These guys are alright. Maybe the one-star reviewers are just pompous cause I thought this store had great service and gave me no problems.

Gamestops are only useful if you are looking for a used game. The staff is usually not very well versed in what they are selling. In addition, the prices on popular games that have aged over a year tend to maintain at their initial release cost, rather than falling the usual 10 dollars or so that the big box stores discount them.

Okay, to be fair, I’m not a huge gamer. However, the few experiences I’ve had dealing with this place have been awful. It seems to be that most of the employees have no clue what they are doing at the register. Each time I have needed to wait in line, even if it’s only one or two people in front of me, it takes FOREVER. Any time I’ve seen or heard a question asked, the person working has needed to get a second or even third opinion to give an answer. Seriously? This past week, I went in to redeem a birthday coupon. I bought a pre-owned game for my Wii, came home, started to play it, and got an error on my console that the disc could not be played. I tried cleaning it, restarting it, etc. Nothing worked, and it looked like the disc was messed up. I took it in a couple days later and they replaced it with no question, which was fine. Unfortunately, upon returning home and trying to play the replacement, SAME problem! This disc was messed up, too. At this point, I plan on just returning the disc and getting my money back. What a waste of my time.

Though I didn’t purchase anything, all the games were there and the staff was pretty friendly. When I move down to Monterey in August, I’ll definitely apply there :)

Store is always neat and organized. Godzilla or whatever your name is if, if you weren’[ so lazy(and not a loser with that stupid Godzilla pic), no one would have to call you to tell you that your game was out.

Gamestop is great if you have a console. They suck if you have a PC. I am in the latter. I stop in once in a while to see if anything has changed. They’re selling used PC games over what the retail price of new PC games are online. That doesn’t seem to compute with me. The service is hit and miss as with much of retail land at Del Monte. Sometimes they don’t know what I’m asking for when I inquired about other PC games. So… meh, keep hoping!

I pre-ordered a game, the email confirmation said the store would call me when the game was ready for pickup. I waited 4 days after the game was released and then I called the store. It was ready for pick up on the day of release, but the store did not bother to call me. Their excuse was that they«were busy»

The customer service is great! My ps3 controller stopped working after 2 months. Lucky I kept my receipt and I took it in for a new one no problem. Rick helped me he was friendly. The best part is my new controller is a really pretty pink! I love it!

The location is nice(Del Monte Center) and close to the highway. Parking is typical mall parking. The staff is friendly and helpful and keeps the shelves well stocked. They even do occasional midnight releases for big games.
