Description

Specialties

Welcome to Chelsea’s Busy Hands.

I provide various services based on the needs of my clients and families. I am a freelance ASL interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

My tutoring services are tailor-made to meet your needs or the needs of you and your family. I provide services in person and online. Online is a great option when it comes to learn gin ASL.

Do you have a child who is showing a communication delay? I am well versed in teaching families how to improve their child’s communicative skills. I offer one-on-one communication and language therapy. With over twenty years of experience teaching and consulting with families whose children are deaf, hard of hearing or communication delayed, let me help your child reach his/her full potential. In addition to using American Sign Language (ASL) I use a variety of techniques used by Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Auditory Verbal Therapists (AVTs) to give your child full access to communication. Together we can create a communication plan for your family. My services may include authentic/formal assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, direct language development therapy and consultation.

Let’s communicate.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Hello and thank you for visiting my site.

I first learned American Sign Language (ASL) from my mother, who was deaf. Watching my mother dance between in the hearing world and Deaf world provided me with great insight and a passion for the field of hearing loss. I love sharing stories about growing up with my special mother.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Deaf Education from Fresno State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Deaf Education from San Diego State University. I feel fortunate to have over 20 years experience providing classroom instruction, working with families of children with hearing loss and communication delays, and teaching developmental playgroups and baby sign language classes. I’ve taught at all levels from birth to age 22 and I even have a 91 year old client. It’s never too soon or too late to learn to sign.
