Command Performance Catering

Our work holiday party was catered by this place and I can’t say I was impressed.
Most of the food was lukewarm & the «mashed potato» bar had almost exclusively cold toppings. Since the potatoes weren’t hot, the cold toppings just turned my bowl into a gloppy heap of «meh». And let me say, «meh» & «mashed potatoes» rarely come out of my mouth in the same sentence!
The 2 things I liked were the turkey on squaw sliders & the little truffle chocolates (so dense, so rich, so cravable!).
The rest of the food I tried (meatball (pork?) sliders, chicken skewers («satay»?), mashed potato bar, mini fruit tart & mini S’mores tart) left much to be desired.
Also the layout of the buffet was awkward & it slowed the line down to a crawl. Some people stood in line for easily 30 minutes to get mediocre appetizer food. Until I got to the end of the mashed potato bar, I didn’t even know there were separate bowls for the ‘taters.
Given all the great reviews, maybe there were having an «off» day?

My daughter was married at Hartley in July and the food and service by Command Performance was on of the highlights of the night. Throughout the planning stages, Trevor was responsive and accommodating to every request. He let us use our own table overlays and made sure everything was perfect. I don’t normally get excited about wedding food, but all our guests agreed that the food was superb – my sister is still talking about the macaroons! The entire staff worked so hard and made it look like fun. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Having good food at our wedding was a top priority for us — we’re big «foodies» and couldn’t imagine serving our guests the standard wedding menu.
I have been fortunate to have previously worked with the CPC team in my previous job — they have always served great food and have been exceptional partners. The service they provided to us for our wedding exceeded our expectations! Danny Margolis, Robert Yamada, and Chef Maya were so wonderful during the whole process. If we had a question, they responded quickly. If we had an issue, they had the solution. Plus, they worked within our budget without sacrificing service or quality. Robert even made sure that cocktails were ready for us and our wedding party after the ceremony, and that my husband and I had a plate of the appetizers.
The whole evening went smoothly, and our guests raved about the food during and after the wedding. We have nothing but great things to say about Command Performance. Thank you for helping make our wedding so memorable!

Everyone says you don’t have time to eat at your own wedding, but if Command Performance is your caterer, you will make time – even if it means skipping your first dance. Their food is that good.
CPC catered our August 2015 wedding at Walnut Grove, with Joe Thies serving as our extraordinary catering manager. Joe’s laid back demeanor was a breath of fresh air during the insanity of wedding planning, and his recommendations (from menu pairings to the unquestionable superiority of Luxardo cherries for a good old fashioned) were invaluable. From day one, Joe was very organized and accommodating (serving Persian tea, arranging a soy-​free vegan meal, working with our fluctuating guest count, etc.), and I will forever appreciate his patient responses to our tedious questions about cake forks and glassware.
On the day of, we were blown away not only by the incredible food, but also by the outstanding service. The waitstaff was friendly and professional, the bartenders were efficient and nailed our signature cocktails, and the very sweet, attentive Jessa met us with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the end of the aisle.
Speaking of hors d’oeuvres. .. we had the shrunken shrimp tacos, bacon-​wrapped goat cheese dates, and tomato soup & grilled cheese shots, along with a fresh fruit display (at my mother-in-law’s request). For dinner, we had BBQ short ribs, vintners chicken, mashed yukon gold potatoes, white cheddar jalapeño macaroni & cheese, haricots verts, farmers market salad, and carrot soufflé. We made time to try all of it, and it was all exceptional. (Everyone kept telling us it was the best wedding food ever. .. and keeps telling us, even months later.)
I only wish that CPC would open a restaurant so we could eat there every day.

Command performance catered our wedding in September at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. We worked with Trevor from the initial consultation and continued to be more and more impressed throughout our experience. He totally understood my husband and I and was on call at all times the day of to make sure we were getting what we needed… he even had apps and bourbon shots (our personal favorite) waiting for us in the suite right after the ceremony! Additionally, the food was just phenomenal all around. Even my mother (who hates buffets) could not stop talking about it. I’ve had multiple people say they want the recipes for the fig chicken and bbq short ribs (and jalapeño mac of course)! The bartenders were attentive and highly professional as well (and fun)! We could not have made a better choice for catering… And Trevor is the absolute best in the business.

We had our wedding at Eden Gardens in June and we beyond thrilled with every aspect of our day! We are so appreciative of the service we received and happy with the venue that we felt the only way to truly thank them is to review each aspect separately.
1. The location — Eden Gardens is simply stunning. The water features, fountains, greenery and flowers all contribute to make a picture perfect setting for a wedding or any other celebration. We looked at many sites before picking this one, and believe us when we say this one is memorable and unique.
2. The food — We had an Indian/​American fusion wedding and chef Maya absolutely outdid herself. She created a menu that included delicious Indian food right next to mouth watering braised short rib. Very creative, and all of our guests can’t stop talking about how delicious it was.
3. The service — All of the staff (Command Performance) were incredibly polite, helpful and made our guests feel comfortable. Have to mention the quality of the bartenders. They made our signature drinks (which were pretty involved) worthy of being served in the best craft cocktail bars in Los Angeles. Also, you will love working with Vince who goes above and beyond to take care of the bride and groom. Our glasses were always full!
4. Abby — Abby is a very special person. She worked with us for months, paying attention to every detail, to make sure everything was perfect and stress free on the big day. She is kind, funny, enthusiastic, constantly available and incredibly hard working. She was very accommodating with changes we made along the way, and did the most she could to make our money go further than we thought it would. And she doesn’t just sit at a desk, on the day of the wedding she was there before noon and stayed until the very end. Thank you — we know the day and the many months leading up to it would not have been nearly as seamless without you.

Thank you so much to Command Performance for making our wedding such a success! We got raving reviews about how great the food was from our guests, who kept telling us that they never expect wedding food to be good, but that ours was amazing. Our wedding was a little over a month ago. Command made sure to help us deal with all of our food needs, including not mixing milk and cheese, wanting a Mediterranean dinner, needing vegan and vegetarian options, etc. They were so responsive to every request we made and Danny, the owner, and Maya, the head chef, were both so kind, patient, and understanding about everything. We loved them and we loved the food and are so grateful. Thank you!!!

I don’t even know where to start but to sum up my experience with Command Performance It was absolutely a dream come true. Abby Leone, CP coordinator was amazing at helping us plan our wedding at Eden Gardens. Not only is she the sweetest most understanding person but she was willing to assist us with the many details of our wedding. She answered a million and one emails we sent her, through the process, in a timely manner. She was willing and able to accommodate us with as much as she could in order to help us attain our dream wedding. Command Performance impressed our guest. We still have guest telling how good and tender the chicken was. There was an abundance of food available. We chose Buffet style and guest expressed how organized and well put together the display of the food and serving process. Their menu of food choices is exquisite and to the taste of a variety of cultures. To the beginning of my wedding planning with them and till the end they were their to help and support. Hands down the BEST catering company I have ever encountered! We are so glad we stumbled onto Eden Gardens and were able to have CP cater our wedding.

You get what you pay for. After working with SEVEN other caterers (who all either had subpar food or last minute additional costs) command performance stood out. They were the talk of our wedding and made every effort to do a great job right until the last minute. The head chef even ran the bride (wife) food before the wedding just to keep her going.
The bartender brandon also had a great positive attitude that helped contribute to the great vibes of our wedding. If you want it done right, hit these guys up. They worked well with the table/​chair rental place we hired as well. Justin worked with us for weeks to build our menu. He was very professional and always upbeat and positive

Command Performance catered our wedding in August. Justin was impressively professional from the initial contact. He was always so patient, amiable and helpful. I was one of those brides with a bazillion questions, switching back and forth on menu items; Justin was always very accommodating and helped with creative inspiration and suggestions. He worked very well with my wedding planner and partner vendors. Justin along with Chef Chris created a spectacular wedding menu. Our guests are still raving about the short ribs, pistachio sea bass, jalepeno mac n cheese, lamb horderves. We also had a cheese display which was out of this world delicious and a scrumptious desert table with mini blueberry pies and strawberry shortcakes. The service was superb, Justin visited our venue to offer suggestions of layout, staging and event experience. On the day of the wedding, Command Performance came extra early to setup, the chef introduced himself to me and made sure I ate a special bridal platter for energy. Our bartender Brandon was also standout awesome and very patient. What I remember most from the service is how the staff was positive, genuinely kind and accommodated our guests. The entire catering experience was awesome, command performance delivers quality food and service!
The tasting day was also very well done. Chef Maya tried to make a special Persian menu tasting for me which really meant a lot to me. Chef Maya was very knowledgeable and made the most memorably savory chicken kebob. I highly recommend CP and would hire them again for a future celebration!

They are hands down the absolute best you could hire. Our wedding day was absolute perfection because of the team at Command Performance. Not only was the food and service spectacular, but these guys provided help and guidance along the way, ensuring we had everything we wanted. From rentals to going out of their way to ensure the dance floor fit properly, our private estate wedding was almost entirely put together by the staff at Command. Anne, Kirk and all of their crew were unbelievable in making this a magical experience. Almost every guest we had is still raving over the food and the presentation. I only wish I could do it all again! Thank you for making our special day so perfect You are truly a wonderful company with so much passion for the craft!

Command Performance is incredible! Annette, Justin, Keith and the entire team are just stellar. They are all gracious, kind, flexible, smart and utterly delightful. They always over staff a bit and have extra linens and are just plain easy going. Thank you again for all your hard work on your many events held here at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. Everything was wonderful today at my father in law’s funeral reception! Thank you so much. The staff was great, everything set up perfectly. It was so nice to have everything handled so professionally and seamlessly.

CPC delivered amazing food for our wedding and everyone commented on how delicious the food was (short ribs and sea bass). People literally asked for seconds at our wedding because the food was that good! The sea bass melted in your mouth… But the best part of CPC was hands-​down working with Trevor. He’s so good at his job and making sure you’re happy with every detail. On our wedding day, Trevor constantly checked in on us and made sure we were taken care of. We are so thankful to have worked with him, he made our wedding great!

Command performance catered my wedding and I could’nt be more satisfied! The chef was very accommodating. I wasn’t feeling good at my wedding and the chef ran over to me and offered me some water and sprite. unfortunately I didn’t get to taste the food, but all the guests told me that it was the best wedding food.

WOW!!! Command Performance did our daughters wedding at Gerry Ranch in Camarillo. It was so good! Everything was perfect. No glitches, no issues. The wait staff did such a good job! They kept things moving and the appetizers were ample and the servers covered everyone. The main meal was superb and just the right amount of food. Melanie was our lead person and made sure things happened! If you have an event, use these guys!

Absolutely amazing! Used them for my wedding at Walnut Grove. Joe was very helpful and easy to work with. The staff was amazing and so attentive. I have been in hospitality and in the restuarant and customer service industry, so good service is something I have come to really appreciate.
Before the wedding, one of the girls came in consistly to provide drinks. After the ceremony, they had apps and drinks waiting for my husband and I and continued to serve us through the night and make sure we had drinks and were having a good time.
Besides excellent service, the food was to die for! Everyone was telling us how delicisous everything tasted and how much they enjoyed the rentals provided by CPC. Highly recommend them!

We used Command Performance for our September wedding. It was an event for 135 people. What wonderful things can I say about them that haven’t already been said? They are the real deal.
Joe was a constant professional and worked so hard to make our wedding perfect. I gave him pictures of how I wanted things to look and he and his team made them come to life.
The day of our wedding, Joe and his staff went out of their way to make sure my new husband and I got to try all of the food, which was great because we got to taste all of the food that our guests were raving about! The highlights of the night were the bacon wrapped scallops, zinfandel braised short ribs and a mac & cheese bar complete with 2 different types of mac & cheese, mix-​ins and cheese sauce to pour on top (good suggestion Joe!) Joe even showed up early to make sure everything was set-​up right. Everything looked and tasted great for our wedding. What else could a bride ask for?
One reviewer had mentioned previously a slowness in communication. I noticed that a little towards the beginning as well. However, when I said something about it to Joe in passing, he gave me his personal cell number and was always reachable after that. In fact, he even did 2 walk throughs with us before the wedding. All in all, they are a five star organization and I’m so glad that we used them for our event! Thanks Joe for all of your hard work. The day was incredible.

We had our wedding at Walnut Grove in Moorpark in September 2014 and Command was the on-​site caterer at our venue. We worked with Joe through all the pre-​wedding planning and had Wes as our catering manager on our wedding day. They did a spectacular job at our wedding. Everything was perfect… from setting up all the tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception, serving our guests, and setting up our dessert table. All the staff were so friendly and professional. Joe was so great to work with through all the planning. He was always so honest and always had our best interest in mind. He was always focused on helping us make our special day perfect. Joe was also very responsive through emails and phone, and worked very well with our coordinators to make sure everything would go as planned on our wedding day. Thanks Joe and Command!

I just got married last Saturday (7÷26÷14) and am thrilled to write an absolutely glowing review for Command, our incredible caterer.
I’ve been working with Joe and the Command team for over a year now. We hosted 155 guests in Santa Barbara at a private estate and wanted superior food. Our requests were not easy, but Command made it seem like a piece of cake! After recently becoming gluten free I also wanted a menu with G-​free options for myself and guests and they delivered! Joe and the lead chef created a nearly ALL GLUTEN FREE menu! It. Was. PHENOMENAL.
We chose to serve everything family style– and our guests loved it. Nearly every person told me it was «the BEST food they’ve ever had at a wedding.» We also decided to forgo cake (F**K CAKE!) and do a legit chocolate fondue set up. It was just beautiful. As guests first entered, we also had a lemonade stand set up with different lemonades and it was gorgeous.
Most importantly, I loved having such a solid point person in Joe. He was consistently on top of our needs, connected us to a great liquor vendor and worked seamlessly with our rentals company, A Rental Connection.
I whole-​heartedly recommend Command if you’re looking for incredible food that tastes like it’s from a 5-​star restaurant, not a run of the mill catering company. Thanks again Command! Best. Night. Ever.
