Hyatt Regency Morristown

Stayed here for 3 days for a tournament held at the hotel itself.
Pros:
–Paid event rate under $ 150/​night, it was worth it. If needed to pay over $ 200 value would be questionable.
–The rooms were very comfortable with regards to layout, storage, pillows (bed was too soft for me, but great if you are into a soft bed)
–Vast public area with lots of seating.
–Pool connected to hotel that my son really enjoyed.
–Most of the staff were very nice, especially at front desk
–Movie theater connected to hotel that we enjoyed.
–Good location for local restaurants
Cons:
–Room are outdated and need a face lift (no USB ports, even-​though I was assured there were some, there were non)
–Furniture at public areas a bit worn out.
–Bar food was really sub par (except the fries)
Had club sandwich, the toast was rock hard with very little turkey
Wings, asked for them to be extra crispy, they were anything but that
Calamari were just not good
Glass of club soda close to $ 3 (this is not NYC and this is not a high end enough
place to gouge like that).
–Some of the bar tenders seems a bit overwhelmed with a larger crowd (on a Saturday night??)
–AC in room was super loud and made funny noises
Again, not a bad hotel if you need to stay local (I am not sure there are many competitors anyway).
We will probably be back, but expectations will be lower this time around.

I was here to meet with a colleague. While here, I was harassed by one of the security guards for being on the phone in a quiet area in the conference area. He followed me into the bathroom, and yelled at me to leave. I have never in my life been treated so rudely by a hotel staff member.
The hotel manager just said that the security was doing their job since I looked suspicious…

The front desk staff was very pleasant. I always appreciate a warm welcome.
The rooms appeared nicely appointed until you notice that there is only one Hugh roller shade and no sheer on the window. So, you either sit in the dark or are exposed to several multistory office
With people traveling with multiple electronic devices I’m always surprised when there is no where to plug in next to your bed.
The bathroom had no towel rack next to the sink. I thought I didn’t get a washcloth or hand towels until I eventually closed the door to find them back there.
Coffee maker in the room with Starbucks coffee-​great!
With powdered creamer.
Yuck.
I walked downstairs to check out the restaurant as it was raining. It looked so dreary I walked out in to the rain to find dinner.
Overall, not so great.

Ok place to stay, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Don’t fall for the «valet» parking bit. It’s $ 20 +tip but they claim they park your car in a «secure» parking lot however it’s the same garage everyone else is able to park in for free. Also after a certain time in the evening, before midnight, there is no valet. You’re supposed to leave your car in the entrance drive and bring your key to the front desk where a random staff member will park your vehicle. Paid $ 140+tax for a Friday night.

Two nights in a row, taking a course in one of the board rooms and it’s FREEZING! Multiple times the front desk was notified via phone call and the situation was not rectified. We could actually feel cold air coming out of the vents. Complained directly to the front desk after the third phone call and they clearly did not care. They stared at the computer screen and clicked around, then said they would have the air flow turned off. It was not. We sat in class with coats, hats scarves and gloves on. I don’t recommend this place, at least not in the winter.

Our stay was fine — generally comparable to other Hyatts, Hiltons and Marriotts we’ve stayed at over the years. The staff was helpful. The room was fine and very quiet, even on New Year’s Eve. The bar food was OK (fish tacos and beef tacos; too-​greasy calamari)… overpriced as expected at such hotels. The biggest surprise was that the hotel does not offer a public television station. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the country — large, small, expensive, budget — for over 25 years and until now never encountered one that didn’t offer a public television station. Very odd, particularly in a supposedly upscale town; in our case unfortunate because we hardly watch any other station — cable is truly a wasteland. Finally, the complimentary in-​room Wi-​Fi is limited to a certain number of hours — also unusual for a «luxury» hotel, although perhaps similar chains are beginning to do this also.

What a wonderful experience, top notch. Everyone in this hotel takes pride in their job. I would recommend staying in this hotel if you want to visit NYC. The hotel cost around $ 120 a night and they offer a wonderful buffet breakfast included in on your price.
The rooms are spacious and clean. Our rooms were right near the elevator and we didn’t hear any loud sounds.

The good: Friendly staff. Nice lobby. Great views from the rooms if you’re on a high floor. Convenient to downtown Morristown.
The bad: Rooms feel weirdly small and uninviting, like a psychiatrist’s office or something. Not enough furniture. Bed was sagging and fitted sheets were loose. A/​C unit rattled. Shower curtain rod was loose. Breakfast was way overpriced for what you get. Parking is free but requires a validation every time you leave and come back in. Getting from the garage to the hotel is kind of a pain. Building is pretty ugly from the outside.
Bottom line: I got a good deal through Hotwire so I can’t complain, but there’s absolutely no way I would ever pay full-​price to stay here. Head over to the Marriott or Hilton in Parsippany instead.

The room was clean and sleek while being cost efficient. The customer service was great. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. Very good experience – will book again.

I’ve stayed at the Hyatt Morristown before and never had any issues, but this week showed up at 11PM for my reservation and was told that the hotel was overbooked. They had rebooked me at a much worse hotel, and since my phone was dead had to rely on the directions they gave me (which weren’t very good).
I was astounded by the lack of communication with regards to the overbooking — the hotel was hoping that I wouldn’t show up so they could charge a cancellation fee. In addition, if they had let me know, it would’ve saved about 45 minutes of driving late at night. At the end of the day, was really disappointed by the level of service that the Hyatt Morristown showed when dealing with their mistake — probably won’t be staying here again.

I had really mixed feelings about this hotel. The Hyatt lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are relatively large and comfortable. The room included an incorporated «living area» with a couch and wall mounted flatscreen and a large long work desk. Anyways, although the hotel is pretty nice, you can also tell that its a older facility. I think the hotel was probably stellar when it first opened, but the visible signs of aging take a little something away from the hotel’s quality. All in all, still a comfortable, quiet and clean hotel. Plus the hotel offers convenient perks such as complimentary parking and free wifi in room.
The customer service seems very attentive but I guess I just had a bad experience. The front desk appears eager to help, and the hotel sends email messages asking about your experience during the stay. My experience was bad because I had left the «do not disturb» sign on the door until maybe 1pm (long night in NYC the night before) thinking that housekeeping would still clean up the room in the afternoon. When I got back very late that night, I realized housekeeping had never arrived that day. It was my fault for leaving the sign out so late, but I feel like other hotels have previously managed to clean my room in the afternoon even if I remove a «do not disturb» sign past noon. It was just a unpleasant surprise. and I would hope for better from a 4 star hotel. The hotel is also occasionally forgetful about your requests for things such as mouthwash.
I’d stay again if it weren’t for the fact that housekeeping neglected to show up one day.

I loved this hotel. Is it a 5-​star hotel? No, more like 4. But the experience was 5 stars, with the exception of only one woman I encountered briefly. The other staff was fantastic and friendly, and I loved that I got a daily email from the GM asking about my experiencing.
As a guest/​participant at a 300−−400 person Indian wedding, everything appeared to go seamlessly, which is impressive. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the had the best amenity ever: makeup mirrors! We all know how bad hotel lighting is, so I could not have been more appreciative. The bride’s room was also nicely appointed.
It’s located in the center of Morristown, though not well marked, and if I needed to stay here again, I would absolutely do so.

My husband and I attend a game convention here twice a year and always stay on site at the Hyatt. We’ve been attending for five years now and while there have been a few hiccups here and there with our stay, our stays have relatively been very positive. Our rooms are always clean and tidy, and the front desk is staffed by superstars. As a former front desk agent from a different hotel, I know how tough it is to work the front desk so I truly appreciate the great service these agents provide every time. My only critique is that the breakfast buffet has gotten quite expensive. But that said, I love the affordable, custom designed cocktails they provide for the convention. That has been a great recent addition and I hope they continue to offer it.
The Hyatt is a wonderful host to us crazy gamers and everyone I talk to is always impressed by the quality and friendly atmosphere they provide. Thank you Hyatt Morristown!

This place is normally too expensive for me to book for work but I had a last minute trip and they had a last minute deal and alas the stars aligned in my favor.
Check-​in process was smooth and easy. We pulled up and the valet explained the valet and free parking options. We chose free parking which couldn’t have been easier. They let us keep our car out front while we checked in. The man who checked us in was very nice and efficient.
The room we chose was a king bed room with breakfast included in the rate. It’s clean, nicely designed with contemporary décor and has a flat screen tv.
Tonight we are going to see Jurassic World because it’s RIGHT next door. So many things walking distance. Is it 5pm yet? Because all we have to do is walk out the door to find a place for happy hour or dinner. I def recommend this place while in Morristown. The only reason it’s not 5 star is because it’s a little pricy but what isn’t in this area, really?!

I was at an event tonight at the Hyatt. Upon leaving, a janitorial staff person (older gentleman in black glasses) in Headquaters plaza yelled at me very rudely for accidentally walking across an area that had recently been mopped. I admit I walked there and shouldn’t have, it was an honest mistake. But, to be yelled at from across the room for having «no respect» was, in and of itself, hugely disrespectful to a paying customer. Needless to say, I will not be back.

I stayed at the Hyatt Morristown for a few weeks while traveling. The hotel is located in the middle of Morristown so it is very convenient to walk to different shops and restaurants while you are visiting. If you need to park your car there is a lot underneath the Hyatt and you’ll just have to bring your ticket up to validate your parking which can be a pain if you forget your ticket or if you simply are in a rush and there are quite a few people ahead of you.
The lobby is very nice and very modern and the staff is very helpful and friendly. When it comes to the modern nature of the hotel it absolutely stops at the lobby. Once you make your way up to the rooms on one of the two elevators (which can be a bit of a pain) you find that the hotel is relatively small and more important for me there is a lack of lighting.
I’ve come to appreciate bright (er) lights in hallways and in corridors so it doesn’t make it seem so dark and depressing. Now if you’re going for theme like the W or the Aloft then yes, it may be dark however, it will also have some lighting to where it doesn’t feel like you are in a dungeon. That was one thing I NEVER liked about the hotel. The rooms are a decent size and if all of the bathrooms have been recently remodeled you will certainly see a bit more updates throughout your room but there are some areas where there needs to be some touch ups. The carpet of my room looked like it had gone through hell and back. Part of the wood of the desk was completely chipped off to where there was no point in hiding it but just replace it. I made these suggestions upon checking out but really the place could use a facelift.
I never had any of the breakfast that was offered so I am unable to comment on that. overall, I feel that while this may be in the center of Morristown there are some things that you give up. There are other hotels in Morristown such as the Westin and I believe the modern nature of that hotel is much better than the Hyatt although it may be on the edge of Morristown but this is a mere 7 minute drive.
I would recommend staying here if you are only interested in being in the center of town and do not spend any time except for sleeping at this hotel.

We stay here often as my BF’s family lives in town & we don’t. After a few very difficult stays here (I’m not even gonna elaborate cauz I don’t want to relive it, yes it was that bad) — this stay was close to flawless. Room was nice, on the 16^th floor (top floor), King with a view (not much of a view, but that’s what they call that room classification). Décor is newly updated, bed is comfy, furniture modern although the artwork is awful & they have it bolted to the wall as though someone would want to steal that stuff.
The staff are friendly at check-​in, prices are reasonable & you get Hyatt Gold Passport points so be sure to put your rewards number on the reservation. The in-​house restaurant serves a very good breakfast buffet, so overall it is worth the money based on this stay. I am giving it 4 stars, but reserve the right to revise the next time we stay there (we go about 1 – 2 times every month) in case it gets better or worse.
Overall, location is key here — downtown within easy walking distance to everything. Gym including indoor pool & movie theater right on the premises, so it’s a great place for a staycation!

I’ve stayed here before and usually had a good experience. I was staying in Morristown with my girlfriend and it’s the only hotel within walking distance downtown.
Even though I reserved our room weeks ago through the Hyatt website, they still shafted us and gave us the wrong room. I clearly reserved a room with a king bed and they gave us one with two double beds. apparently they over-​booked the hotel and when I went to the front desk, it really didn’t seem like they cared.
I was with my girlfriend on valentine’s day, so the last thing I wanted was to make a scene and ruin our night so I asked for free room service breakfast and $ 20 off the bill. they felt that was reasonable and obliged but in a modern hotel with a computer that books rooms, it didn’t make sense. they have a 24 hour cancellation policy, so even if I didn’t show, I would have had to pay anyways.
It’s not as close, but the governor westin down the street is a nicer hotel with cozier rooms. I was thoroughly disappointed and won’t go back.

I got to stay here while attending DerpyCon, a multigenre convention that was being held in the hotels convention space. Hotel is a few miles from Interstate 80, making travel relatively easy. Main entrance is spacious with enough room for loading and unloading. Lobby is nicely decorated and check in was easy. HUGE Parking garage has a significant amount of parking and hotel staff validated our parking with no issues. The complex contains a «mall» portion that is somewhat empty. It does house an AMC Movie theater and several restaurants with odd hours.
Our room was rather nice, large enough for us to have a comfortable weekend. The beds were nice but could have used larger pillows. Room had a lot of small drawers and came equipped with a Mini Fridge. The bathroom was lovely with lots of room and a great shower. Noise was not an issue surprisingly which was something I was concerned about. Associate of ours had the corner suite next to us and that looked gorgeous, nice looking furniture.
DerpyCon didn’t utilize all the convention space the hotel provides, but for the size of the convention the space was adequate. Lots of smaller break off rooms are all over the convention space and have a modern wood grain color scheme that mixes well with the hotels look. Mall area could also be utilized as convention space.
The hotel had several little problems including one of the elevators being out of service, the one drawer in our room would remain closed, and our latch to hold the door open would interfere with the operation of closet door. Overall, these were minor and really didn’t impact my experience. I would also recommend doing your research about the area as the hotel sits on a hill and finding good restaurants aside from the ones outside the front entrance can be challenging and require walking some distance.
Hyatt Morristown was a good hotel and I would return again after doing more research about the area.

Absolutely zero complaints from our stay last weekend.
Upon arriving Valet took car, checking in at front desk was nice and very professional. The lady actually offered us a free upgrade due to it being our wedding anniversary.
Room was in the 11^th floor and was beautiful. Bed was comfortable and big enough. TV was easy to operate, AC was very efficient and the bathroom was throughly clean.
Bar area down stairs is big and staffed all day. Getting a drink was easy and drinks were made perfectly… prices fr hotel drinks were good.
Plenty of restaurants within 5 mins of hotel.
5 minute walk from MPAC.
Will be coming back.
