2 Courses (57 challenges and 17 Zip Lines)

Junior Explorer Course:

— 15 challenges including 1 zip line

— ages 4+

— 30 – 60 minute

Treetop Zoofari Course:

— 42 challenges including 16 zip lines

— 2 – 3 hour trip through the course

–Half of the course is in the forest and the other half is above the zoo

— Once up the first ladder, you truly travel tree-​to-​tree until you touch down to the ground on the final zip

Participants travel over 3,000′ on zip lines alone (16 total)

— 2 zip lines travel over the lake (one over 600′ long)

— Zip by animals such as Tapirs, Toucans, Kangaroos, Monkeys, Orangutans, Emus, and Siamangs

History

Established in 2014.

The Metro Richmond Zoo wanted to offer visitors not only another way to see the zoo and it’s animals, but an excellent opportunity to experience nature like never before. Through Treetop Zoofari, participants can venture tree-​to-​tree through VA’s thick natural forest and then zip their way high above the Zoo’s exotic animals.
