Horia is the best! You will not find a more capable, honorable, thoughtful contractor. He created a music room for us and redid our bedroom including floors, closets, etc. it is hard to believe all these glowing reviews, but they are true. He is a true gem.

We had Horia come to our condo unit to provide us an estimate to renovate our master and half bathrooms. Later that night Horia sent me an estimate on the cost of renovation. After discussing with my wife we hired Horia to handle our project. Through out the entire project Horia was great. He was meticulous, always on time and trustworthy. Most of the work is done by Horia and when it was time to do the master bath there was one helper which was also great. He also took time on the weekends; on days off to meet with me to go to showrooms to pick out the material and let us know what would and would not work for our bathroom. At the end of each day Horia would let us know what time he will be by the next day. He was always on time and set certain initiatives he plans to work on for that day. At the end of the day, he is very meticulous on cleaning up his work. Knowing we have a 17 month old daughter he makes sure there are no debris left from his work that can harm our child. Horia made my wife and daughter very comfortable as they were home when Horia came to work. Also knowing my daughter takes naps he plan accordingly to keep the noise down as much as possible. We really appreciate that of Horia. Horia is very trustworthy and honest and many instances will let us know how we can save money on certain materials. After performing and the completion of our project there is no one else we trust more than IC Home Design and Horia. We plan to have IC Home Design /​Horia to do all of our future projects. Thanks again Horia!!! We love our bathrooms and we hope to have you back again soon to renovate our kitchen.

I’d give Horia and his crew 10 stars if I could. We came across Horia’s profile on Unilocal.We were undertaking a pretty large home remodeling project and having just moved to the area, didnt have too many references; hence relied on Unilocal.Horia’s attential to detail was apparent from the very first time he met us. As we walked him through the house, he made us aware of all the risks and all the options. Once he took on the project, he worked round the clock, working through weekends to complete the job on time. He went the extra mile on several occasions, helping us pickup parts, arriving after hours to clear our equipment so other contractors could work, managing the inspections etc. All aspects of the job — the electrical fittings, the structural changes with breaking down walls, the finish, the woodwork, the paint — was top notch. Highly recommend Horia’s work — In fact, we’ve already asked him to set aside time for future work that we are planning to get done.

I was a little hesitant calling IC Home Design because there are 4 reviews. However, after having the work done by Horia, I can’t wait to write this review to improve his numbers on Unilocal.He was knowledgeable, on time, diligent and reasonably priced. I’d call IC again for any home improvement needs.

Horia has been a great partner in remodeling our condo. He gives fair quotes, makes sensible observations that save us time & money, and executes projects quickly, tidily, beautifully.
After we met Horia, we even chose to work with him for our second project, for which we had a slightly lower bid. (Having been burned by other less professional contractors, we figured it was worth it to work with a discerning pro). Ironically, I think he saved us money for *that* project in the end too, by suggesting a better hardwood supplier & providing a couple of finishing touches without extra charges.
Admittedly, there’s part of us that wants Horia to be our secret remodeling-​guru (not done yet). But he’s just too good of a guy not to recommend him.

Horia is the best contractor I worked with.
IC Design remodeled two bathrooms in our house.
We did the general contractor work, including design, picking and buying all the finish materials. Horia with one helper did everything (except for glass).
Horia is very conscientious. He worked very hard to make sure all the parts will be installed correctly. If he did not like the tile work he took it apart and did it again.
We ended up using his services to do a lot of side jobs that needed to be done and we got expensive quotes for them from others.
Horia not only works hard, he is inexpensive, and does not insist on change orders or creative quoting. He just quoted us the work, and except in two cases where obviously a very large amount of extra work was needed, that’s what we paid. He never asked for money before finishing the appropriate work as per the contract.
Horia was easy to get in touch with. He usually answers the phone, always calls back, and is very responsive to emails.
We highly recommend him.

Horia came highly recommended by some friends and he exceeded our expectations. He was always on time and was great about communicating with us. His estimate was very reasonable and he offered some suggestions that we hadn’t thought of, and they made a huge difference.
Horia did several things in our condo. He painted all of our condo, changed light fixtures, the bathroom vanity, mirrors, a toilet, changed the bathroom hardware, added pendant lights and recessed lights, and did tile work.
He was always treated our house as if it were his. He has great design taste.
We are highly recommending him to all of our friends. We will certainly call him in the future if we need anything else done.

I rely on IC Home Design for nearly all work on my house. We bought a foreclosure property that was in a very bad state of repair. IC Home Design is very flexible and capable with the work they do. The quality of the work and attention to detail is very high. They do not cut corners. All estimates are very fair and they do a good job of sticking to the estimated price. Honesty, professionalism, and high quality work was my experience.

Horia came and visited my home about 3 months ago and noticed that some of the windows had air leaks. This observation reinforced the fact that one of my bedrooms felt colder and «draftier» in the winter months. He diagnosed that the windows’ borders were not properly insulated. So we scheduled a time for him to come by and treat the windows. He advised me to pick up a can of insulating foam spray at a hardware store before his next visit.
On the day of service Horia came on time, as promised. He opened up the trims of my retrofit Milgard brand double pane windows and sprayed in insulating foam. He found out that only the bottom of the windows needed the foam, and therefore we didn’t have to waste time opening up the rest of the trim boarders.
After treating the 6^th of 6 windows in my home, Horia also spent a few minutes treating the bathroom tub’s caulking; the tub lining’s caulking had some mildew and discoloration. He surprised me because we didn’t talk about this area, and told me that this extra work was free of charge.
I am very pleased with the results. He is environmentally conscious, hard working, and cleans up after the job.

Horia is amazing!
I have never worked with a contractor before, but I have heard horror stories from friends. I think Horia has spoiled me for all other contractors. He arrived on time every day. He cleaned up every day before going home. He is quick to returning phone calls or email. His prices are reasonable while his work was exceptional!
Horia renovated my kitchen. He removed the upper half of a wall and some cabinets to make a breakfast bar. He relocated electrical and phone lines. He tiled the floor, replaced the sink, faucet and garbage disposal. He helped me find countertops that were not overly expensive and managed the installation. He found me a cheaper and better range hood than the one I’d found, and he installed that along with a new stove. He moved an existing cabinet and reshaped it to fit the space. He installed custom lighting and a dryer vent.
And above all else, my dog absolutely adores him. If you have pets, you know how important that is!
If you are looking for a contractor, I highly recommend IC Home Design.

We were very happy with the quality of work and the price. We acted as our own general contractor, scheduling things and picking materials (to save money), but other than that, he did everything but some painting, the wood floors, granite, and the cabinets. He completely remodeled two bathrooms and the kitchen, as well as did a lot of random electrical, painting, tiling, some marble, and replaced the interior doors. We had no problem with his work passing inspections.
Our original plan was to have him do the bathrooms and have the «fancy kitchen store» do the kitchen. But when the bathrooms were done very nicely (we did those first) and his quote for the kitchen came in about $ 5K less than the fancy kitchen store, we chose him to do the kitchen, including demolition, the wall for the island, electrical and lighting, gas, plumbing, drywall, backsplash tile, appliance install, and painting (we’d already ordered the cabinets). His quote for the demolition even came in slightly lower than the sketchy unlicenced guys a friend recommended.
We added a lot of side projects as we went, including the entryway tile, replacing all the doors, track lighting, and adding an electrical circuit for the computer room.
The thing my wife and I were most happy about was that he does most of the work himself and was supervising when he had an assistant. I think this really helps the quality. Our experience with some other contractors is that they would come for the quote, but when the job actually came they would drop off their «team» of workers and leave.
Other nice things: he returns phone calls promptly (if you’ve dealt with as many contractors as we did, this is a big deal). He was consistently on-​time and worked well with our schedule, even working weekends and very late some nights. Once his painter couldn’t make it, and he actually painted most of the family room himself. He doesn’t have too many overlapping jobs (one common reason for delays). He was honest about telling us about mistakes and would fix them quickly.
We will definitely use him again if we have more work, and have already recommended him to some of our friends.

This is the second time I have used IC Home Designs and the work and service is consistently superior. The first job was the installation and operation of a new boiler system which heats our home. This is a complex task involving gas, plumbing, and electrical. I received a prompt call back and an estimate was done in a timely manner with options on how to reduce cost. This is after going through 8 contractors who had attitude and outrageous prices with 0 customer service skills. The work was completed quickly and even when some complications arose, they were handled at no extra cost.
The second project which was just completed was the installation of a new water heater. Ours was over 10 years old and cracked. I woke up to this unpleasant surprise Friday morning. After drinking my coffee, I called Horia at IC and he remembered me right away and began the process that day with looking for the best water heater for our needs and budget. He will not sell you overpriced units or parts and knows what is needed for a project. He came over the next day (Saturday) at 8:30 and had the unit installed and working in no time. He cleans up after his work and even fixed our leaky sink and pipes in the bathroom at no charge. Horia is a highly skilled contractor and is a great and honest guy who will go out of his way to help you get your problems solved. I highly recommend him.
