Pleasantly surprised by this park, attended a bday party here. Tennis courts, basketball court, baseball field, a paved path circles the park for walking/jogging, a cabinet of books to read in front of the tennis court gate, bathrooms adjacent to the kids play areas, there seemed to be enough parking for 2 groups of 15 – 20 people who were having bday celebrations, 5 – 10 minutes from other Monterey attractions

This is a great park to come out to. There are many options for all. Outdoor tennis courts, nice trails, a lovely playground, baseball field and trails. Need to bring my basketball next time to check out the hoops! It is beautiful hidden gem near veterans park and downtown, a must go to for locals and tourist alike looking to relax and enjoy a day with many options available.

After being in town for a few weeks with my 2 year old son we were surprised at the lack of activities in the area for children. This park is perfect, clean, quiet and situated away from traffic so your kids can run around freely. Has your typical jungle gym along with a little baseball field and tennis court. Will be back.

Good alternative when dennis the menace is closed. Several benches, lots of picnic tables. Larger play structure areas have tree bark for the ground covering, smaller structure have sand. Tennis court and baseball field near by. Clean restroom available. It’s kind of tricky getting here though — definitely off the beaten path. Use reliable GPS. Mine was telling me I was there before I had arrived. I had to keep going. Once you’re there, nice little park!

This beautiful park is tucked away a few blocks above Monterey High School. I never really visited this park until I realized there were tennis courts on the premises. My gentleman friend frequented these courts and played with co-workers dressed as a 50’s tennis player in his whites… all he needed was a woody aka wooden racket. He is in luck, I have a collection of them. I showed up sans tennis shoes so I may have played barefoot(a big no no by the way) for a few minutes as I brought these boys chilled Gatorades and iced cold waters on that warm day. My favorite elderly Japanese lady lived on Via Paraiso so every time I see the park or the street name I think of her… she recently passed but I still smile every time I drive by the park and think of the made ways she used to make me smile.

I grew up going to this park everyday! I cant believe i am the first to Unilocal it! It is absolutely gorgeous :) Completely surrounded by huge pine trees, this park includes: a full basketball court, baseball field, volleyball court(with sand), 2 playgrounds, 2 tennis courts, multiple picnic areas, nice bathrooms, plenty of parking, & about a 1⁄3 mile tack that outlines the entire park. There is a 9 – 10 year old mustang baseball league that takes place there every summer. I could say that just about every baseball player that ever came out of Monterey grew their baseball roots right here in this park. Wow, bringing back some serious memories :)
