Basement Finishing Colorado

We contracted to begin work on our basement to accommodate our parents. My father passed away a few days later so we contacted the owner for a refund of our deposit. We were informed the deposit went to pay estimators and could not be refunded. The deposit was part of the contracted price for materials as stated in our contract. We were never told until we cancelled and requested a refund that the deposit had gone for estimates.

Basement Finishing Colorado– Perfectly done basement and extremely professional! For my home in Stapleton I hired Basement Finishing Colorado. The company just finished my basement, which included a family room, wet bar, bedroom, full bathroom and two storage areas, and it was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. They also put in two oversized French Doors on my first floor. These had to be custom made. The project was completed exactly on time. I had no issues with the keys and bathrooms as in the prior review. The utmost care was taken. If I could give ten stars I would have done so. I especially liked the arched doorway and other touches. Steve was careful to talk about different options and give his opinion on which was worth spending extra money when we were developing the plan. He was very creative when it came to developing solutions for a crazily placed sump pump and closet. The wet bar solution turned out great and the solution for the heat units was good and made the family room look more spacious. The design was the most creative of the three companies I called. The company was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. I had seen some of the «least expensive» basements done in other homes, and I am glad I chose Basement Finishing Colorado. As I changed plans or added items cost was discussed and immediately I got a modified invoice via email. The cost in the end was exactly as we had agreed. I was always able to get hold of the project manager via email or text or cell phone. We would connect within 24 hours if a message was left. I was updated when it made sense to do so. I felt communication was good. I think if I wanted communication more often it would have been «no problem». I highly recommend Steve Soell!

Project management at it’s worst! We went with the bid from basement finishing Colorado inc, even though it was higher because we were promised a 8 – 10 week turn around. Imagine our disappointment when weeks would go by and nothing would happen. We’d call and the owner had no idea what was going on or who was, or in our case wasn’t there. We saw our project manager maybe 5 times… Then at the end we were presented with a bill for over 10k more than the bid, and that didn’t include the 4 k extra we, d paid on electrical and 609 for mis hung unfinished cabinets. I wasn’t comfortable with them leaving the window unlocked every day and they used my bathroom and left urine drips on the floor. The reason for the OK rating is that after all the hassles, the finished product is very nice. My advice would be to set firm dates with penalties, speck out every detail on the bid and be sure that the materials that are delivered are what you picked out. Maybe having a daily call with the project manager wouldn’t be a bad idea. I’d say service is a 1.5 star and the product is a 4..
