Gotta love Unilocal.I’d spent a couple of hours trying to diagnose a smog issue with a friends BMW to no avail. Based on reviews here I suggested he bring his 330i to Certified to get help. Although neither of us had been to the shop before and didn’t have an appointment, Keith immediately grabbed his scanner and said ‘let’s see what we can find out’. Turns out we had put enough ‘drive cycles’ in as recommended by BMW for the sensors to reset, so the problem had cleared, but I felt compelled to highlight how accommodating Keith was, how readily willing to jump in and offer a hand. I work on my own street and race cars so it’s an extremely rare event for me to visit an auto repair facility. With a critical eye I looked around the shop and it’s obvious he maintains a clean, orderly, well run operation. Keith conveys a calm professionalism that will put anyone at ease. As I’ve told my friends and family, if I can’t help you with your car-​related issue, take it to Certified. Recommend without reservation.

It was the start of Spring Break family trip when our serpantine belt snapped on the road. We Unilocal the nearest auto repair and found Certified Auto. It was one of the best experience I ever had. The gentleman was by himself with many customer. After hearing we broke down on the trip, he immediately helped us and identify the issue. We were back on the road after 2hours (1hour 15min wait for parts). To me this is truly a 5 star experience! If the shop was close by our house, I will be a long time return customer!!!

My car didnt pass smog but Kevin was so helpful and give so information that im going to go back again and tell people about him and me and my daughter fell in love with his dog smoky

I take all my vehicles and all our company’s vehicles to cac and never had had an issue. Couldn’t say the same for other places locally. The owner looks for solutions to problems and issues and doesn’t think twice about going the extra mile for a customer. All the mechanics are also very smart and hard working. The only downside is that he is busy and calling ahead of time is the best way to go.

My car had been broken into and my window smashed. Keith made some calls and got back to me quickly with an estimate of the window plus labor, which was very reasonable. I highly recommend Certified Auto Care for your car needs!

I’ve been taking my cars here for smog checks for a few years now. In and out in 15 minutes. Appointments are recommended for fast service. One of my vehicles didn’t pass smog one year. Keith explained the work that had to be done and the cost. He broke down his hourly rate to smaller increments and instead of charging me two hours of labor, he broke it down to 1.25 hrs. Keith is very honest, proffesional, and courteous.

The owner was extremely helpful when I called last week telling him I needed to take my car in to be smogged for registration. He got me in first thing the next morning and told me what to bring. He was very polite and very nice. He got me in and out pretty quickly and I was on my way! And you can’t beat waiting with a huge dog sitting there wanting to be loved!!!

Idk, if they still have it but if you check in they install new windshield wipers.

HONEST MECHANIC!!! Thumbs up for the (unnecessary) job not performed. Here is my story: I had a noise coming from front that I self-​diagnosed to be a wheel bearing. Brought my car in for emergency service as I had to drive to LA the next day and had just read up about how dangerous worn-​out wheel bearings could be. Keith called me up and said he thinks there is nothing wrong with bearings. There was some kind of noise, possibly coming from transaxle. So we ended up not performing any job that day. (I would have thought some other mechanic would have used an opportunity to make a quick $ for just swapping out the bearings and later claiming that it was based on my own diagnostics.) What I love about this shop is that Keith allows me to come to the shop floor to see and diagnose the problems together — I’m kinda hands-​on and hate the places where you can only talk to the «service advisor» but not to the actual guy doing the job. I like to discuss things that concern my car. On top of that, the car was up on the lift and Keith spent at least 15 – 30 mins on this, he did not charge for it, even though I offered. In summary — highly recommended honest local mechanic!

First off, Keith is a solid dude. I came here to have some codes cleared on a BMW. Keith did it solid job even though the vehicle was having some issues. He is knowledgable and everything is fairly priced. I would recommend this shop for any work you need to your vehicle.

We met the owner Keith on a different kind of business level and have used him for our car care/​smog care for years after. He’s personable, honest and willing to help. For a time it was just smog and even when times were slow all around, he was still willing to help out with questions my husband might have, even over the phone. If you are lucky you’ll get a hello from his sweet big black dog! There is a sign in the office that says something to the effect that cheap service doesn’t mean good service, it’s true, sometimes in ANY car repair it’s hard to see that bill, but I feel confident each time that Keith isn’t fleecing his customers and genuinely likes his job and enjoys helping out. Highly recommend!

Just took my vehicle in for smog test and had a great experience with Santa Clara County Smog Test-​Only. I called ahead and Keith, the owner, was very helpful and even offered me a coupon discount even though I didn’t have one. He put my name down and when I arrived he and Smokey (his trusty canine sidekick) got my SUV in and on the machine and processed my paperwork efficiently. Waiting area is clean with beverages, magazines and seating but didn’t get to enjoy it much since he was able to get me out so quickly :)

Took in my ’97 suburban for the smog check/​test/​certification. Reasonable price (I didn’t realize there was the whole «Test Only» thing for CA!).
In addition to the quick turnaround and quite friendly service … we kept putting off (or forgetting) replacing the battery, which was dying/​dead (we kept having to use a portable to start the car). He obviously noticed this and offered to change it while we were there.
He also recognized my name from having my dad come in for years.
Personable and friendly service, not to mention decent prices… we’re happy and would recommend CAC again!

Owner, Keith, answered the phone when I called, and answered all my questions… some before I asked ;) His price was lower for my MDX smog test than some of the places I checked in San Jose. I had an expired coupon for $ 15 off, that he mentioned about the coupon available before I had a chance to ask. Yes, he honoured the expired one :) The waiting area is very tidy and clean, with a water tank, in case you need to rehydrate ;) Great price, friendly service, and close to home.
