I came here with a friend and her baby. He was having an off evening and was crying, the gentleman waiting on us acted like we inconvenienced him cause the baby was crying. Let’s be real, he was probably crying because of your attitude dude. He got us our box and check before we even finished the eating and the baby was silent.

The sushi was fantastic — the rest of the menu not so much. The clear soup was even brown, lol. Very limited beer selection and service wasn’t overly friendly or helpful(may be a language barrier thing). Probably excellent for the area but if you are looking for top notch Japanese fare, this isn’t it. Decent enough and I would come again.

Went here for our last crew lunch before the 2nd to last interview of the day. I ordered the chicken fried rice and the wait had taken about 15 minutes! They also serve squid and octopus, both of which I wanted to try; however, did not want my stomach to feel ill as we still had 4 hours of camera shooting to do.

I am highly impressed at the quality of food I consistently get when I visit this establishment. Points, especially, go to presentation. They plate their food, here, like professionals. Favorite appetizers include the lobster rangoon(good ratio of crust and filling), their calamari(crispy and never rubbery or greasy), and their soft shell crab. The hibachi is not done live. You don’t get a show with your food, but it’s still delicious, and the prices are super reasonable. The largest ticket item on the hibachi is $ 18, with comparable dishes at other Japanese restaurants adding up to $ 25 or $ 30. The Bento Boxes are a good option if you want to try several things at once. Of their special dishes, I highly recommend the Red Snapper.

We stopped by while we cross the country. Ordered four special rolls: volcano roll, whiter tiger roll, yummy roll and out of control roll. All of them are great! Specially the mi so soup: have lot of seaweed and tofu in the soup. Not like other cheap sushi place! The price is acceptable for sushi. I will definitely go back if I am not just drive by… but I heard that the boss is from Columbus. Have friends there so will visit their restaurant there for sure!

My favorite place to eat in town! Everyone must try the Yamato roll! Even non-sushi lovers would like it. Great variety. Prices aren’t bad especially if you order the bento box.

I tried Yamato for a take out order, I ordered the steak & shrimp along with their Boston roll. The portions of steak and shrimp were a little skimpy but for take out standards it was all awesome. The fried rice and vegetables were seasoned to perfection and as far as the sushi goes it was again a small portion but fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

What a find! Just happened to stop in one evening and what a restaurant. The food, particularly the rock shrimp, were top notch. Excellent restaurant, food quality is as good as any for miles around. Look forward to going again.

Good food Great service. We walked in the door a half an hour before closing and we were seated and never rushed. The sushi was expertly prepared and the main meal for me was the Sea Scallops which were perfectly cooked to where the melted in my mouth. Great place. Compares to places in bigger cities like Lexington or Huntington.

I stumbled upon this gem while in Morehead on business. I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was served the best Chirashi sushi I have ever had. The presentation was gorgeous, the ingredients fresh and the blend of flavors, textures and colors came together in a playful, layered and complex experience. The tempura ice cream was interesting, sweet but not cloying, with a batter vaguely reminiscent of pancakes, with a green tea ice-cream that is anything but subtle. I may be back tomorrow night.

The sushi served in this town competes with the best of nearby Lexington. I absolutely love the Melinda Roll. It proves that Yamato gets tempura right. The hibachi, noodle and rice dishes are very yummy. They do Japanese primarily with some Asian fushion thrown in. Oishii means delicious.
