Chris does a great job for a fair price. He knows that, unlike a bad hair cut, badly trimmed trees are not so easily managed or fixed. Chris was able to thin out the trees around my house to allow for more sunlight while maintaining privacy. It wasn’t easy to juggle both priorities. I’m impressed.

Chris and his crew did beautiful work this morning. We had three very large trees that just seemed to have a mind of their own, unruly and misshapen. This afternoon the trees are beautiful, the sunlight is filtering in and we know they’ve been cared for professionally. Every bit of debris is gone, there’s nothing to clean up. We’ll definitely refer Chris and his crew. Thank you.

Chris Bowen did an excellent job in helping us decide which trees to remove and which to prune. His pricing was very fair. He and his two man crew worked efficiently and quickly, and they ended up doing more work for us than we originally agreed — without charging more.

Used Bowen tree service to remove two cypress trees and a large Australian bush cherry. Did a great job. Rey reasonable price and trimmed a few other trees that needed it. Wouldn’t use anyone else.

I had Chris over to trim my large Camphor tree in front of my house. He did a very nice and neat job and seemed very knowledgeable about this particular tree. I’ll definitely use his services again.

I would definitely NOT recommend Christopher Bowen to any of my friends, family or clients.
My neighbor hired him to remove a large problematic tree that had dropped a large branch for the second time in my yard. I insisted on meeting whomever she hired knowing that they would have to be on my property with chain saws and things dropping on my stuff. I wanted to hear first hand what the game plan was as I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly in 30 years of working with contractors. I know once they start they can get blinders on to all else till its over and it’s too late. I know things go better when there is clarity up front on all aspects of the project for all concerned. Well that was a waste of time!
I guess on his first visit to their side of the property he had not even noticed that there was any way to removed the bulk of this huge tree and debris on their side.
When he came back to meet me he was so stressed out that it took me pointing it out to him and giving leading directions to get some clear course of action. My neighbor on the other side and I asked him for a bid on doing a large extensive trim on the overgrown hedge between us at the same time they would be there for the tree– knowing that having the gear there and the chipper was half the set up cost. We all agreed on how low the top should come down to our windowsill height– a point of reference Chris made. He gave us a decent price which we accepted. Since he seemed so stressed and distracted (he said due to a family emergency that day) I still felt a bit at uneasy with having him and the crew do the work which was going to have to hall happen on my property without me there. So we schedule it when I would be.
It was a long long day of feeling like I had to check in and do a lot of ego stroking to a demanding patronizing male «professional». He is a heart attack waiting to happen.
Well his guys did a great job removing the tree. But did Break my compost bin and leave piles of debris that they were blowing at the end into «hidden side areas I did not notice till I had to spend a day cleaning up what they left behind later.
The hedge was left two feet taller than we had all agreed on. This Chris personally worked on himself. When I mentioned this I got a whiny explanation about it was too late he was already almost done, would I be ok with taking $ 100 off? I could tell after babysitting and doing all that yucky ego stroking that I was not going to get any better. I felt a bit taken hostage by his chaotic nature and super stress energy. His yelling fight with my third neighbor also did not add to anyone’s day especially those of us trying to work in the office near by. Chain saws are fine but aggressive yelling is worse.
So I was left with a hedge two feet taller than we agreed on, and found out later that my side had not been cut back on the sides the foot I asked. A full day of clean up for all the tree debris they did not REMOVE and a broken compost bin which I still have yet to have the time to buy a new one. Tried fixing the one they broke but missing pieces from the corner make that impossible. So yeah NO 4^th of July BBQ in my back yard till I have a day off to go buy and set up a new compost bin. In the meantime hello neighborhood wildlife!
Chris had mentioned dropping off one he had he did not use but YEAH right LIKE THAT HAPPENED! Avoid the hassle and added problems.
There are too many good contractors out there that will not make you work this hard. The one star is for his CREW. Wish I could hire them alone.
