Established in 2013.

We wanted to bring delicious, award winning custard to the Morgantown area. In January of 2013, we franchised Rita’s Italian Ice inside of our convenience store, Mid-​Atlantic Market.

I have been with Mid-​Atlantic Market since opening in June of 2010. We wanted to bring something other than plain Jane soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt into our region. We did some research and found that Rita’s Italian Ice suited us best and fit right in with our Italian specialty convenience store.

This delicious little shop came recommended by family, so while back home visiting I gave it a shot. They have quite the selection for being a small italian ice/​custard shop, and many combinations of ways to combine the different desserts. I could easily eat there once a day and not duplicate the same combination for months!
The portions are very good size, where even the smallest was ‘enough’. I got the Swedish Fish italian ice and it had rich flavor and good consistency to it. Best part is, our group had 10 people and the bill was only $ 29!
Great value, something for everyone, and decent outdoor seating. Great little dessert place for those looking to avoid the Sweet Frog/​Naticakes type places that are suddenly everywhere.

Just moved to the area and looking to find a place to cure my sweet tooth. Rita’s is located inside a gas station stop with outdoor windows you can also order at (although it was closed when we went). We ordered the Blendini (under $ 5) which included one custard and one topping. We had the chocolate custard with Heath candy bar. It was very tasty!!! I’m glad I found this place & the punch card app allows me to rack up freebies.
