History

Established in 1939.

Federico’s Shoe Repair is one of the oldest merchants in Monterey. The shop was established in 1939 by Charles Federicoafter purchasing a small shoe repair shop on Franklin Street, Monterey. The shop started off as a small one man store that mostly provided ‘while you wait’ work because many people only had one pair of shoes. After adding a drive in window, business began to thrive and Federico’s became a locals favorite shop to drive up and hang out while waiting for repairs.

After Charles won his first National Workmanship Award and business began to thrive as customers began sending shoes from out of town to get repaired. Federico’s has won 29 top awards and remains a family owned and operated business by Charles son, Henry Federico.

Federico Shoes is now under the leadership of a 2^nd generation of Federicos as Charles’ son Henry runs the shop. With a keen eye for quality and exceptional customer satisfaction, Henry has been a part of Federico shoes since he was 8 years old!
