Orchid Nails

I come here every time I get my nails done! The ladies are overly kind and very caring. Each and every time I come in I am offered water, hot tea, or a soft drink. I/​we are also greeted with a big hug and a smile from ear to ear! It is very hard to find customer service on this peninsula, but at orchid nails there is no issue with it! My nails are always taken care of and always done well with no rushing through it. Thank you Orchid Nails!

I received the Special Pedicure ($ 35) and was surprised by how well it was done. I originally went to Top Nails but they wanted me to wait for an hour… I was on a mission so I went elsewhere. They offered me and my friends hot tea which was new to me. My pedicure was pain free and the sugar scrub on my legs was heavenly. My feet were super soft after the foot mask I got. I have no complaints whatsoever. Go patronize Orchid Nails!

I came here yesterday with my friend. We both got acrylic fills with gel polish over. It was 35 $ each which was not worth it at all. I can get my nails done somewhere else for 25 $ & have a much better job. My nails are see through even after I asked for another coat. My friends nail Polish started melting under the light & had to be re done. It took way too much time & the glitter on my nails is uneven because they did two coats on one nail & three on the other nail.
They also gave a sign stating that they only speak English in front of customers & will never speak vietnamese yet that’s all they did. I’m perfectly fine with them speaking Vietnamese but don’t have a sign saying you won’t but do it anyways. They also gave me tea & it burned my entire mouth. Not happy about the price, the job they did, their sign saying no Vietnamese, my burned mouth, uneven paint job, see through nails, & an hour & a half for a fill.

Good price for gel nails (French tips were $ 30) also got a spa pedicure that made my feet feel amazing ! The quality was great. They were very friendly, we didn’t have to wait even though we were walk-​ins. And they offer tea or water while they’re working on you! I will be coming back. This is my favorite place to get my nails done in monterey.

These people are horrible. Do not get a pedicure here if you want to be able to walk comfortably anytime in the near future :(while visiting from San Francisco, I wanted to get a mani/​pedi and this place was recommended. The manicure came out okay, not great but not terrible. The pedicure however, was horrible and painful (and still is). The girl doing my pedi dug too deeply below the nail bed and literally PULLED the cuticles on the inner side of both of my big toes out, I asked her to stop on the first one, then she went ahead and did it to the second! I thought it was just painful at the time, but the next morning i woke up and both big toes were too swollen to walk and bright red. That was Saturday and it is now Wednesday. I have been putting antibiotic ointment on them daily and they are still swollen, red and tender. I have had many pedicures and never had this happen, I am a nurse and this stupid ordeal has made it painful to do my job! I would NEVER return, in fact, I would gladly pay twice the $ 40 that the mani/​pedi cost to take back that experience. I’m hoping that it’s just inflamed and not infected, but I’m keeping an eye on it… what a terrible experience.

Went in for a pedicure ($ 25 for regular, $ 35 for additional paraffin wax treatment), and Kim did a great job!
The ladies were friendly, and the massage chairs used for the pedicures were well-​maintained, clean and comfy. Hot green tea or water was offered and enjoyed. TV was set to «The Ellen DeGeneres Show,» and there was a nice selection of magazines.
Polishes offered were OPI (although I brought my own), and there seemed to be a nice selection of colors available.
An hour later, my toenails were pretty, feet were soft, and lower legs were feeling good from the calf-​massage.
Will be back for my biweekly fix!

I went in here today as a sort of spur of the moment thing, and I am so glad I did! Everyone was friendly and very helpful, they even let me hang out for an extended amount of time while my nails completely dried. (I had a major brain fart and wore running shoes to the salon, oops)
The prices were perfect, I usually feel over-​charged when I get a spa pedicure but not here. She spent a lot of time massaging my feet and calves (my favorite part) so I was very happy. They also offered me hot green tea or water if I preferred. This is my new favorite spot when I need some pampering.

I love this place… I didn’t give 5 stars because sometimes I feel they need more staff on so you will not be rushed.

Ok, it’s a hole in the wall and the place is not the best to look at, but don’t let that turn u away. Their service and attention to detail is spot on. Their chairs for the pedi are super comfy and my toes always come out to perfection. If u happen to go try the hot wax for your feet, that thing works wonders.

Weird shaped nails! Ewww! I had a pic on my phone of how I wanted my nails painted. She would not do it! She went against the color I picked. I told and showed her the pic if how I wanted my tips done and she did it and i said yea i liked it and she says oh look at this it looks nice and changes it!!! Then you know how sometimes when you get tips they paint the base a light or hot pink? She offered that and I declined it. A few minutes later she took my hand and said it needed a base and painted the light pink polish on! I dont care how she like my idea! Im paying for it! Never going back! Will not recommend! I am very unsatisfied. I understand they cannot replicate the pic I showed and I wouldnt expect her to, but really?

I was very please with the service I received at this facility! They offered me hot tea or water as soon as I walked in the door. Lisa made sure my water was just the right temperature for my pedicure. Throughout my manicure and pedicure, Lisa continued to check in with me to make sure I was comfortable. Lisa was extremely precise and did a wonderful job! I will definitely go back here again! Oh and they have free candy!

Ask for Jenny. She gives the best pedicures ever. This place is really nice and centrally located. They even offer you something to drink when you sit down.

They have always been very friendly to me and my girls. I would say I get a pedicure every few months or so, and they always do such a good job that the polish stays on my toes until the next time with barely any chipping.
Last time I was in, I got a cute flower design on my big toes. These ladies know what they’re doing. Adorable!
Also, they always offer free bottled water which is a nice plus on a hot day, or if you’ve been walking around Monterey prior to your appointment. They often have free candy, too (Rolos! yum).
On top of all of this, the massage chairs are so relaxing and they usually are not in a rush to kick you out right away, unless it’s busy, but even then they don’t rush you out of their shop.
I think I’m gonna go back for a french mani pedi soon. :]

I’m really picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I always go to the same salon, looking for the same people. But this was an emergency! My gel-​manicure was falling apart, I lost a tip and 3 fingers were cracking. I couldn’t wait until I go back to SF, so I found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try.
There’s private parking so that was a plus. I got here at 3pm and the place was empty! Which can be a good and bad sign, good because I don’t need to wait. Bad because it could mean they’re not good. The ladies were very friendly and nice so I gave them benefit of the doubt. The girl who assist me took her time with me, the way how they removed my gel polish wasn’t a way I normally do it. I hate soaking my hand in acetone because it harms my skin also. Took her about 30 minutes just remove the polish. She hurt my fingers while cutting cuticles because she try to cut a chunk of my skin off. The polish job was bad, there are polish on my fingers! Ughhh I can do a better job myself if I try hard enough.
Overall, the service is good, experience is bad. Normally, manicure is $ 12 but I had to remove gel polish so it was $ 20 plus $ 7 to change my toe colors; not too bad.

these ladies are the most wonderful manicurists in Monterey. Not only are they always happy to see me and fun to chat with but their prices are great and they always have room to accomodate you. Anyone who gave them a poor review probably walked in with a stick up their butt in the first place.

Unacceptable pricing policies combined with illegal business practices and outright rude staff make Orchid Nails a «must miss» stop in Monterey. Save your nails, your patience and, most importantly, your money!

I usually go to a different place but they were busy. So I popped in here because it was up the street. The girl who gave me a pedicure was rough. I mean really rough. When cleaning beneath the nail bed she drew blood twice. Then she took a loofah to the souls of my feet. She scrubbed so hard that she ripped the skin off of my baby toe and created a massive skin tear. It was so bad in fact that the skin on my toe became a massive blister that took 2 weeks to heal. When polishing my toe nails she messed up the french manicure line in 3 different places and gave me the stink eye when I asked her to fix it. She didn’t fix it. So once I got home bleeding, stumbling & scarred I fixed it myself. I’m never going back. They are evil, and want to mutilate your flesh.
