Cleanliness… I saw a cobb web dangling near our booth. The table is sticky. Food was mediocre. The sushi was huge but not chilled. Chicken teriyaki was ordinary. Customer service was decent, they mentioned the weather was hot, so they offered watermelon. Generally when I go to as Japanese restaurant, I feel happy afterwards. Today, after eating Japanese, I’m left feeling disappointed.

I don’t know why this restaurant is even open? The servers were inexperienced and came by every couple minutes and kept trying to clear our plates before we even finished our food. The food very confusing? I ordered beef teriyaki and I got kalbi instead. We will definitely not be going back!

5 star for the really good service. Very attentive staff, making sure your cup is always filled and they do asked nicely if you want refill unlike certain places where they just fill your cup without asking. I’m 7 months pregnant and couldn’t try their sushi /sashimi dishes, but according to the hubby, it was fresh. He got the chirashe bowl and it came with really fresh sashimi. The only downside about the bowl is always the rice. There’s a little too much rice. I chose quality over quantity. The sashimi is thick and fresh. He said the Uni that came with it, taste even better than what you get from Redondo beach. By looking at the color of the salmom, I can tell it’s fresh. So sad he was so hungry, couldn’t take a picture to post. I chose the dinner combination, teriyaki beef and mixed tempura. I got to say, I was surprised they use beef ribs instead of beef steak like other places and it comes on a sizzling plate. The meat was nicely sizzled. The seasoning is on point. Not too salty and too sweet. Along with our main course, we got grilled chicken cartilage. I got to say, it was okay for my taste. A bit too spur from the lemon dressing but overall, the food is delicious. Can’t wait to go back when I can actually eat raw food and hubby said he can’t wait when they get their liquor license. It will be our to go spot for sushi in Monterey Park.

Excellent Service. The quality of the sashimi was very good. New owner since April 2016, so give them a try. I am very happy and enjoyed my lunch. First time here and will definitely come back.

It’s sad to hear they changed the owner and chef. Which lost soul and beauty of this last well — known authentic sushi restaurant in Monterey Park. I ordered a chisash Bowl and can’t finish in half. The meat is taste blank and lack of freshness. The new white guy owner act friendly, but make me feel like I am eating in a cowboy restaurant. Plus they hired another Spanish waitress, which mix more Mexican style. You can feel there are huge cultural difference, they know they need to serve you tea in Japanese restaurant, but they bring extremely hot one that you even can’t sip.

They finally reopen under a new management. The food quality is better, the sashimi is fresh and the service was superb. We tried the Chirashi, sashimi and grilled salmon. They all very tasty and the price is very reasonable.

Came here with my family and it was pretty good. The staff is friendly and service was great. The food was amazing as well. A few of my favorite dishes were the uni, ikura, chicken wings, mixed tempura and red dragon roll. The sashimi was super fresh! I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and craving sushi! There aren’t many sushi places in the area so I’m glad I’ve found this gem. :)

They are finally open with new managers after a year off. My first time here and the food was pretty good. Delicious slices of sushi with an exceptional staff. Everyone is super friendly and the food will not disappoint. They are still remodeling the place and getting settled in. It is located in a small plaza nicely facing the street. I will be coming back soon. The prices are decent but worth it for the quality you are getting.

So I came here because my cousin raved about it. And it was bad, warm sashimi, lame service and ambiance was blah… Maybe my expectations were high bc my cuzzy hyped it. But the food was really below OK. the service… maybe it was the girls first day… food took forever, we were there for over an hour. I don’t live in town but if i did i would pass.

This is my mom’s favorite Sushi joint, so I have a special place in my heart for Osho. When I come with my mom, we always share the Osho Sushi Boat + Uni and it comes with 2 miso soups and 2 salads, plus a TON of food. It says it’s a 2-person meal, but we split it between 4 people and we are always SUPERSTUFFED! The fish is always fairly fresh and the food tastes authentic– traditional dishes and doesn’t have too many Americanized gimmicky rolls. I love their tempura because the batter is light and perfect, they they make a reallyyyyy good salmon skin hand roll here! The restaurant itself is dim and dated(but still clean), and it’s in the same plaza as an old driving school that I’ve been to a few years ago. Nothing spectacular about the décor or ambiance, but the service has always been friendly. This seems more like a locals spot, then a destination restaurant. Still one of my favorite places in MPK!

Maybe it was the expectations, but Osho is not one of the better sushi restaurants in the Los Angeles area. I came here on a weekday for lunch, and the place was empty. Between 2 people, we ordered a chirashi bowl and a beef teriyaki and sashimi combo. We were utterly disappointed. The chirashi bowl is practically a scam. The bowl looked delicious and replete with delicious sashimi; however, I was deceived by the fat layer of seaweed underneath the sashimi. Not only was the variety scant, the fish was cut by someone who clearly did not know how to slice sashimi. many of the pieces came out trangular and oddly-shaped, which detracted from the texture of the fish. Even if the fish were fresh, I really could not tell past all of the other deficiencies. One saving grace for the chirashi bowl is the rice, which was delicious. However, that is simply not enough to justify the prices when Sushi Gen and Akasaka are not too far away. The beef teriyaki and sashimi combo was also underwhelming. It is hard to screw up beef teriyaki, and I can’t say Osho sushi made it terribly. However, I have never felt so unsatisfied with an order of beef teriyaki combo before. If I were you, would steer clear of this place. After eating, I understood why the restaurant was empty.
