Allow me to preface my review with the following disclaimer… I LOVE Cracker Barrel, no matter which location you go to, it is like returning home, Southern charm, relaxed atmosphere, and some real neat decorations. My most recent journey to this wonderful chain restaurant, however, did not come close to expectations. I can’t complain about the food, as I didn’t eat, can’t complain about my children’s meals, for, they did not eat either. Saturday afternoon around 3:30, my 3 children and I are excited about savoring the pancakes, eggs and hash brown casserole, afterall, they make is taste like heaven. I notice the parking lot is nowhere near capacity, so I know everything will be great. One party ahead of the 4 of us waiting to be seated, to my surprise it took a couple of moments… We were up next! The host asked us to wait a moment so he could get us a table. Within 4 minutes we were sat in a relatively empty dining room. Patiently, we waited, saying hello to passing servers(not being responded to), noticed folks food being brought to their tables and semi-empty glasses refilled. I was also looking forward to a nice glass of tea. Instead my patience wore and wore and ultimately ended… 14 minutes had passed before I asked my children what else they would like before the movie. Now 14 minutes may not sound like a long time, but with 3 young, hungry children, it is in fact an eternity, especially in a chain restaurant at about 20% capacity. As the children deliberated on where we would try, I scoured the floor for someone who worked at the Cracker Barrel. Nobody, not a soul. As my children, in unison, told me we were going to the golden arches(a place I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy) I begrudgingly acknowledged their choice and we stood up and left. Fortunately there was no clean up or check or tip or anything, we had been ignored. As we walked out, not a person I passed, wearing the familiar and comforting brown apron, acknowledged my, or my children’s presence, not a single«have a nice day», «thank you for coming», «sir, you didn’t pay your tab», «kiss my rear end», anything. In the dining room, I looked for a manager or someone to ask for a glass of water, or anything really, but nothing. I have had experiences at Cracker Barrel in the past that took more than an hour, but those experiences included wait times of 45 minutes or better. I am sorry Cracker Barrel over by the airport, but my time is important, especially when I have a date to watch a movie at a set time with my 3 wonderful children. I am afraid I will not be returning to your establishment in the future. I wish you well in all of your future endeavors, keep making that delicious food, someone is bound to enjoy it.

I decided to treat my daughter and grandson to our local Cracker Barrel. We arrived at the tail end of the lunch hour and I thought how lucky, look at all the people in line to check out. We shouldn’t have to wait long for a table! FYI– Sporting a 3 yr. old in the country store can become a little pricey and I was right about the lack of wait time so with a promise to shop after eating to the youngster, we were ushered off to our table. You know, that table found on the farthest reaches of the Cracker Barrel seating chart. We passed, what appeared to be many sparkling fresh tables along our journey. We were dropped off at a sticky table with an even stickier underside and in a blink of an eye the hostess had vanished(in my hopes to grab a booster seat, that was not to be the case). A slightly disheveled waitress arrives chuckling that Cracker Barrel has been having trouble with employees not doing their job as she wipes only part of the table off noting that the 3yr old needs a booster seat if he is going to be able to eat. YAY! Our orders placed, we settle down to entertain ourselves expecting at least a 15 – 20 minute wait and to our surprise the food arrived in closer to 10 minutes! Cracker Barrel #461 Morrisville NC– setting new standards in excellency. The childs cheeseburger plate arrived with a mini dried up overcooked patty blanketed in lego-like cheese on a titanic sized artic cold bun accessorized with diamond like ice crystals accompanied by a side kick of limp dehydrated lukewarm french fries. My daughters chicken club arrived with such fan fare I was briefly envious. I think it best described as the breast of an anorexic cornish game hen blanketed in also lego-like cheese on an over-sized over-toasted bun with a sprig of a bacon bit. This chicken club must have been hungover from to much clubbing because it too came along with some limp dehydrated lukewarm fries. Last but not least, my very own feel good comfort food of chicken and dumplings. At first glance I thought I had received biscuits and gravy. Then I saw it, a shred or two of what I assume to be chicken suspended in a thick tasteless paste of flour sauce. My two sides consisted of the crunchiest baked potato I have ever had(an as seen on TV microwave bag-l love mine! A perfect baked potato in 4 mins.) there was still some green to the green beans, that’s about all I can say about those. Unfortunately only the childs meal was returned to the kitchen however not before I had to assure the waitress that the bad food was not her fault, she was just bringing it to the table after all. She truly agreed shaking her head, stating that she didn’t think the food looked all that good either, here was my receipt, take all the time we needed. Our table then seemed to vanish from the existence of that vast Cracker Barrel seating chart. So, as I tried to make good on the candy shopping promise. We were followed by a uniformed staff member to the point that I bumped into her multiple times around the store. Not once was I asked if I needed help. I was just followed and watched. I was beginning to think I might be a thief and didn’t know it. Rest assured vigilant Cracker Barrel employee– I do not need or want Cracker Barrels over-priced«Made in China» Authentic Country Store stuff. In all of our coast to coast travels, Cracker Barrel had always been a go to, good, dependable food experience. How sad to find out this is not case at my hometown Cracker Barrel.

Have been to this CB a few times. Food has always been so-so. This time I ordered the bacon cheese burger, which I believe had been reheated 3 times! Its was that tough. Not sure why, but they no longer have onion rings. Server seemed to be just going through the motions, never refilled our tea and never brought the extra napkins that we requested twice. I expect that I will not return to this location.

The waitress was nice. the white young female. The problem was the tables were close together. And too much clutter trying to walk around the restaurant. Not give us much space to move.

Cracker Barrel is my family’s go-to for a weekend family breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, laid-back, and homey. The breakfast food is plentiful and pretty good. The lunch /dinner menu, in my opinion, isn’t anything worth mentioning. But breakfast is all thumbs up. My favorites are the Breakfast Sampler and the Blueberry Pancakes. I recently tried their French Toast with blackberries on top, and that’s creeping up on my list of favorites as well. Always ask for the apple butter with your biscuits. The apple butter is bomb — enough said. Also, I’m a fan of their hash — there’s always a crispy exterior while the potatoes maintain their soft and creamy texture. I will say that the coffee is on the weak side, but at least you get free refills! And while you’re waiting for your food, they have checkerboards to play on, or the little wooden triangle with pegs game. Depending on the weekend and time, the wait for a table can be ridiculously long, but that just shows you how good it is. You can pass the time by playing checkers, sitting in the rocking chairs outside, or browsing their store.

Ordered enough food for 120 people for a Holiday breakfast at work. Patrick and Rich went above and beyond to ensure that the process went smoothly. They even offered to drive their personal vehicles to help deliver the order since it was looking like it wouldn’t all fit in my car. Everything was delicious and piping hot when employees sat down to eat! Thanks Cracker Barrel!

Went to Cracker Barrel based on a friends recommendation. He’s originally from the south and was raving over CB. Originally from CA so wanted to try something different. As many other reviews stated, there was a wait for the table. 10 – 15 minute wait even though I was a party of one. When I was seated, you could tel the place wasn’t that busy so was confused on such a long wait. Also when the hostess walked me to my table, she just placed my menu on the table and walked away with no comment or intro about who my waitress would be.(Minus one star for the odd wait time and poor service from the hostess) So waitress arrives and she seems busy and frazzled. Order my food and before I finish my last word she’s already walking away. Drink comes, she places on my table and walks away before I could say the word. Same happens with my food.(Minus another star) So I want to order a dessert, waitress never comes. When she does she walks quickly by and drops off bill.(Minus third star) Food was ok nothing great. Just had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried apples, Mac n cheese, and sweet tea. Nothing spectacular. Total bill $ 13 for the experience. At least I could say I tried it.

We are local and took our two kids. When we got the cokes we ordered they tasted like diet cokes. Another table said the same thing. The waitress checked and said it was regular coke. I then asked for a Dr. Pepper and got a water-downed version of it. I decided to just get water. We eventually got our meals and was told then that a side item was not available. So after my food came I then had to quickly pick a new side item. On top of that the waitress did not bring the biscuits and corn bread that we ordered. When she came back she only brought biscuits. The food was fine buy how many times can you screw up at one table?

My wife and I usually love Cracker Barrel we would always go there where used to live in Roanoke Virginia shortly after moving to North Carolina we were excited to see that Raleigh had a Cracker Barrel. We visited the Cracker Barrel on September 19, 2015 we were astonished by the poor service and the very poor quality of food if I had to compare it to something I would compare it to eating at McDonald’s. McDonald’s is way better than this certain Cracker Barrel. The restaurant was not that busy and I would expect better quality of food from Cracker Barrel we will most likely not be returning for a long while I was suggesting management that they really consider the quality of food are putting out to people it’s not about quantityit’s about the quality of the food keep that in mind.

This has become our Sunday dinner spot but unfortunately after tonight we will not be returning. My boyfriend had on a UNC hoodie and the first thing our waitress(whose name was Anna) said is «oh my god you are my worst enemy right now… I hate Carolina, I guess because I am such a huge State fan» I was so taken aback I didn’t know what to say. We ordered our drinks and after that decided to leave, I mean how unprofessional!?! She brought our drinks to the table and my bf said«how can you speak to your customers that way? She started laughing because I am guessing she felt so ridiculous she didn’t know what to do. No apologies, nothing so as we were getting up we asked to speak to a manager, one girl said«oh he is busy». likely story. So finally the woman at the front seating people went to get the manager who was very apologetic and offered us a meal on them but since we will not return we decline the offer.

Boo & I wanted breakfast after both of us being off work on a normal weekday. We decided to go to Cracker Barrel since they do breakfast all day. What a great concept! Regina was our waitress & she was fantastic! Very attentive. I got the Old Timer’s breakfast & it was delicious. Plenty of food. I can appreciate Cracker Barrel’s prices. They give you a lot of food, for a reasonable price. Plenty of seating & plenty of parking.

breakfast was very good, the place is like the Old West, I liked. Pancakes and delicious omelette were well. I will return to this place because I liked, and not expensive.

This particular Cracker Barrel is really bad. We had to wait 20 minutes when the restaurant was half full. The hostess was lying to customers and telling them the restaurant was full. Then there was the 30 minute wait for food to arrive after we ordered. Then the waitress was really bad. She disappeared and only saw her once. If you traveling in the area steer clear of this place.

Once I had to walk thru the«gift» shop full of cheap stuff you wouldn’t find at a garage sale to get into the restaurant I should have known to leave. The breakfast I ordered of 2 eggs, bacon, cheese Grits, «biscuits», hash browns and gravy. The biscuits were flour bombs, no flavor, and dense, the gravy was disgusting! You could use it for wallpaper glue and had no flavor. The cheese grits were thick and cheese less and the hash browns were barely present on my plate and greasy. The waitress was so overloaded with tables I saw her to take my order and 20 minutes later to bring me my check. I had heard a lot of good things about Cracker Barrell but that must have been an urban myth.

What I love about Cracker Barrel is that they serve breakfast all day long. I ordered the Pancake Breakfast. It was served hot and quick. Plenty of little bottle syrup warmed up to make the experience worth the while. The wait staff is very friendly and the overall price is pleasing.

This experience was one to never forget. It first started out by a host that treated me like a piece of meat. I asked to speak with the manager and the manager told our server to find out what it was because he was busy. My server, whom was so sweet and so apologetic, took my order. I had just arrived in Raleigh and had a craving for the homestyle chicken. When my chicken arrived, it was cold in the middle and mothers meatloaf was ice cold as well. The server took the food back to the kitchen and brought me a second plate of chicken. As I was cutting into my chicken, I noticed that it was super pink. My server was soooo apologetic. While all of this took place, the manager NEVER bothered to come out and apologize for not coming out the first time nor for the cold and raw food. I have never had this type of experience at this restaurant. I will never come back. I even called Cracker Barrel Corporate to tell them about my experience and they NEVER returned my call. That is absolutely ridiculous.

It’s been a while since I have been to a Cracker Barrel and I was actually very excited! I knew I was going to get the chicken fried chicken with all the fixings and corn bread. Well, to put it briefly I have had more flavorful food in a hospital cafeteria. I had to add so much salt and pepper to even make it edible. My chicken fried chicken was next on my plate to corn, which made my chicken soggy from the corn juice. That was disappointing. The cornbread was the absolute worst I’ve ever had. Boston Market has better corn bread than this place. My food was hot when it came so I gave it a star for that. And my server was a nice, but i probably will not return to a Cracker Barrel also, might I add that it’s a very poor representation of «southern home cooking»

Southern style food. Blueberry pancakes are delicious. The fresh biscuits are also awesome especially with homemade apple butter. That being said the rest of the breakfast food is lackluster. Skip the eggs altogether. Service is typically around 2.5 stars at this location.

Whenever I’m craving pancakes, this is my go to place. I just like the taste and texture. its different.I have come very close to duplicating them at home. As for the service, its hit or miss. Sometimes the hashbrowns are undercooked like on today’s visit. My coffee wasn’t topped off unless I asked. My sister’s grits were cold, they were returned and the second time she found a hard apple chunk in the grits. I would have rather gone somewhere else, but again, the pancakes are always close to perfect to me. Brunch hours on Saturday is probably the worse time to eat here. its extra busy which means mediocre service.

The food at a Cracker Barrel is always good. But the service continues to disappoint. For the price of a glass of tea I don’t want it crammed full with ice. I’ve noticed this and other service issues continue to grow I think they’ve lost me as a customer, no one seems to care

I love Cracker Barrel. specifically the french toast and hashbrown casserole. I’ve visited several locations over the years, across the country… but this location by far has some of the most friendly staff.
