Specialties
Breakfast and lunch made from fresh, locally-sourced products, all cooked and served by members of the Gould Farm community, a therapeutic program for adults with mental illness.
History
Established in 1971.
Gould Farm was founded over 100 years ago by Will and Agnes Gould as a healing community for people with mental health challenges. Community members are welcomed into an authentic community made up of staff, volunteers, and their families who all live on the 700 acre property in Monterey. Everyone works together on the farm and guests of the program receive individual clinical care.
The Farm purchased Roadside Store and Café in 19 in order to expand its work program. It was run as a gas station and store until 19 when it became exclusively a restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch.
After undergoing some renovations, It was re-opened in 200 with Fiona DeRis as manager and she has lead it to its current success as a bustling restaurant known for its delicious food, farm-raised and made products, and friendly service. Most importantly, the program offers a wonderful healing opportunity for Gould Farm guests to be part of a successful work experience!
