Battery Source

I’ve been using this store since they opened and until today never had anything but good service.
Today my wife went to get me a new UPS battery whilst I was a t work. She said the clerk was rude and thought it was strange when he grabbed what appeared to be a used battery from the window sill. She said «I’m no expert» so didn’t question it.
So I get home and install the new battery and determine it to be dead as a doughnut.
«Must be a mix up at the store» I tell myself and take the battery back. The clerk is rude to me and starts treating me like an idiot and initially refuses to make good.
I insist on talking to the manager who after some more indignant questioning finally authorizes a refund. I’m so mad at this point I can’t speak clearly. Finally get a refund and come home explaining to the Mrs. what happened. She describes to me the rude sales clerk, low and behold that is the same rude clerk who was refusing to help me. Turns out the manager lied to me when he claimed responsibility selling my wife the bad battery.
Either these guys have a scam going on to rip off unsuspecting customers or the rude clerk is working a rip off scam on his own.
Until today I would have recommended this store, now I don’t think so. I’ll be looking elsewhere for my batteries
