I read the reviews before checking in and was hesitant so I asked to see a room. And while I will admit that it’s old and tired I had no problems with the cleanliness. I stay in hotels frequently and mostly budget hotels and I even have to say the bathroom was clean behind the toilet. It was just a place to stop by and grab a few hours of sleep on a long drive from the north to the south. Thanks Econolodge for being average and cheap

Told me false cancelation policy. I was told 6 PM the night before. I called 4 days prior and they tell me it was a 14 day cancelation policy for that weekend, I was not told that when I made my reservation, in fact I was told I could cancel up until 6 PM the night before.

Well… lets just say «YUCK». We went for parents weekend and at the last minute decided to bring our dogs. We were so pleased that this hotel would allow pets and had space available. That should have been our first clue. I did read the reviews on line and threw caution to the wind… we did not stay for the second night, one was bad enough! The place was a rat trap… dirty does not even come close. The open air halls leading to the rooms were sooooo creepy and dirty and I have not even gotten to the room yet! When we entered we were greeted with the stench of cigarette and god only knows what else (we did ask for a smoke free room)…the beds were wrapped in bedbug coverings, but that did not cover the fact that there were toenail clippings and dead bugs on the floor! I was afraid to put the dogs down… it was late so we decided to risk it… We did not get any sleep. The next morning we went over to shooneys for breakfast… its in your best interest to skip that treasure chest of grossness.
I will have to give them kudos for the fact that they did not charge me for the second night and also took an extra 20 dollars off the first night. This has taught us that we will board the dogs for future stays and book at the Clarion in downtown Morgantown.
