This is a decent lunch spot if you’re looking for a quick bite and you work in Perimeter Park. My coworkers and I always joke that we’re going to get«gas station sandwiches»(yep, this place is inside the gas station on the corner), but in fairness these are pretty good sandwiches. The have raised their prices a bit and slightly altered their menu but they are still a reasonable value. The philly cheese is quite good and the burrito isn’t bad. You’ll also get homemade chips with your sandwich. These are great but I wish they’d give you more. There is also a fairly large selection of tex-mex style big batch stuff, but I haven’t been adventurous enough to try it – though a lot of the local work crews seem to come here for lunch and they seem to like it. The people behind the counter here are friendly but subdued. It’s always the same people behind the counter, so I can only assume they may own it.

If you’re hungry, not a terrible spot. I didn’t know this, but this place is located inside a «Shell» gas station, and I didn’t see any signs outside. I asked what patrons normally liked and didn’t get a clear answer. I asked about latin pastries that I’m familiar(including guava con queso) which bought me a smirk or bewildered look. I ended up ordering a couple bacon, egg and cheese croissants(not my first choice) and got a Kraft single slapped on some egg and cheese on a Costco croissant. Not going out of my way to come back here, but if I’m hungry and in a pinch again, it’ll do…

Really surprised to find so many Cubans in Durham. I feel at home. The Cuban sandwiches are delicious! I’ve been back several times as I’m sure has been reflected by my check-ins. They also serve other delicious food and have flan!(Bonus!). It’s a great place to stop by when you need to pick up a quick home style lunch.

What could possibly be added to a Cuban sandwich to make it better? Salami for a Tampa Cuban? or Bacon for a Miami Cuban? Yes, please. And Cuban coffee, too? Okay. Sold. Sharing a roof with the gas station, Latin Corner is a nice alternative to a chain restaurant. Other than the Cuban sandwiches though, there’s not a lot of latin in the official deli itself, although they do have a pretty good selection of the cold Aloe Yogurt drinks, among others, that go really well with the box lunch special. From what I observed, there’s probably a lot of off-the-menu choices if you want something particular, though. For the few times I’ve been here, the sandwiches are decent, made fresh, and a perfect size for a quick meal. The breakfast sandwiches are a sloppily good alternative when you don’t have a lot of time. If you do have time, though, there’s a small seating area. If you’re taking the back road to RDU, it’s a nice place to stop and pick up something for the trip that might be better than what you’ll get in the airport.
