This bar/restaurant was the exact spot we needed to stop and eat lunch. Great prices for the amount of food, super friendly service. It’s not gourmet food but completely satisfactory and filling. Our server was awesome and happy to help us get exactly what we wanted. 4⁄5 because it was busy so the food took a while. But the cook made each order as it was brought in. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

This is a typical small-town bar, where locals gather to share their lives. It’s a slice of Americana. Their Dam Burger, probably named for two nearby reservoirs, is among the best that we’ve had. It’s a ½-pound patty, with an assortment of toppings and a very nice bun that’s better than those at chain burger joints. Our server said that the Deluxe Burger is the same, but smaller. However, she said that the Dam Burger is somehow better, and suggested that my wife and I split one. We followed her advice, and added two salads. Tables have a roll of paper towels, which is good, since the burger is somewhat messy to eat. The food menu is limited to typical bar food: burgers, pizza, fish & chips, and sandwiches, with a reasonable assortment of each. The food prep area is in a back room, but the grill is behind the bar, so you can watch your meal being prepared. The beer selection is typical, and includes four on tap. All four were specialty beers. I remember an IPA, Belgian Shock Top, and Irish Death. I chose the last one, and enjoyed it. Presumably, the generic American lagers(Bud, MGD, etc.) are limited to cans/bottles. This appears to be an all-ages establishment, though I would suggest checking in advance if you plan to bring any«miniature people» with you. The place is clean and well-organized. The music was a bit loud when we entered, but the server lowered the volume without our asking. Prices are very reasonable. Whenever we stay at the 1000 Trails resort(15-minute drive), Pioneer Bar and Grill is a mandatory visit for a great meal.

Good food, large quantities and beyond excellent prices. I still cannot believe the size of the burgers here. The special on Saturday is prime rib… I will have that next time, it looks amazing.

I was very disappointed with the service recently. My last visit was a disaster but I gave them another chance tonight. The wait time was long which I was willing to overlook because I could see they were busy & the cook was going as fast as she could. However, after waiting 45 min for my food… my patience began to wear. The food was good & it seemed to be turning around. But then, I waited at the counter to pay my ticket for 15 min while the server kept wandering around looking lost. Finally, the cook left her station to help me after the server had disappeared. I felt bad that she was working so hard & had to stop to do somebody else’s job too. I really hope they can get some better employees that will put their customers first.

Great small town vibe. Good homemade food. Had biscuits and gravy and she literally made the gravy in front of us. Very nice family, fun place to hang out. I’ll be checking out the fish fry tomorrow night. Highly recommended.

Decent food. Dam burger was tasty. Service was pretty good. All the food was standard café food. Definite small town feel. Reasonably priced.

A good Dam burger. Large and in charger this burger is big and they don’t cheat you on cheese and bacon. It is not the best food in the world, but if you are on the way along Route 12 it is a nice little stop for a big and inexpensive lunch. Families and children are welcome.

Great small town bar and eatery. The waitresses Layla and Nicole are entertainment in themselves. Great conversation with locals and employees. Food was great at a good price. Great place to eat during hunting season

I’ve eaten here a few times in the past and it has always been good. I had the Dam Burger as this is the World Famous Burger as the sign says on the side of the place. I ordered and then went to use the restroom. The restroom has been remodeled and it’s nice and clean but only suitable for one person at a time. BUT, it has no lock on the door so while you are sitting doing your business others walk in on you, say they are sorry and walk out. I mentioned the lack of a lock on the restroom to the lady behind the bar and obviously that was not something she wanted to hear about. She told me in no uncertain terms that«No one has EVER complained about it before!» and she was not open to any suggestion that a lock would be a good idea. She then barked at my friend because he was leaning back in his chair. Do you remember the Sinfield episode about the soup Nazi? You get the idea. The food was good and at a reasonable price, but I will not be returning, EVER! I don’t expect to be treated like that anyplace I am spending my money and by anyone who is making me food. Oh, they don’t take credit cards either. CASH!!!

On our way north from Mt. St. Helen’s, we weren’t sure what type of food we would encounter. But we were HUNGRY. We took a chance pulling off of Rt. 12 into the tiny town of Mossyrock and were lucky enough to find this great heaping slice of Americana. It was a quiet thursday afternoon in the Pioneer, and so the few people working/hanging out there were interested to hear about why we had been taking a road trip through their state. While we chatted, the friendly ladies behind the bar cooked us up some lunch and served us a great cheap beer called Kokanee. The Dam burger is a must for anybody of the carnivorous persuasion. It was magnificent. Prices were very reasonable. I doubt there is a better place to eat for miles!

With limited food options in Mossyrock, this is an A-OK place serving up your standard bar food. We opted for the famous«Best DAM Burger» and it is HUGE! They offer up daily specials with decent prices throughout the whole menu. A pitcher of beer only runs $ 7! They also serve liquor. Children are allowed the the back end of the place, but they have to enter from the back door.
