History

Established in 2009.

Owned and operated by Chef Chad Shores. Chad has an extensive background in food in beverage and has been the chef at notable restaurants in Charleston such as The Mills House Hotel, Mint Juleps, Dianas Café just to name a few. He decided to open this quaint open aired Bar and Grill in 2009 and themed it around his love for offshore fishing. Always a large selection of fresh seafood which changes daily based upon what is fresh and available.

Loved everything we got. Service was amazing. We went Saturday night for dinner and drinks and our bartender Chris was informative and very charismatic. I hope they keep him happy, because he was excellent. For our dinner we were planning on getting an appetizer and entrée, but Chris told us the appetizer would be enough and to wait on the entrée. Glad we listened. We got the nachos and split them and couldn’t finish them!
Sunday we went back for lunch. My husband got the seafood platter and I got the Lobster Mac and cheese. Can I just say Wow. Everything was amazing and fresh. Well presented. My husband is a chef, and usually has some criticism about his meals. Nothing but a positive response. We also got to meet the owners who were just as Wonderful to talk with.
If you are looking for great food, great service, and great atmosphere, this is the place to go. Hands down, we will be going back!

Great meal, fantastic service!
My toddler daughter and I just ate here. Misae was our server and she was prompt, attentive, and helpful. She offered suggestions on beverages when I told her what I usually liked. Our food was cooked perfectly and hit the spot! My daughter loved her shrimp and I didn’t mind that she didn’t finish them because I enjoyed them, too. This was a great find, a good meal, and a wonderful time thanks to our service.

Great service by Kris tonight. She gave us first-time visitors some great suggestions. The seafood nachos were very good. We also got two burgers – the Jethead and the Chugger and they were both juicy and cooked perfectly with plenty of toppings.

I’m currently only giving 5 stars on drinks and service. I hope to stop in soon for food.
I think I have found my new bar, where you can find me on a regular basis. Especially on Wednesdays.
Finz is one of those bars, that you just past by on your way to other restaurants. It doesn’t look very appealing from the outside and the first time, you might have to force you to go in.
Also, because of the name, you would think that they serve food till late, but they actually don’t which makes it turn into kind of a dive bar pretty soon.
The Wednesday night specials are amazing, $ 4 craft on tap and karaōke. What else would you want on a Wednesday. It’s the new Thursday right? As men get their cravings done on Wednesday, apparently they are doing Ladies night on Thursdays. I haven’t been there, but it involves cheap alcohol apparently. Friday and Saturday, they are doing live bands going from folk to jazz.
The staff, to me, is always super friendly. The bartender on Wednesday is always smiling and gives us a spot on service every time, no matter how busy it gets sometimes.

I’ve only been in for drinks so I can’t speak of the food just yet. My friends and I decided to stop in a few weeks ago to try something new than our standard bars. It was a Wednesday so it was Karaōke night. Some were good, others were not, but everyone was having a good time. It’s kinda divey and definitely a locals bar crowd, but that’s what I was looking for. Lauren is the resident bartender on Wednesday’s and was very welcoming to us. They have a small draft list but are all great options (most of the time). We’ve now been back for the past three week and had a blast every time. This could be one of my local spots!

Dined here Friday night with friends for restaurant week. It was our first time here. The meat on the grill smelled amazing. We also ordered the fried dill pickle chips and crab cakes for appetizers.
We ordered off the restaurant week menu. The She crab soup had good flavor and lots of crab meat. The surf and turf filet and lobster tail were outstanding. Ordered my steak extra rare and it was just right. Could cut it with a butter knife. The lobster tail was good. The mashed potatoes were from scratch. The key lime pie was good. We met the owners on our way out and they were full of hospitality and made us feel welcome. We will be back.
I gave it 4 stars because the music was loud and it was hard to have conversation our friends.

I ordered from Quickfoxes. No fries or a side comes with the burger? A ten dollar burger? The burger was barely above bloody, red as a Braveheart battlefield. Their QF site does not list an option for how a customer wants the burger cooked, but without that, I’d assume they’d cook it more. It WAS a finely-crafted burger, aside from being so undercooked. I also ordered fried pickles, and what a disappointment. Pickle coins sliced way too thick, most of them shedding their breading onto the bottom of the container. I won’t order again, as this delivery seemed the product of haste and lack of focus.

Best fried pickles in charleston. They really retain that good pickle taste rather than taste like fried cucumbers. Daisy chain tacos were awesome. Steak was the best but the seared tuna was great as well. Wife’s alligator grits were off the hook. They really know how to make stone ground yellow grits. Seasoned perfectly. Will come back often.

We went to Finz to have a few cocktails after dinner at the Publick House across the street. They have a sign on the bar that says $ 3 shots, with a list of the available liquors. I asked the bartender for one shot two ways, she said okay. A bit later, I asked for the same thing again. When I received my bill, I had been charged for 4 shots. When I told the bartender, Allie, that I only had two of the $ 3 shots, she replied that the $ 3 shots were «half shots» and I had requested 2 full shots split 4 ways. It was CLEARLY advertised as $ 3 shots, not $ 3 HALF shots. It’s not the money, but the principle. You have upset a local, and I will tell everyone that this place is awful and I will never go there again and they shouldn’t either.

We went here looking for a good seafood and experience for my visiting family. We were seated promptly an. Drink orders and food orders taken then forgotten. Te atmosphere was that of a typical college town, not family friendly. It was loud with the tv turned up. The food was absolutely not fresh, salad was limp and brown, I had the Tina tacos in tuna and shrimp. The shrimp was fine but the tuna was the worst seared tuna I’ve seen. I tried a bite of she crab soup which was a mess of brown liquid and giant chunks of celery!!! I love she crab soup and get it from many places around charleston and this was the worst. It was like milk water bay seasoning and celery!!! The waiter had to be asked at the end of the lunch to fill our drinks which had been empty for a long time. This has to be the worst experience I’ve had in trying to find a good seafood spot. I told the manager who was appalled and asked to give us a gift card to come back, I declined we would never eat from that kitchen again.

I have ordered take out from Quickfoxes and it’s never been a disappointment. Especially the seafood
Burrito! Until today! Went in to check it out for a bite and a drink. We parked outback walked in and didn’t see a hostess and kinds stood for a while. We decided tongi sit outside and found a table and watched a waiter look at us. I then went inside to make sure we were not missed. The bar tender stared at me and still no help. 15 minutes passed and we got up and walked out. I was hugely disappointed.

We stopped here because we had the dog and needed a place with out door seating. It really had the feel of a college bar to me and that’s not what we were looking for, but thought we’d give it a try anyway. The bloody mary was very nice. The ceasar salad was fresh and basic. Nothing wrong with it. The seafood burrito was not good at all. You could smell the fishyness way before it was delivered to our table and I was not a fan of the cream sauce at all. Way overpowering. With so many other great options in the area, I don’t see us going back.

I’m not 100% sure what to put here. We came here with a group of family and had some mixed feelings. One thing we could agree on was that it was too loud. We were seated outside and the speakers connected to the TVs inside were blasting at us. As such, the audio didn’t even match the TVs that were facing us. Second, everyone had to yell to be able to hear each other and so the other tables also had to yell and soon everyone was yelling. We asked for it to be turned down so they made sure the outdoor TVs were muted but that didn’t do anything for the problem.
Anyway, on to the food! I got a burger, which is against my policy of not ordering x-type food at a z-type restaurant (ie, don’t get spaghetti from a Mexican restaurant) but I wasn’t in a seafood mood. My wife and mom split a seafood pasta with a funky name that I can’t recall. The pasta was underwhelming but a very good size and nothing really wrong with it, save there was a shell in it. I did sample a couple bites and it wasn’t anything special unless you’re just really a shrimp lover.
My burger, however, was possibly the best I’ve had in Charleston. I’m as surprised as you are. I got the anchor. First, it was massive. Second, it was hot (this is pretty dang important for burgers and sometimes overlooked, especially with a larger group of people). Third, it was delicious. I barely even like onions and I didn’t pick any off like I had planned to. I had egg yolk running down my arm and my beard tasted like onions and mustard for the rest of the day. It was a mess, but it was oh-so-good. Price wasn’t bad either, though the side wasn’t included if I recall correctly.
All in all, I won’t take people here if they’re craving the area’s best seafood but if there’s a need for a burger in this part of town, I’d definitely come back.

More a bar than a grill. Went for brunch today. Had to leave before we ordered. It was way too noisy (TV’s blaring plus you’re sitting right next to Coleman Blvd), could smell smokers sitting behind us (ugh! Why do restaurant owners allow this?), and the table was cheap rickety wrought iron. And since the service was so slow, it gave us an opportunity to bail out and find somewhere better to eat which we did. Too bad because my wife said she heard the food was good here. But if I wanted to eat in a noisy smokey sports bar, I could find plenty of them around with a better atmosphere.
