Eric and Bob are really helpful, equipment is always clean and in good working conditions, half day or full day rentals, they even have delivery services if needed. Hands down the best rental place I’ve ever been to.

I’m from out of state and was in Monterey helping my son move. As it turned out, he had a lot more stuff than would fit in our cars and the friend with a truck to move the furniture wasn’t available. Since I have a trailer hitch, we figured renting a trailer would be the least expensive way to go. I called around to the local u-​haul locations and nobody rented trailers or they weren’t open. Rental Depot had a 5×8 in trailer available immediately. Renting it was quick and easy and the price for 24 hours was very reasonable. The person who helped me, Eric, was so nice and helpful. Since my hitch ball was only 1 7/​8″, he let me use their hitch with the required 2″ ball. He hitched it up and made sure the lights worked also. The trailer was very sturdy and was easy to maneuver. When we weren’t able to finish moving in 24 hours, Eric was incredibly flexible in figuring out how I could get the trailer back even after they closed on Saturday. Since I was heading back home (14 hours away) there was no way I could have waited until they opened again on Monday to return it.

Yes, there are earth movers, compressors, etc., But if u just need a hedge trimmer, ladder, blower, or anything u could buy but u don’t want to store it for 1 or 2+ years, this place makes it easy. No deposit and they provide extra fuel for 2-​stroke devices, which was my deal-​maker.

The Rental Depot is conveniently located on busy Del Monte Ave (aka next door to Monterey Fish House for you foodies) and they rent out some pretty sweet heavy duty items like generators, machinery and the reason why we stopped in trailers. We hitched one up to a truck we borrowed from a good friend and we were off to the remote mountain tops of Big Sur for a two day summer music festival. The staff was very helpful, the service solid and they offered affordable prices. Oh and they have a popcorn machine in their office… pretty tasty treat! Thanks guys!
