8 adults 4 children and we ended up spending 485 dollars. For that amount i want to leave the restaurant very happy and satisfied, but we were not.

I went here for dinner last night with friends. I got the salmon and eal hand rolls and was absolutely in heaven! The last time I had sushi this tasty was at Osaka Ya in Arcadia years ago. The chef at Niko Niko must be the reincarnation of my beloved sushi chef. ;-) I’m definitely going to be back!

$ 15.50 for a very tiny piece of this? I asked the lady it the same size as the one with combo she said it’s bigger. Really??? Overpriced! Zero star if possible

The good: + Cheap prices, especially for their Happy Hour promotions. + large portion cut rolls The negative: + negative service. It started out well, then it quickly deteriorated. Brought out some wrong orders and they forget to bring one of our orders. + the sushi cut rolls would literally fall apart as you bite into one. I don’t know if its the chefs fault or their rice/seaweed consistency. I have had grocery store sushi that was better-made than the ones at Niko Niko. I don’t think I can eat here again during their Happy Hour prices, much less their regular-priced hours.

I was actually afraid to come here for the longest time because I’ve seen many locations pop up so quickly. It would be a fly by night type of sushi place where quality is not the top priority. I have attempted to come here a few times before but too close to closing time. One of my good friends I used to work with called me during the day. «Hey, let’s have dinner. I have a meeting in the area and can meet you there after you get off of work.» Time is now set, just need to cut through traffic to get there on a weekday. Walked right in and was directed to the table as if they knew I was expected. Looking over the menu and knowing I’m probably the only one that would go old school with sushi, I had to tone it down a notch and go for the rolls to share. Our eyes were fixated on a few items. Alaska Roll sounded really good. Asparagus, salmon, real crab, avocado all rolled with soy paper. Oishi Roll is one without rice. Yes, without rice! It is with tuna, yellowtail, spicy tuna, crab, avocado all wrapped with cucumber cut into a roll. All topped with masago and scallions. Last roll we ordered is called Sushi Blossom, another roll without rice. Thick slices of yellowtail, tuna, albacore, salmon, wrapping a generous portion of crab meat and topped with radish shreds, masago, then scallions. Edamame and miso soup to start, this filled our bellies as we did more catching up. After this initial visit, this is a place I would go back to again with a few friends. Who’s ready to go?

I really love the service here and after trying more different types of rolls i am discovering they have some pretty great sushi here. I just wish the sushi was more consistent and comes exactly as expected each time: For example, i LOVE their veggiepillar roll, but today when I got it i was utterly disappointed. The last time I ordered it: It was beautifully presented, colorful, with healthy portions of pickled carrots and avocado that made up most the roll… Today, clearly another sushi chef prepared it and it was SO unappetizing looking, and they stuffed the roll w/mostly the cheap stringy clear veggie, and barely any carrots or other veggies. DEFINITELY not worth $ 8. :(I am going to have to ask them to try to make it better so it wont happen in the future again. I’m going to include some pictures and you will see why I was so disappointed the second time i ordered the same roll and the chef cut corners and stuffed it with cheaper ingredients. :(

Service: The usual, no complaints. Price: The quality did not equate to their pricing of the items. Food: 1.Tempura: The vegetables were perfectly crisp and delicious, but my co-worker said that her shrimp tempura tasted old. Another con is the price I think they charge like $ 10 – 11 for the large size, when you can get it cheaper at other Japanese restaurants. 2. Garlic Albacore: I loved the fact that there was garlic slices to accompany the roll with, but I was not impressed with the quality of the albacore. The albacore tasted old and fishy. 3. Monkey brain roll: This was a baked roll. The base is a california roll with some cooked salmon wrapped around it. On top, was some sort of meat or tofu, I am not too sure but it did not taste good. It actually had a weird aftertaste to it. 4. Baked Lobster Roll: This roll was the best out of the bunch, but it was drenched in EEL sauce! How can you truly enjoy your sushi if all you can taste it the sweet sauce. Consider just drizzling the sauce over the sushi, it will probably taste better. Final Verdict: I will probably pay this place a visit again for their HH, but I will never pay for anything full price here again. It really is not worth it. Spent about $ 60 for just mediocre food, definitely not a happy camper!

We stopped here for a late lunch the other day and had a great experience! We were there during happy hour 3−6pm and ordered from the happy hour menu, they had a bunch of rolls for $ 2-$ 3, great deal and great quality! We wanted to watch the basketball game so they changed the channel for us, the staff was really friendly and very attentive. The sushi was really good, we had some of the appetizers too and they were great! They had ramen burgers on the menu that I’d really like to try next time. The atmosphere in this place is great, beautiful orchids all over, cool artwork and a huge sushi bar where they prepare your food right in front of you. This is a place I will definitely be heading back to. Some of the other reviews say there were long waits for the food but when we were there, the service was great and we got our food really fast. UPDATE: Above is my previous review but after a recent trip to Niko Niko we discovered they’ve changed their menu and the new happy hour menu only includes 3 – 4 food items! that’s it! so you really can’t go here for happy hour anymore. They’ve also raised their prices so what used to be a great place to go for happy hour not sucks. Very disappointing. The food is still really good but sucks they rid of their happy hour menu and only have a couple items now.

My experience here was probably closer to a 3, mainly because there was only 1 sushi chef working when my family came in so our food took a little bit longer than what I normally experience when going out for sushi. However, the food was tasty, our waiter was nice, and have a fun happy hour menu so I’ll round this review up to a 4. LE(happy hour) MENU –Jalapeño Bombs. YUMMY deep fried jalapeños. They weren’t super hot, just super saucy. I do think they could’ve lightened it on the sauce. We got the happy hour version so the pictured dish is portioned smaller than the regular one. –Salmon Hand Roll. If you’re craving for some real sashimi off the happy hour menu, the salmon hand roll is your friend. Big slab of fresh salmon, rice, a pinch of seasoning, wrapped in seaweed. I was quite happy with the amount of fish in this one. –Sushi Rolls. I think they had about 3, maybe 4 sushi rolls to choose from the happy hour menu. We tried two, Spicy Tuna Roll and the Dragon roll. Let’s just say that we thought the Dragon Roll was the Spicy Tuna Roll initially because there was certainly no eel! Not sure what happened there. These weren’t super memorable to me. I’ve had better. Needless to say, if I stop by here again, I’d still probably order one of these. –Katsu Rice Plate. Yummy fried chicken katsu, a bowl of rice, and salad. Also off the happy hour menu and probably what I should have started off with first because I was so hungry! –Soba noodles. My sister ordered the soba noodles dish and that was also super tasty. The portion is too small to be filling, but I guess that’s why we ordered everything else. –Ramen Burger. Saving the most novel item for last, we also tried the Ramen Burger! It what you would imagine it would taste like — Ramen, ground beef patty, some lettuce. It was tasty, just a little hard to hold. Probably not omg amazing for the taste, but for the novelty and also because it looks cool in the photos 8) Pro Tip #1: Happy Hour is everyday from 3−6pm Pro Tip #2: Lunch Menu is from 12−4pm Pro Tip #3: Come at 3pm to get the best of both worlds and you get to order from both menus! :) My family didn’t even need to look at the regular menu!
