good experience… mixing in your fresh fruits into your your yogurt. sorta like a smoothy yogurt.

If you like your frozen yogurt to be tart when its supposed to be tart, and creamy when it’s supposed to be creamy, then this place may not be for you. I don’t know if I just got a bad batch or if it was supposed to taste that way, but I got the mint chocolate chip yogurt, and it tasted sour. Everybody keeps talking about how healthy the frozen yogurt here is, and maybe that’s true, but I dont care how healthy it is, if it doesn’t taste good, why eat it? Dessert is supppsed to be a treat, so I’m not gonna sacrifice flavor so my sweet treat can be healthier.
The place looks just like any other frozen yogurt place nowadays, and the teenage servers are helpful enough, but it’s not serve yourself, and it ends up costing more than Yogurtland and you probably get less toppings.
Bottom line, I probably will not go back because if my yogurt was meant to taste sour then that flavor is not for me, and if my yogurt was sour because it was bad, then that’s just nasty.

I love my desserts to be sweet, soft serve, and with chocolate.
I am a hard judge though… even though a dessert place has all these, I still wish it was a do it yourself thing.
Great yogurt with a lot of selections and variety, which I love! Overall I would still end up at YogurtLand to be honest with you because they have the self serve machines.

We had half an hour to kill before our movie started next door at the AMC and decided to share a cup of froyo.
Probiotic? We’re down for that!
I ordered a medium cup of plain passion fruit. ($ 3.95)
I liked the texture and the fact that the flavoring was more subtle than other places (Tutti Frutti comes to mind for over-​doing it).
Him: «I can’t really taste the passion fruit. It reminds me of something else… hmmmm, what does this taste like?»
He finally decided that it reminded him most of a bagel with cream cheese. Yes, bagel included.
We both liked the fact that it’s not self-​service because we’ve seen people do some funky things at other froyo places.
I’d love to come back whenever I’m there.

***Yogen Fruz features very good service and their nu mixes can be good, but you need to order right to make sure you get the optimal flavor and texture***
Yogen Fruz is a unique take on frozen yogurt. They do a lot of blended frozen yogurt here where they blend in the toppings to make one consistent flavor experience (nu mix). Even though they blend in the toppings, the frozen yogurt does not get too soft; instead, it maintains a nicely firm texture.
My first trip here – when I went with their chocolate almond (nu mix) – was satisfying. My second nu mix was not as good. I went for their piña colada, which mixed vanilla frozen yogurt with coconut and pineapple. The result was a refreshing, cool and sorbet-​like experience. I was not a huge fan of the flavor or the resulting texture though. They use frozen fruit here (probably better suited for the blender), but it turned the texture a little too bumpy and icy.
I think their other nu mixes might be significantly better – their coffee one sounds quite good. They also do creations/​sundaes where they build even more elaborate frozen yogurt desserts.
Service was very good. It has been friendly and helpful on both of my visits.
Prices are about what you would expect to pay for premium frozen yogurt (more than a self-​serve place, but then again you are getting a different experience). They do offer discounts when you show your movie ticket stub from the AMC theater next door.
Yogen Fruz is an interesting concept, which makes it worth visiting if you are a frozen yogurt fan and find yourself in this area. While I was not a huge fan of the piña colada nu mix, I think that some of their other flavors would be more to my liking.
Yogen Fruz is located in the Atlantic Times Square retail plaza. Parking is available via the underground parking structure and is free.

it’s creamy yet icy, fresh and delicious. yogurt is one of my favorite desserts to eat, a frozen little treat for you to decorate and devour. choose your yogurt, your mix ins, and some toppings to sprinkle over, and let the kiddies with their caps do their magic with those machines.

–they mix in TONS of fruit, or whatever goodie you choose to mix in, they pack that little cup
–personal favorite: green tea lychee (nonfat vanilla yogurt, matcha greentea powder, plus a full cup of lychee mixed right into your yogurt, so yum, and a totally healthier alternative for dessert or treat for yourself)
tried it once, and decided that it was just alright, nothing special that yogurtland couldn’t swirl up for me… (first time i got the plain chocolate yogurt, it’s yummy, but honestly nothing great about it…)
tried it again, got the greentea lychee, it was interesting, different, but once again i didnt think it was that great… or so i thought…
the next few days i seriously cravedddd that yogurt… and i had to drive back over to put my taste buds to rest.
i’ll give you the lowdown right here, right now, the difference between yogen fruz and yogurtland or any other yogurt place, is that they use bars of yogurt here, so it’s straight up real yogurt… other places are using syrups, and powders, water, and just tons and tons of sugary toxins… it’s healthier, more satisfying, and it’s quality as compared to quantity… you choose.
my girls and i are regulars here now, every time we’re in the plaza, a serious contemplation goes on in our minds. i mean we JUST finished working out at the gym… but then… my greentea yogurt is sitting there, calling out my name… ahaha no, there’s actually never any contemplation that goes on, if we’re in the plaza… we’re going to yogen fruz, done deal.
so give it a try, or maybe two, cuz it’s a taste you’ll have to get used to, but you’ll love it guaranteed.

I’ll admit that I was disappointed this visit. The nice girl at the register told me that the flavors I wanted to try were «not good» and many customers did not like them… if the customers don’t like it, take it off the menu! I finally settled for a cherry jubilee, but they were out of cherries! I wanted yogurt so badly I ordered regular strawberry froyo.
The strawberry froyo had a very strong fresh strawberry (should be common sense considering they actually real strawberries, but just saying). I just didn’t like the seeds all over the yogurt and it was very icy, which is an understandable trend that I’ve noticed on all their frozen fruit blends. Ice chunks aren’t quite my thing and I threw away my yogurt after I ate ¹⁄₃ of it. Not sure if I’ll be back…

I begrudgingly came into this place, having been long over the frozen yogurt crazy. I was there during the early days with Pink berry, Red Mango and Kiwi Berry (rest in peace). Now there’s a ton of them all over. And the place that came out victorious and deservedly so was Yogurt land.
Well that fad was over, and we all moved onto one thing or another. Right now the fad is shaved snow. Honestly speaking, shaved snow is nice and all, but in comparision to the first time I tried frozen yogurt, it ain’t even close. Unfortunately, I was burnt out by the froyo crazy of yesteryear.
Anyhoo, in a plaza with Fluff Ice, and Coldstone, how does this place compete? Especially when you have Half and Half down the street, and Yogurtland not too far away?
Well… this place is pretty different. And if it weren’t for the confusing way that they use to explain how they are different from these other establishments, I think they would find more success.
The way I usually explain this place to friends is that it’s kinda like Red Mango meets Coldstone. It uses Yogurt with probiotics. Now… I’m not exactly sure what that stuff is, but I know it’s good for you based on the commercials they show for regular yogurt during daytime television. At the very least I know it’s good for hormonal women on their period.
So what’s the difference between probiotic yogurt and regular froyo in terms of taste? Well, it’s a heck of a lot creamier and after you’re done with it, if everything goes right you’ll have a blissful session on the bowl a few hours later. No it’s not a laxative, but something about it just feels… right.
Yeah, I went a bit too far off base. But the reason why I compare it to Coldstone is that they mix in the fruit with the yogurt as opposed to just topping it. And with that you get a thicker textured yogurt, just the way I like it. So if you try the mix-​its you choose your sized cup and they fill it to the top with whatever fruits you want. YES WHATEVER FRUITS YOU WANT. So there’s no limited combo in lets say a set drink at Jamba Juice, and instead you can have every single type of fruit they have mixed into your yogurt. Chances are it’ll turn a maroon color.
After that if you want you can add additional toppings for 50 cents but I am happy with it just the way it is. Today I added fruity pebbles just after putting practically every fruit into my yogurt, I felt like it needed more fruit. Thank you Fred Flintstone.
Honestly shaved ice and shaved snow are fun fads, but how often can you actually eat something that tastes good and not feel so guilty about (health-​wise)?
Oh yeah, don’t forget to bring a ticket stub from the movie so that you can get your 15% discount.
btw: I think the happy hour deal is over for this season. so somebody oughtta get rid of that note at the top.

I. LOVE. YOGEN FRUZ!
I always have to stop by Yogen Fruz for dessert if I’m eating somewhere near Atlantic Times Square (it drives my boyfriend crazy!). I’ve never tried their plain yogurt + toppings, because I always have to have their Mix Its. Like Cold Stone, they have a set list of their popular mixes you could choose from, or you can create your own concoction. My favorite is «Bananarama» which has banana and nutella. You also have the option of choosing non-​fat or low-​fat yogurt. The concept of Yogen Fruz is like Cold Stone and 21 Choices, but the difference is that they have this really cool machine that does all the mixing for them. So say goodbye to yucky, half-​melted frozen yogurt! Everything is mixed perfectly together into the yogurt, especially the nutella. YUM!

I know it’s unfair to compare every yogurt place I go to, to Yogurtland. But I just can’t help it.
I really want to like this place. I really do… Friendly staff, clean facility, and you get the option of mixing and choosing your own flavor, but sadly it just wasn’t for me.
I got the Chai Latte and my date got Matcha Green Tea. Maybe my body was in shock from all the sweets that I was consuming earlier that day because I didn’t enjoy my yogurt much. My date didn’t care too much for his Matcha Green Tea and neither did I. But he seemed to enjoy my Chai Latte and he did mention that he liked my yogurt better than his. So maybe it’s worth a shot?
If you present your AMC movie tickets at the register they give you 15% off your purchase. This worked out in our favor because we had just got done watching a movie! In retrospect, maybe I got a little too excited when I saw the sign for the AMC movie deal… oopsie =/​
I’m sorry Yogen Fruz, as much as I want to like you, I just can’t.

Ice cream should be creamy, but my yogurt needs to be tart. While I love the tart yogurt chains that has populated So Cal’s taste buds in the last few years, I don’t love the artificiality of the flavors. Moreover, offering 1 No Sugar Added option in a bay of 20 plus flavors is like sticking your head in the sand about the health hazard of consuming too much fructose.
Yogen Fruz and their custom approach definitely landed on the top of my Eat-​This list. Yogurt lovers can choose a base yogurt and whatever real fruit (s) they want mixed together. My favorite concoction to date: a No Sugar Added Probiotic Plain base with fresh raspberries. Awesomely yum.
Yogen Fruz — are you thinking Irvine/​Tustin, yet?

Yogen Fruz is apparently the second coming of 21 Choices in Pasadena which is the second coming of the yogurt version of Coldstone.
Food: You can buy a base yogurt for a farily decent price, but all of the toppings will cost extra. I have to try the plain wherever I go, so of course that’s what I got (
). It was pretty good, but I have to say that it sucks that you have to pay extra for the toppings. I honestly can’t see why this place is that much better than the self serve joints. Their yogurt might be a bit higher quality, but the toppings prices are a bit too high for my liking. I came here around the time when it first opened and didn’t see anyone mixing things into the yogurt like they do at 21 Choices or Coldstone, but apparently things have changed. I’ll have to come back and try it again. They also have shakes and other yogurt based products.
Service: Well, they gave me a free bag for buying a medium. The cheap Asian in me couldn’t resist!!! Other than that, the service was a bit gruff.
Atmosphere: Situated in a new, fancy complex off of Atlantic, this place oozes with money. The interior is spacious and space-​age. Also, their smiley face logo is pretty cute.
Synopsis: I’ll have to try their mixed yogurts, but right now I’m a bit miffed by the prices.

Yogen Fruz– what an interesting experience! I am always skeptical about trying new yogurt places if it’s out of Yogurtland territory, but I gave it a try after a recommendation from my friend.
At the time we went, they were giving out free reuseable bags if you buy a medium sized yogurt. I think a small sized should suffice anyone who has a small craving for sweets. :D
I had the small mix it and combined chocolate with strawberry/​pineapple. There were plenty of fruit choices and toppings, but I opted for something I was more comfortable with. There are fewer yogurt choices here, but they have smoothies and their own creations, too (reminds me of Coldstone with the whole mixing, smoothies, and signature selections, too). The taste of the bits of fruits made yogurt so healthy and it was so overbearing that I couldn’t taste the chocolate! The cost is about equivalent to that of Yogurtland, but I feel as though the yogurt may not be as creamy/​sweet.

I came here to get a medium froyo and came out with a free tote bag as a gift as per the promotion their currently having! Lovely!
Their yogurt has a very strong yogurt flavor, Now before you tell me that’s a redundant statement, let me explain. Froyo at many places taste different from regular non-​frozen yogurt. Not sure whether it’s because the processes or ingredients are different, but that’s usually the case. This place’s froyo however, tasted very much like regular yogurt… but frozen. Some people (like me) will like that. Others will not.
They also have a pretty cool concept of mix-​in froyo, where you choose fruits and such to be literally infused with your froyo, sort of like coldstone’s, blended by a machine rather than by hand. It’s the first froyo place I’ve seen that does that, so props to being different!
I didn’t try it though and rather opted for their plain froyo with strawberry, mango, and mochi toppings. Their fruits and toppings seem fresh. Prices are comparable to Pinkberry or Red Mango, and it’s say to say I’ll come back to try their mix-​in froyo!

Update: I’ve been back here two more times and the service was excellent. I had no idea that they take real frozen fruit and grind them into the yogurt. You can hand pick what frozen fruit you like and they custom make the yogurt for you – awesome!
It’s not clearly advertised so the first two times I was there, I had no idea what the frozen fruit was for. This is something totally different from other yogurt places I’ve been to.
Will be coming back for sure!

This is a new location that just opened up in Monterey Park. It’s right next door to the new movie theater so what’s not to love. You can come here, buy your tickets for the new movie that’s out and then stop on by and pick up some yummy yogurt.
I ordered the strawberry-​banana smoothie and had them add blueberries to it. It was definitely yummy-​licious, and healthy of course. I got the nonfat yogurt so I felt a little less-​guilty. I also tried the coffee flavored yogurt it and it was oh so pleasing to the palate. The explosion of tart and cold yogurt in my month attacked my taste buds with reckless abandon.
Watching how they make your yogurt is a treat itself. They take these bars out of the freezer and then put it in a contraption that forces the yogurt up into the spinning blades of an external blender. I thought it was kinda cool. I have never seen that before.
If you are in the neighborhood, take some time out of your day and grab a YF. It was hot the day that I went and man… was it a tasty and welcome treat. I’ll have to try some of the other flavors on the menu as well.

At Yogen Früz, it‘s all about you! How great is that? :) YOU WANT IT?! YOU GOT IT! First time seeing the mix it concept and it intrigued me. Pick the size, pick the fruits, pick the yogurt and voila! You got your own whatever flavor you wanted yogurt, smoothie or shake. ^_​_​^ BUT, choose your combination of fruits wisely, don‘t go too crazy just cause you can have as many number of fruits you want. Yogen Fruz is so yummy!
This yogurt is so creamy, tasty, and healthy. Out of all the yogurt companies out right now, if you’re looking for real taste this is the place. Out of all the signature items, I’ve tried the Lychee Green Tea, Chocolate Almond, Coffee with chocolate yogurt, very berry, and the sunset smoothie. The good thing about the place, if you want to be creative you can make your own flavor. There is also a flavor of the week and other flavors that were popular in the past.
The staff is very friendly. Especially all the cute girls there. This place has good service, clean place, always open, and great tasting.
It’s all about U here! U make the flavor! U make the yogurt! U make it happen! U want some!

I don’t get it. I still prefer Yogurtland. In fact, I would even prefer Pinkberry (gasp!) to Yogen Fruz.
#1 — I don’t like places with foreign sounding names when they aren’t really all that exotic. I know Yogen Fruz is from Canada but they speak English in Canada.
#2 — I don’t like places that are over-​priced for no reason. I know, the guy put a lot of effort into making our fruity froyo concoction but in the end it was expensive ($ 4.75) and not that great. Note to self and others: vanilla with pineapple, strawberry and lychee doesn’t taste as great as it sounds. The end result was just a solid smoothie. The fruits were not well-​integrated. I could taste chunks of strawberries and see the fibers of the pineapple. The lychee flavor was completely lost behind the other two. If we wanted toppings, it would’ve cost extra.
