I’m writing this review exclusively for the sushi here. I stopped here for lunch and got three sushi rolls: spicy tuna, spicy California, and a philly roll. All three were sub-par. Compared to other sushi spots around town, and I’ve tried most, this has certainly been the worst I’ve had in Morgantown. The nori was unusually tough and chewy, so much to the point that I actually could not even eat it at all. The ingredients for the sushi overall were just poor quality, and it is noticeable. I would not recommend anyone to get sushi here.

We stumbled upon this place on accident when name mmy fiancé thought a super eight was a grocery store ha ha oh well. what a great find here in the Morgantown area. We decided to give them a chance tonight and we were not disappointed we made reservation for 430 and approximately 440 we were being seated. our waitress was extremely attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty we had the steak hibachi and the shrimp hibachi. The steak was cooked perfectly, my shrimp was amazing!!! In fact I would say it’s the best I have had in a while. The chef was very enthusiastic and cooked our food perfectly. The rice was cooked perfectly! Again I will say the rice was the best I have had in a long time! It tasted like California type fried rice:-) so yummy! I had the gyoza as an appetizer and they were steamed I believe and cooked so perfect! My fiancé ordered a Boston roll and it tasted so fresh! This means we will be back for the sushi! I have this place five stars mainly because it had the three main things I look for when going to a restaurant. Good service. Good food. And very speedy service as well. It was a Saturday, graduation weekend at that and we didn’t wait at all:-) we ll will definitely be back!

Consistent, food is good. Something different to try out. Some chefs are more enthusiastic than others but when you get a good one it is fun!

Usually a good place to eat but has gone down hill lately. Actually had our rice burnt this past time and half the chicken hacked away and thrown in the grease trap because of also being burned. Tried to say something half way through the meal but was ignored by the chef, wait staff and management. Then met with surprise when I told them the meal was not good and questioned like a criminal as to what wasn’t good, why I didn’t speak up sooner. I even at one point just asked for them to remake the food and it was like I had asked them to do something illegal.

We went for lunch on Sunday and all got hibachi dinners. The entrees and rolls were fantastic. Waitress was attentive and very helpful. We will definitely return.

The sushi was delicious. We got the dragon roll and Hawaiian roll. The hibachi chief was the best I have ever seen. He might have been Mexican but who cares. The kids liked him and he did some amazing tricks. We will definitely go back. We went for my lovely wife’s and my oldest son birthday. The whole place helped with singing happy birthday. so cool.

Excellent sushi! My friends loved the hibachi grill… The chefs are so talented! The staff are great and allowed us to stay past closing after lunch one day. Fab place!

Came here after graduation in December, first time there. We made reservations the day before. It was pretty cold in the restaurant but once the chef got to cooking we didn’t feel cold anymore. Not much of a wait for drinks or food. Food was great. Chef was funny. Prepare to get messy if you come here. He offered sakè to everyone, got us all wet. He even gave some to my grandma but he was respectful and was careful not to miss her mouth so I appreciated that. Their food is very filling and delicious. I liked their salad, but didn’t think their miso soup was that good. I’d like to come back and try their sushi

We went for the lunch special on Saturday. It was a great deal and the food was very good. Overall our service was pretty bad. It took 10 – 15 minutes after sitting down before anyone came to get our drink order. Our chef was entertaining but he referred to my boyfriend as «white boy» at least 5 times, maybe more. The first time I was a little shocked but after multiple times I was completely disgusted.

Visited here on Valentine’s Day, and our experience was somewhat rocky, but the food was great. Luckily, we called and made reservations because there was a huge waiting time. We were seated in the grill area with another large group of people. We ordered our drinks and they brought the soup and salad pretty quickly. Given it was Valentine’s Day and very busy, we waited about 40 minutes for our chef to come to our grill. I understand the show portion of this type of place, but our chef was a little over the top. He threw an onion at my face. Then while he was cooking, the other side of the grill was filled with new guests, when the server brought their drinks, he walked inside the grill area and they collided leading to spilled drinks and an awkward situation where he joked that he had been drinking too much. After finally getting all our food, it was delicious. I loved my meal, I had shrimp, and my boyfriend had salmon and steak. It was all delicious. The biggest issue here was that the place wasn’t all that clean, and everyone seemed very disorganized leading the messes and some confusion. Which this all could have been caused by how busy it was. Overall the food was good, service was so-so.

For a Japanese restaurant it was good. My partner and I went in time for the bento box lunch and there was SOMUCHFOOD! Salad, miso soup, three little dumplings, three California rolls, half a ball of rice, and the main part of the dish. I ordered the chicken katsu and he the fried shrimp and veggies. The katsu was kind of Eh, as though it needed just a bit more oomph from seasoning, and I think the sauce was actually A1, but I was still happy with my meal. I left feeling very full and satisfied. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are what you’d expect. The restaurant itself was VERY clean. The layout was almost too open but I suspect that’s because the building wasn’t built for its current occupants and they work with what they have. If you’re craving some Japanese it’s a good place to stop in.

Not the best hibachi in town, BUT they do a do a good job here. Portions are generous, food is good, and chefs are good at entertaining. I recommend there hibachi steak and chicken or steak and shrimp… I give this place a 7⁄10.

We sat in the side dining/sushi bar area(you can order from the full menu including the teriyaki dishes). The food was fine, but it took an HOUR to get our food. When it did arrive, my husband’s steak teriyaki was very cold. When I expressed my frustration over waiting an hour for cold food, they offered us no compensation but rather gave me a piece of paper scribbled with«15% off your next visit». I know this situation will not occur if you sit at one of the hibachi tables, but I feel the customer service we received was unacceptable.

Much better than Hibachi and the atmosphere is nicer and cleaner than Hibachi as well. Great good!

The problem with Hibachi Steakhouses is that they’re extremely unoriginal. Even in NY where I live the routine is the same, same sauces, the chefs from both NY and here in WV referred to the sauces as: «Yummy, Yummy sauce». Maybe I’m being too harsh and expected too much from this place. The atmosphere is confusing, multi-ethnic waitstaff, rock music blaring on the speakers and piña coladas and apple martinis for drinks. The Hibachi chef was skilled, however his personality was robotic and not very fun. Apart from the atmosphere, the food was average to above average. The sushi was okay I guess I can’t expect much in the middle of West Virginia. The Hibachi meal I ordered(Steak and Noodles) was good. The NY strip steak was a little grissly. But it wasn’t bad. The price was about average for a Hibachi. You pay for the«showmanship». Maybe I expected too much from this Hibachi steakhouse. But I guess for those new to Hibachi steakhouses, this could be a nice place out to eat.

This isn’t the greatest hibachi in the world, but when I used to live here I came here at least once every week. It’s your typical teppanyaki fare, assorted meats and veggies grilled to order in front of your face(there is a dining area away from the grills if you don’t want all the fuss & fanfare). Interiors are kitschy with a mammoth koi receptacle in the center of the lobby(yes, there is a lobby-like area!). Incidentally, the entrance is sort of like a funhouse, with its vacuum threshold in which one has to open doors at precisely the right interim to gain entrance(it sounds confusing, but once you’re there, you’ll see what I mean). Entertaining? Maybe? You’ll definitely feel like you’re entering the seventh sector! Its a design flaw that’s never been fixed(and I see elderly and younger people having trouble with the doors). TidBit: Don’t sit too close to the bathrooms and kitchen, there are odors that aren’t very favorable within that vicinity! The service is usually efficient, but not always warm or inviting. Their Hibachi shrimp and lobster is good, I particularly like their Tokyo Roll(although now they make it with cucumber-I recommend going with the original recipe which omitted this ingredient). Sushi is okay, it’s always been fresh tasting(lots of spicy tuna, shrimp, eel). I’ve tried most fish items on their menu, and I’ve never had a negative experience with any of them. I know people who have enjoyed their chicken and beef hibachi entrees as well. The ubiquitous soup(mystery broth) is never consumed, anywhere I’ve ever been! The house salad is okay. Either way, nothing overwhelming, but I keep coming back because it’s reliable and pretty tasty. And as long as you’re in the are in the area and have a hankering for the teppanyaki, this is a good a place as any.

Went here last night with the wife. It was above-average. I had the seaweed salad and some sushi. The wife decided on a Bento box with teriyaki beef. Seaweed salad was good but it’s hard to mess that one up. The sushi was ok — had an eel roll, snapper, squid, and octopus(I’ve definitely had better but I wasn’t really expecting much since we are out in the country here in Mo’town). The wife enjoyed her Bento Box. Along with the food I had a small bottle of hot Sake which I thoroughly enjoyed and a couple of Tsnig Taos. The wife has a Sapparo. The drinks were cheap and the food was average price(maybe a bit on the higher side of average actually). The menu was diverse and the atmosphere was nice. They have a large Japanese Steakhouse-like area with the large tables and grills in the center with the chefs performing their routines in front of the patrons. They have a small sushi bar in the center and then off to the right is the«bar» area with dining tables(this is where we sat). So, it has a little bit of everything for everybody. I would recommend this place for a nice evening out. It does have a little bit of the asian feel to it but I would say that half of the employees there are college-aged kids so they take away from the asian experience a little bit. But what do you expect from Mo’town? And the two girls that were acting as hostesses were dumb and obnoxious. I would have to say they took away a little bit from the goodness of the entire evening.

Great, best in Morgantown in my opinion. Not only is the food amazing and plentiful but the Hibachi chefs are very entertaining. The atmosphere is really nice too.
