F & M Caterers

My family hired F&M to cater an event in out back yard. I was not involved in the vast majority of the conversations so I can only review what I saw. However, based on what I did see, I can’t recommend this company both as a Unilocal reviewer or as an event planner.
–The brought table clothes for rounds, not rectangular tables, even though this was discussed. As you can imagine, not enough table clothes were provided. A caterer should confirm with the client the shape/​size of the tables before placing the order. This was, however, my family’s fault — according the caterer, who yelled at my dad about it.
–The caterer accused (loudly) my family for not providing ice. What kind of catering company does not provide ice in June outside? Furthermore, why did the caterers not rectify this, instead of making us run around getting 60+ pounds of ice before the event? Even if F&M thought this was the case, shouldn’t they confirm? Isn’t it a little weird to say «You said your bartender would bring all the ice?»
–The prime rib was supposed to be a carving station, according to the tasting I went to. Instead, it was served in a pan and served well done.
–We specified at the tasting no wedding cake, but please still provide dessert. They did not.
–They do not provide bottled water. I do not know if this was mentioned before hand, so please be aware.
–We found a cigarette butt in the kitchen when cleaning up the next morning. This is unacceptable, as it is a strictly no smoking home.
–The food was somehow salty and bland at the same time.
The most upsetting thing to me was how the owner yelled at my father the entire time. I had a bad feeling when the catering company required payment 30 days in full, but stayed out of it. I wish I had spoken up. Please do not use this company for an at home event, and if you do choose to use them, make sure you have a wedding/​meeting planner on your side to help you make sure you get what you want — this caterer will not advocate for you, and could care less about making you happy once payment has been collected in full.

We hired them for a wedding reception at our home, they used my kitchen to heat all of the food. Dirt was tracked in by the servers, both ovens had grease all over them, my kitchen counter tops were full of grease along with the top of my stove. I had a freaking mess to clean up!!! To top it off they failed to bring ice, bottled water and the worst was NO dessert, the owner said he would bring assorted pastries which never materialized. The food was beyond salty and not that good, I will never use these people ever again, we are beyond disappointed.

We worked with Danny to cater our wedding this past summer at the Camden County Boathouse. Our guests loved the food, from cocktail hour to desserts, not to mention the beautiful wedding cake provided by Gallo Cakes which is included in the catering package. Dinner was excellent, not that I really ate anything myself :). These guys were a pleasure to work with, it’s a family run business that feels personal and they are just wonderful and kind. There was some last-​minute confusion on the day of the wedding (about when the catering service was supposed to end) but it all got sorted out pretty quickly and everyone was happy. You know it’s not a wedding unless there’s some running around and chaos right before the wedding starts! I am so happy that our wedding is done and that it was truly a beautiful evening with wonderful memories, and having F&M be part of that and help run the show was an excellent choice.
