A Natural New U

I can’t believe I forgot to write a review for Tandra and A Natural New U. The shop is really clean and color-​coordinated. All the equipment is up-​to-​date and efficiently placed in the shop. Ms Tandra is great, she discusses your hair and gives advice. She did a take down and full head weave. She will let you know she braids tight. I was ok with that because my grandma had a heavy hand. As she braids she will continue to ask if you are ok and/​or if the braid is too tight, she takes the same care when installing the weave. She does not leave a huge lump in your head and she takes her time and styles to fit your face. She is awesome and I will be back in March for the same. I will also take my daughter for locs. Her and her daughter’s locs were very nice and even. I thought it was natural hair out, but it was small locs. I give her five stars because she totally deserves it!!#

First time visit after reviewing great comments & pictures from Unilocal.Had a wonderful experience with Tandra. She did my color, protein treatment, flat iron & trim. Hair looked fabulous! Will definitely be back!

Funny how Gwen L. had such a horrible experience at A Natural New U Salon because I’ve been there numerous of times and NEVER have I once experienced that. I have followed this salon to all of its locations, so yes they know what they are doing. I have had my hair done by each of the stylist and trust me I have thick beautiful hair that not all stylist can handle. But every time I get out of one of their chairs I look and feel amazing. They’re always laughing and joking and ALWAYS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY. And as far as Tandra she’s my stylist and she constantly ask if my hair is to tight while she is braiding and before she sews in my hair. I go in for weaves all the time and I’m in and out within 3 hrs and that’s with deep conditioning treatment before I get my weaves put in. She always ask is there anything you’ll like for me to change on every occasion. Also you should be happy that she had someone else take down your hair and prep you to get you out faster. When you go to a busy hair salon you are going to hear all types of conversations going on around you so for you to expect it to be silent like a library you should stay away. I also highly doubt that your hair is falling out do to the fact you said you were trying to fix on your hair your self and have probably burned it all out and who pays to get their hair done and don’t speak up if they don’t like something about it But to each their own.

Jackie is the BIZ! She really knows how to manage my hair without heat damage. This salon really cares about your natural hair!

My first time here and I loved it. Atmosphere was positive and lively. Very professional as well. My appt was with Jackie. I was very happy from my shampoo to the end of my service. My time there felt more like I was just having a good time with good people instead of feeling like just another client.

I am new to the Area and was looking for a Nail Shop… After viewing Unilocal on Yesi’s work… I had to come see her. The Salon is a Down to Earth Mom & Pop type shop. The Ladies are sweet and specialize in textured hair services and braiding! Yesi is very sweet… And very skilled in her craft. She took me in right away in a walk in basis. Yesi is very detailed in her work… And her pride shows through. I would have given 5 stars but there was a polish issue… I think the polish I picked was a bit old… Took forever to dry and it did bubble even after going back to see Yesi. Totally not her fault! I love the shape of my coffin nails… And really the defect in the polish is really most likely noticeable by me.

Wow where do I even start! I found this place by searching Unilocal for a place that does nails closer to home. I’m glad I found Yesi as she is fabulous and does a great job. I’ve had my nails done by her twice with special requests on design and free hand art.
My first nail experience was wonderful and I left happy with a big smile. She pays good attention to detail and she is honest in letting you know if she can do something and will also give suggestions. I like her time and patience she takes to the great work she does. She first did my nails to a Pittsburgh theme to include my football team the Pittsburgh Steelers and also baseball for the Pirates. I received so many compliments for her wonderful job.
I recently went back for a full set with a Halloween theme nightmare before Christmas and I super love it. Again she always leaves me with a smile. I would highly recommend her to anyone as she does an amazing job and pretty much she can do anything. Her specialty is art, 3D, free hand designs, ETc. She is a master at anything you ask

Went In To Get My Nails Done After Reading The Reviews On Here. GREAT PLACE! Everyone Is So Nice. VERY Clean Place. Yesi Did My Nails. She Is AMAZING! I Wanted Something Halloween Theme & She Came Up With The Perfect Design For Me. Nails Are Shaped Perfectly, Polish Is Clean, & Design Is Beautiful. Will Definitely Be Going Back!

I’ve got my nails done by Yesi a couple times now she does a great job! Takes her time she’s very neat very clean and patient.
And her pedicures are the best she gave me the best foot massage I’ve ever had lol!
I highly recommend her!
And prices are very decent.

My husband found this salon for me while doing an emergency Unilocal search. Another ‘stylist’ had canceled on me the morning of my appointment. So I was very upset because it was after work on a Saturday night (6pm) and I had birthday plans for the weekend. I do not get my hair done often so this was a big deal for me.
(1^st visit 8−2−15)
Anyway, my husband did a Unilocal search and called ‘A new you’ to see if I could be fit in. I was able to get a Sunday morning appt with Maria. She was awesome & very accommodating! Sundays hours are only by appointment any way but in my situation it was less than 12 hour notice!
I have since returned to have my hair done by Maria. She did an awesome job on my hair. Maria is friendly and attentive. I had red highlights put in and when I got home I noticed the highlight did not stick to some parts & bleach blond was showing. I called Maria right away & she did my next touch-​up appointment for free!
I never felt comfortable at other salons but Maria and Tandra were very nice and welcoming my first time. Each other time that I have returned all the stylists have been nice as well. I like the variety in the services that are available, seems like they do all hair styles and types: flat iron/​press, dreds, weaves, braids, color, relaxers and there is even a nail technician. I would (& have already) recommend this salon to others.

Yesi did an outstanding job on my gel manicure. She takes her time and is a perfectionist. My nails were cleaned, trimmed and shaped beautifully. I got a French tip gel and they were all shaped perfect. I will be back for more appointments. Thank you yesi!

Everybody in the shop can do Hair… Tandra is awesome for locs. She will have your locs looking great! Started out with straight hair and now I have Sisterlocs, The best Natutal Hair Salon in town!!!

Maria has done my relaxer two times now and I love her! She’s fun, and very professional. My hair was damaged and in need of some TLC. It’s growing and has stopped breaking! Yeah!!! Her massaging shampoos are sooo relaxing (I moaned out loud a little)! I will definitely be going back to Maria.

Where do I start? I cannot speak to the other reviews posted on here for this «salon» but I can say that my experience with Tandra was not acceptable or professional. She clearly has little to no skill with regard to installing front closures with multiple parts otherwise I have to believe she would have done better than what was done to me. I am looking for a way to post a pic of what I asked for and what she actually did. The current outcome looks VERY unnatural which is kind ironic considering the name of the shop is a Natural New U.
RUN far and fast if you want a weave with any sort of multi-​part front closure.
As an aside, this was the text I sent to her to inform her of my dissatisfaction:
«This is Tonya, you tried to do my hair yesterday. I am sure you could tell that I was NOT happy when I left your salon but I wanted to let you know specifically. The outcome you provided was NOT what I asked you for. If you weren’t good with front closures of that kind, you should have made that known. If the style I showed you wasn’t something you could accomplish, you should have said that, or, if the style I picked wasn’t going to come out the way I envisioned for whatever reason, you should have said that. I didn’t complain that you were an hour late starting on my hair but to pay over $ 500 (including the hair) and to be unhappy to the point I have to wear a hat in public is just unacceptable. I think if you could have done better, you would have, so I’m not sure there is anything you can do for me at this point. I just wanted it on record that I am not a satisfied customer.»

Maria hooked my hair up with scalp treatments, hot oil and a flat iron/​press. I’ve seen a difference in just one month I have silky hair and it’s growing a lot! I highly recommend her!

I love my nails! I am always able to get an appointment with Dafne. I love that I don’t have to wait. Dafne always does the design that I ask for and puts in the extra effort to make her clients happy. Definitely recommend!

A Natural New U Salon is like a second home. When you walk in to the salon all of the stylist there will greet you!
Jackie does my hair and has been for over 15 years. Jackie also does both of my daughters hair. I have had short cuts, ponytails, weaves, relaxers and color. Miss Jackie is one of the most professional stylist I know in the I.E. Jackie is well educated on any product she uses on your hair. My hair is healthy and she keeps up with all of the latest trends.

I am new to this area and decided to go to A Natural New U based on Unilocal Reviews. I met with Channel at 730 at night. I love that this isn’t your typical salon with «Business Hours!» The stylists take clients as early as 4 am, if needed, and take late appointments!
I have very thick, very curly hair and Channel did an amazing job with it!
It typically takes stylists 4 HOURS to straighten my hair and it costs $ 80 because it has some length to it.
Channel washed, conditioned, deep conditioned, blow dried, straightened, and cut my hair in 2 and ½ hours! AND all for $ 45! She charges a flat rate!
My hair was perfect afterwards! It was straight and smooth! I couldn’t have asked for better!
If you’re looking for a great flat iron… look no further! Go see Channel!!!
