We are a small hometown bakery that specializes in scrumptious Breakfast Pastries, Huge Cinnamon Buns with Cream Cheese Frosting, Gourmet Cupcakes, Cake Pops, Cookies and so much more! We ship in NY bagels, as my husband is a New Yorker and couldn’t live without the real NY Bagels.

We pride ourselves on our customer service. We want this to be a DestinatioN not just a stop on a trip! We will do everything we can to keep you happy, serve only the best quality and always serve it up with a smile!

Our claim to fame is our Custom Cakes and Wedding Cakes. We can re-​create something you have in mind or help you design your own. Cupcakes are a huge wedding accessory right now and we can help you with custom decorated cupcakes as well for the big day!

History

Established in 2012.

This started as a dream from a retail home bakery that outgrew it’s walls. We found a building that was in major need of a facelift, from the floor to the ceiling and with the help of friends, family and a ton of blood, sweat and tears we gutted the building, fixed it up and made it the bright spot on the map that it is today! Our shop has been featured in Southern Living magazine for an article about Morganton, we have been featured on Discover America’s Bakeries and have numerous visits from local political leaders, out of state customers, out of country customers and of even a couple of Country Music Stars! We have the autographs and Pictures to prove it.

We pride ourselves on giving back to our community by donating our day old items to the local shelters, soup kitchens, children’s homes, etc… We can’t stand the way corporate America throws perfectly good food away when it could be feeding the hungry, so we do our part to try and make a small difference.

Business Owner

Born and raised right here in Morganton. Comes from a family of bakers and decorators, knew it was in her blood but had no idea she would do this for a living until unemployment hit hard!

Married to her best friend for the last 16 years. The couple is happily «owned» by 3 amazing rescue dogs that they call their babies.

Just a real everyday couple, struggling to make ends meet and keep local folks employed. Keeping the money in our community and being proud to help do that!

absolutely love stopping here before heading up the mountain to visit family! they have so many different delicious flavors, and crazy choices at a good price! if we ever are out shopping in town we always stop here for our little treats! they have more than just cupcakes & i haven’t had a thing there that i didn’t love. the staff there is so sweet as well!

They updated their register system making purchases so much easier! The food is amazing as always, and I really love that they updated their loyalty cards to include bagels which is my favorite. I almost never give 5 stars and was very tempted to give one here, but when you read their rules in the store they make me feel uncomfortable like anything may set them off.

My Local Bakery baked cupcakes for our wedding this weekend and they were amazing! Great service and great tasting cupcakes! Turtle and caramel apple pie flavors are a must for those who enjoy caramel.

I stopped in here one afternoon just to try one of their gourmet cupcakes. I ordered a few different cupcakes and took my box home for my family to try them as well. They have a large variety of all kinds of goodies: cake pops, cookies, bread, cupcakes, pies, bagels, etc. It’s a little clustered when a good crowd gets in there, everyone is getting in each others way trying to look at the products, order and get back out the door. I guess that’s just a sign of good business. The cupcakes were delicious, except one– the snickers cupcake– it was WAY TOO SWEET! I felt like I needed to go to the Dentist immediately to check for cavities! It was the kind of sweet that makes you feel sick. I have eaten cupcakes from here one time since then, but these were plain vanilla and chocolate with traditional icing on them. They do beautiful work (you can find them on FB), but I feel their prices are a little high. I had a friend call about cupcakes (regular ones) for a birthday party and it was $ 20-​$ 25 for a dozen (I think), they decided to just go with a local grocer’s bakery and paid $ 10-​$ 13 for more than two dozen cupcakes. Honestly, the plain cupcakes from the grocer were just as delicious as the plain ones I had eaten here. I would recommend this bakery if you were looking for gourmet cupcakes or specialty bakery items.

man oh man is this bakery killer! It’s probably good I don’t live closer. We bought a dozen cake pops for my nieces for Christmas. The girls loved em. My husband and I bought some treats of our own and everything was delicious!

Oh my gosh! Several of my friends had been to this bakery and suggested my husband and I try it. We got a variety box of cupcakes and each one was very good. They were moist and the homemade icing was delicious. My favorite cupcake was the Reece cup. We will definitely return and would recommend to anyone. Best bakery ever!

This place is phenomenal. Their variety and high quality products put them ahead of the game. The staff is very friendly and they have no problem taking time to answer any questions you have. We go at least once a week, and we try something new every time!

This is a cute little locally owned bakery. They have 3 glass cabinets with so many delicious looking treats; from cupcakes, to cookies to cannolis, to turnovers. It took my mom and me nearly 15 minutes to decide what we wanted to try. We ended up getting 2 cannolis and a chocolate cream cheese turnover to share. The cannoli was the perfect size, it was really rich but so yummy. The turnover was so big that we could only share half of it and take the other half home. We couldn’t leave without getting something to take home with us either. We grabbed a pumpkin spice cupcake and red velvet cupcake which were neatly packaged in a cute little pick cupcake box. Prices were great as well.
All the staff were so friendly and not pushy with sales; instead we were allowed to browse the options and ask questions. They have several tables inside to enjoy your treats at or you can choose to seat at one of there tables on the sidewalk.
Seemed that they have some different options everyday and can like them on Facebook to find out what they will have on any given day. Oh — and there is a minimum of $ 5 to use debit/​credit cards (which Should NOT BE AN ISSUE — ITS TOO YUMMY!)
