I am both an Acupuncturist and a bodyworker, and mostly people come to me with pain issues — usually chronic pain. People give up hope when they think they have ‘gotten old’ and so they have to ‘just deal with it’. Usually, that is simply not true.
I have been a massage therapist for 20 years. I call what I do «deep Unraveling». It’s a hybrid of Deep Tissue work and Myofascial Release, with some trigger points and other therapeutic modalities mixed in. This works really well with the Acupuncture, and I usually do both in one session.
Acupuncture has remarkably little sensation — nothing like the hollow Doctor needles! Docs are either putting fluids in or taking them out of your body. Typically, 10 acupuncture ‘pins’ will fit into the opening of a normal syringe needle. Poking yourself with a sewing needle is much more exciting than acupuncture!
Whatever you come to Acupuncture for, the whole body is affected. So, your shoulder hurts and that is why you come to me, but in the process, you start sleeping better, or your digestion gets better — or both! Oriental Medicine takes the whole person into view — not just the hurting body part, but all of the body — and the emotions, and the mental processes.
I have more to say about all this on my website — AuthenticBody.net. Also, on this site, my massage business alone is listed under Authentic Body, so you can see my older reviews there.
History
Established in 2009.
My first massage memory is from 15 years old — but I started getting paid for bodywork in the late 80’s, and I became Nationally Certified in massage in 1994. I was licensed to do Acupuncture in NY State in 2006. My California acupuncture license was issued in 2013.

As I said, I have always been good with my hands. My other career was as a theatre technician — mostly props and wardrobe. The addition of Oriental Medicine means that I have more dimensions than one to help accelerate your healing process. I don’t ‘heal you’ — I get you unstuck so that your body can take over and get back into a healthy balannce.
