Dr Smith spent less than 5 min with me each of the two times I went to his office. He would say he would be right back and then is assistant (nurse? PA?) would return to administer treatment (the second time they tried to sell me a medication to put on my foot issue saying that they can no longer administer without referral from insurance). I have had corn/​wart/​callus/​plugged sweat duct ??? on my foot for months and although he nicely removed it the first time, it grew right back. I waited over 45 min each time for my visit and when I tried to schedule a third visit for him to remove this issue (a week after he had just removed it)…they were not able to fit me in for 3 weeks. The office called to change my 2^nd visit and asked me to come in earlier which I did and then waited 45 min because the doctor was running late to get to work. When I told assistant I had previously been scheduled at 9:30 not 8, she seemed confused as to why they would have rescheduled me and blamed it on new office staff. I am done with this doctor who takes no time for his patients and was not willing to help me find the underlying cause of my food issue.

If I could give this man ZERO stars, I would. I’ll start by saying that his staff were always excellent and attentive, they always got us an appointment quickly if not that very same day, although the waiting room times were very long.
Dr. Smith, on the other hand, seemed like he was more interested in telling jokes than taking care of my daughters foot pain. When he wasn’t telling jokes he was busy talking to his scribe about whatever else was happening in the office. Anyways, We started out with a boot, then a cast, all the while he never told her to go non weight bearing or use crutches. She stopped all sports, only walked when absolutely necessary at school, etc. Her pain continued to increase and I felt like he was not listening to us or her, at all. We came in the last time due to increased pain in the cast and he just cut it off. No explanation, he actually had the nerve to tell me that, «kids just don’t like having them on». NO. She just wants to not hurt and go back to her normal life, not once did he explain why it was hurting or what else she could do about it. Just told us to return in a week to schedule an MRI. Well, that didn’t happen.
We took her to our podiatrist, Dr. Marangoni (I noticed another reviewer did the same) whom spent the time fully checking her foot, and explaining how to ice, wrap, exercise her foot not only to us, but to my daughter. I finally feel now like we are getting somewhere!
To end this review, I must say that I probably wouldn’t have ever reviewed him if it weren’t for what I received today. I got all copies of her records from his office for my insurance. This man LIED about what he told us, LIED about her pain. He said she continued to be in pain due to her increase in activity. I’ve never been more livid in my life. He said he recommended crutches and shoes with supports and explained all of this to us. That NEVER happened! I’m absolutely appalled. All I can say now is, don’t let a big fancy office make you believe that they have the best doctors. It’s not the case at all.

I began seeing Dr Smith over the summer after being very unsatisfied with the doctor (s) who were treating me before for an injured Achilles Tendon that eventually fully ruptured.
Dr Smith has excellent bedside manner and so far seems to be very knowledgeable and professional. Additionally he has a top notch staff (Claudia, you rock).I still have a very long road to recovery ahead of me but feel I’m in good hands with Dr Smith.

Dr. Smith and his staff are excellent! Always very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Smith is a great doctor and a surgeon, I’ve been seeing him for a couple years now. He always makes sure I fully understand my conditions and all my options. Very knowledgeable, skilled and a down-​to-​earth doctor.
Dr. Smith’s assistant, Claudia, is great! she’s always very friendly and always makes sure all the proper paper work is filled for my claims. She even gives me a courtesy call to let me know after she has completed it, which is always done very quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Dr. Scott Smith to anyone with foot issues.

Friendly staff just to start it off… Dr. Scott was very informative… I explained my issues and he gave me a shot that instantly allowed me to walk without pain… We are now waiting for my MRI…

Making patients in pain wait inordinate lengths of time — with an appointment — is unacceptable!
It should be an honor to care for trusting patients who give you a chance to make a great living!
Please think twice before going to a practice as arrogant and uncaring as this!

Dr. Scott Smith has taken my wound on my ankle from almost being amputated to healing the wound. I will never be able to repay him. I am so thankful for Dr. Smith he has given me the ability to believe in the medical profession once again. I thought there wasn’t any doctors today that truly cared about my well being along with my recovery, but Dr. Smith truly goes above and beyond in all categories. Thank goodness for Doctors like Dr. Smith. I wish they were all like him.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Dr. Scott Smith. Diagnosis, prognosis, recovery, and bedside manner were all as good as you could hope for. 4 months post Iateral ankle reconstruction surgery (modified brostrum) I completed a 9 mile race. 10 months post surgery I completed a Half-​Ironman triathlon. Couldn’t recommend him any more strongly. My ankle feels better and is more functional than it has been in a decade.

I have a complicated case of arthritis in my ankle that causes me a great deal of pain. Dr. Scott Smith has been very thorough and has used every thing at his disposal to alleviate my pain and has even called me several times at home to see how I am doing. You can’t ask for more than that from a doctor. I’m sticking with Dr. Smith!

Excellent care! He doesn’t mess around. Went in with severe pain that I’ve been dealing with forever and with one treatment the problem has completely gone away. Plan on going back for any new problems. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Smith is one of the best doctors I have ever known. My husband and I see him, and we are consistently pleased with his care. He is attentive, gentle, calming, and ultra competent. When you are with him, you always feel he is completely present and focused on you, taking time to give you what you really need. Wouldn’t go to anyone else.

After ordering, reviewing my x-​rays and seeing obvious fractures in my foot, my M.D. did everything he could to get me an appt. with an orthopedic specialist to treat the breaks. I wound up w/​an appt. with this podiatrist as the orthopedic physicians contacted either don’t specialize in foot fractures or were booked.
I would neither recommend nor return to this doctor. No introduction; no warmth. His pts. and he would benefit from his feeling and exhibiting a passion for his work and empathy and interest in the patients who come to him vulnerable and in pain.
Shockingly, he neglected to take even a moment to examine or even LOOK at my discolored, very painfull and swollen foot — this even when I directly invited him to do so. This was a 1^st for me in a doctor’s office. He’d «seen the x-​rays.» To me, this failure to directly examine an injury, whether out of disinterest or his surety that there was no need to examine it based on his confidence in his read of the x-​rays (a first for me in a doctor’s office) to me fell short of Standard of Care.
He did accomodate me by showing me the x-​rays, when I asked. I asked whether surgery was necessary (hoping it’s not). After telling me I could wind up with problems w/​o it, there was no further information forthcoming.
While he correctly told his Medical Assistant to bring me an orthopedic boot to stabilize my foot, there was no follow-​through nor mention of crutches or a wheelchair — things I obviously need in order to get around. «We don’t have these here.» (Huh? If ever there was a place to have medical equipment, this seemed to be the place). I had to push for them to be ordered, explaining that my putting any weight whatsoever on my foot (whether in or out of the boot) was and is agonizing. I was surprised when he told me I could put my full weight on the booted foot. I use the word «surprisingly» as now, over a week after this visit, each time I’ve followed through on his advice I’ve wound up in agonizing pain that lasts hours.
There was no discussion/​education of what I could expect in terms of healing time. There was no mention of a follow up appt. to check the status of my injury (2 broken bones!). He spent little actual time with me as he was in and out of the room concurrently treating another patient in the examining room next to mine (loudly)
Positive: His A+ Medical Assistant, Yoana, Notably, she was attentive and caring. Most especially, she took the time and care to very gently place my fractured foot into the orthopedic boot. I greatly appreciated her empathy, kindness, competence and skill.
Negative: Dr. Smith: No exam, no education even basic care of my newly fractured foot — Ice? Heat? Elevation? Can I give my foot a rest from the boot? When can I drive? Course of healing? Follow up? — all this necessary info was missing I’d brought a pair of old crutches with me. There was no lesson on how to safely use them to avoid more falls. I particularly missed this instruction when I, w/​o any sign of help whatsoever, unsafely wobbled on them to the taxi from the building; Thankfully, I was caught by the taxi dver when I fell backward while trying to make it into my house. I fell twice more that evening.
I’m thankful that my wonderful physician followed up with me by phone later that night. Thanks to his attentive and thorough care, I was relieved to have the opportunity to have many of my concerns and questions answered.
A week later, still in agony, I made an appt. with Anne Marangoni, DPM. She thoroughly gently examed my foot and examined the x-​rays. Dr. Marangoni spent a lot of time with me explaining the nature of my injury, showing me charts and drawing on paper. She taught me to UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PUT WEIGHT ON THE BOOTED FOOT FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK, and then only on the heel. She had me take notes to refer to later as needed. I also learned how to ice (and for how long) along the artery to increase blood flow for healing. She gave me detailed instructions on what physical therapy to do in a week or two — depending on the swelling. And, she WRAPPED the foot in an ace bandage to stabilize it in the boot, showing me exactly the amount of tension needed and directing me to use the color of my toes as feedback (blue = restricted blood flow; pink = correct). I also learned from her to take Cal Mag D and why. I was instructed to keep my foot elevated above heart level — how and why. Follow up plans were made.
I will never return to or recommend Dr. Smith. The care I received from the two doctors was like night and day. It’s good to be in the light now, safe and on the right path to healing.
