History

Established in 1963.

CCS Stone was started in a small warehouse in Paterson, New Jersey in 1963.

Donald Mitnick formed the company to pursue his passion for natural stone that was coming from Italy, Spain and Portugal at the time. He started importing marble into the United States and traveled around the world to develop new sources for marble, granite and other natural stones.

His sons grew up around the business and eventually began working full time. They continued to expand the company into slabs and fabrication, becoming New Jersey’s first MIA Accredited stone fabricator. The company has been an active member of the Marble Institute of America since 1985, and imports stone from over 25 countries around the world.

CCS Stone developed the Glassos® brand for their pure white crystallized glass, which is well known throughout the architectural and design communities.

Jonathan Mitnick is the current MIA Safety Committee Chair and volunteers his time to educate trade professionals on stone safety.
