As a contractor who sends many of my customers there, I am shocked by the 2 previous reviews. And after reading them I find them quite suspect to say the least. First off why would you come back to a store that you have been abused 5 times before, and secondly, I don’t believe for a moment that someone with a 8000sq ft home in «Deerfield» is picking out their own colors, and not being assisted by a designer. Over the last 15 year the staff there is always helpful, even though they are always seem to be busy. Here’s a piece of advice if you are looking to go there and waist time asking for color suggestions, maybe you should hire a decorator. Those are the type of question she would need to know before being able to help you. It’s not condescending, it how painting works.

As the reviewer above said, the woman behind the counter (I am assuming it was the same one) was beyond rude. It was my first time at this store and I was look at putting together a color palette for my new home. She did not ask me if I needed help nor acknowledged me in any way. When I asked her for her opinion on a color she snapped back with questions (all while not making eye contact and filing her nails). When I told her I was thinking about warm grey colors she essentially told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. She walked over to the paint swatches, picked up a few, and literally threw them down on the counter and walked away. I thought she may be going to the back to get other samples, but when she returned she picked up the phone and began to make calls. She made it very apparent I was not important and was wasting her time. I am painting my 8,000 sq foot home in Deerfield and all those gallons of paint will not be coming from this store because of this woman.

I’m in the middle of a house reno and have been to this store several times over the last month attempting to pick out and buy paint and wallpaper. Today will be my last visit, after thus far spending no money. Every time I come in to the store, the woman behind the «wallpaper desk» (same woman every time — never got her name as one was never offered) is rude and not once has she greeted me or asked what I need. She once greeted two other customers after I had entered, leaving me standing there. On more than one occasion I’ve been left standing for more than 15 minutes without even a glance in my direction or «I’ll be with you soon». The one time, in five visits now, that I managed to get her attention to a paint sample she was incredibly condescending, talking to me like a child. I just left the store now after needing to inquire about wallpaper price. She didn’t greet me or even look up at me as I approached her desk, taking a long call even though I was clearly there first. The guy behind the paint counter saw me and said «I will be with you in a minute». The men at the paint counter have been friendly each time. They actually couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. For them, I’m giving this store one star. Unfortunately though, I won’t be making any of my paint or wallpaper purchases at this store. Disappointing experiences with the female associate.
