Call ahead to schedule private tours on days that we are closed. Texas Wolfdog Project and Shelter Inc. is an all volunteer and donation based rescue dedicated to saving as many wolfdogs and northern breed dogs in the State of Texas as humanly possible. This will be based off of available foster homes, suitable adoptive homes and of course, financial resources for veterinary care, transportation and basic care of the residents of Texas Wolfdog Project. We support responsible ownership and public education, as well as promoting education for other rescue groups, shelters and Animal Control facilities concerning proper wolfdog identification, evaluation and care.
History
Established in 2013.
In July 2013, Austin purchased the five acres on which TWPS sits and currently resides there taking care of the various residents along with his own northern breed dog, Snow. Since the inception of TWPS, Austin has lead efforts and obtained a 501c3 designation, volunteer rolls have grown to 25 – 30, and four large enclosures and one quarantine enclosure have been built by volunteers with donated funds and materials. Austin’s experience with his work with St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary and GHGSDR has been invaluable in getting TWPS off to such a successful start!
