Excellent move! A little difficult getting the initial communications started, but they were able to meet my tight deadline for the pick up and delivery across the country. In fact, they were a day early on both sides. Good advice on the cost of moving large items versus the value of the items. The Allied driver, Matt, was exceptional!!! Moving is never easy, but this was the best, most hassle free move that I have experienced. Well done!

They are part of the worldwide Allied movers. I have used Allied to move from England back to USA in 1994, and from California to East Coast in 2013. When the time came to move from Connecticut to California in February 2016, I only contacted one mover: Whalens /​Alllied. Calls were returned promptly, the quote was within reason (remember: you get what you pay for!) For both cross country moves I have paid for the movers to pack me. Worth Every Penny — the fee includes labor and ALL supplies, boxes, paper tape etc. No hunting for the right size boxes and they KNOW how to pack things efficiently and correctly so as not to incur damage. Joseph Cassera, my contact, was professional and responsive. He gave me the contact infor for a company transport the cars across the country too, which was a good referral. The on-​site supervisor /​long distance driver, Len, was professional and provided great oversight for the rest of the team. He has worked for Whalens for 20+ years as did his father. He kept in touch with me during the trip across the country and gave me a couple days notice when he would arrive. Note; I was fortunate my last move was during the slower winter months, if you are planning to move during a busier season get on their schedule as soon as you can.

Absolutely horrible experience with them today. They were actually doing a move for my upstairs neighbor. I pulled into my driveway, and they pulled up right after and blocked my driveway. When I asked them to move the truck they were hostile and rude and used profanity I do not care to repeat. I was horrified as I had my 2 yr old in the car. They then proceeded to laugh and make fun of me.
I watched them move my neighbors furniture, and even if they had been professional I wouldn’t use them. Nothing was wrapped or padded (chairs, tables, etc.), and they were very careless going up stairs. I can only imagine the damage they did. I’ve moved several times, and even the «cheap guys» use blankets and/​or plastic wrap. They took a lot of breaks (it was only 78 degrees today and no adverse weather), and I hope my neighbor wasn’t paying hourly (I have no clue).
Overall, I just can’t believe how I was treated. No one deserves to be verbally assaulted and made fun of (to the point of me crying in my car). Horrible people.

Maybe they’ve changed management… terrible customer service! They lost a wardrobe box filled with clothes; no explanation, no sympathy, and definitely no help with insurance paperwork. Very difficult to schedule a delivery at the end of our remodeling, and of course they kept charging us. Rude to boot. Would never recommend, and would certainly NEVER use them again!

Whalen’s was fine to deal with. They were pleasant and honest. However, move was contracted out to another Allied mover since we were part of a long distance move. Movers were, in retrospect, awful. Only moved a handful of furniture and managed to seriously damage ¾ of that. Moved a recliner and neglected to put the bolts that hold it together back on. Thank goodness no one sat on it first. they would have gotten seriously injured. they threw out empty bins belonging to us, because someone previous on the move said it was garbage… maybe their garbage, but not ours. Clothes still smell musty 4 months later, as do many of our possessions. Of course, once we realized bolts to chair were missing, driver no longer answered his phone. Unfortunately, these movers (out of Delaware) represent the entire franchise.

This was a couple of years ago, but it was my best ever experience with a mover. The sales agents were completely professional, the movers were pleasant and worked hard. There was slight damage to one of furniture items and they were amazingly prompt and helpful about getting the insurance paid out.
I wanted to use them again for a recent move but they were all booked up so call early!
