No one likes going to the DMV, but it’s something that has to be done. We just moved to the area from New York and needed to get our brand-spanking new NC licenses. We had no choice but to go and deal with it. However, the customer service we received here was more than we expected. We initially went on Friday. I had looked online to see what we needed to bring, so we had all the materials. Now in NY, you would walk in, take a number, wait hours, and then finally get to talk to someone. That’s not how it works here. You actually get to talk to someone right away first, and they make sure you have everything in order before making you wait. It’s a good thing too, because I needed to bring in my birth certificate to clear up a mess with a middle name I don’t have, and my wife’s insurance card had her maiden name on it. Had this happened in NY, we would have waited two hours, gotten up there and been told to come back another day with the additional information. Thankfully we were told within five minutes that we were missing stuff, and I actually didn’t mind it. We came back today and had to wait about 2 hours 45 minutes before we both got through the process of waiting, having them enter our information into the computer, and taking the tests. You can’t get mad at that branch, as the DMV is what the government makes it as far as how many employees they hire. There are three working at this branch, and they each go to lunch one at a time, so between 11 – 2 there will only be two working at one time. Not their fault… people have to eat lunch. I hate going to the DMV. If this was any other location it would have gotten one measly star, and they could count themselves lucky for getting that much. Here, the people are a tad bit friendlier and the process is a bit more easy going and informative, so the experience wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
