Fuji Sushi Bar & Grill

Delicious sushi! But the rolls totally fall apart. It’s almost hard to eat.

I work across the street and Fuji is one of my FAVORITE places to order lunch from! The Bento Box is delicious; service is always friendly and fast & they give you so much food it’s enough for me to have lunch for 2 days in a row. We frequently go in for happy hour after work hours & they have ½ off appetizers – great place with a great atmosphere to wind down after a hectic day.

My husband and I come in all the time. Whenever we are in the mood for great Japanese food or sushi, we head to Fuji.
They have a really great selection of sushi rolls, from traditional maki rolls to chef specialty ones, and the rest of their menu is pretty awesome too. Drinks are tasty and there’s always a great drink special going on! Not to mention the staff’s always pleasant and super fun!
Order the steak spring rolls, spicy tuna wontons, Onyx and Jinalyn Rolls (in soy paper!) and the pork ramen! You won’t be disappointed!

Huge selection of Sushi rolls. Im not a sushi eater but my wife and daughter loved their rolls. My wife had the Theresa and my daughter had the Steak Tataki both said they were awesome. I had the Steak and Shrimp Habachi with vegetables and fried rice. It was GREAT!!! We also had the bomb shrimp (very spicy but awesome) and calamari. The calamari was the best I have ever had. I have to highly recomend this place.

Fuji is amazing! Staff is always so nice and very prompt. The waitresses are always so sweet and always keep my sweet tea full (especially great because the spiny food I order). Love the double tuna roll, the Ginza pizza starter and crunchy roll! Great lunch specials you will get a very generous amount of food for a great price!

I loved the convenience of the «order pick-​up» app within Unilocal.It was great and the service was fantastic! While the sushi and sashimi was very good, I was disappointed to find that fake «crab like substance», avocado, and cream cheese in the cold fresh spring roll. I expected fresh veggies and rice noodles with that peanut sauce. These flavors did not work so well with the sauces provided and we’re just mushy. The Ginza is always delicious!

Came in on a Thursday night and was pleasantly surprised that it was half off bottles of wine night. Place was pretty packed but we got seated and drinks served relatively quickly. Food orders were placed and our meals all were cooked well and delivered quickly. Only complaint was we tried to use a 15% off coupon as well but can’t combine with other deals. Would have only saved $ 6 so not that big a deal.

I’m really in different about this place. Laura and I came here for happy hour Friday only to be let down when the happy hour menu just flat out sucked. I almost got up and walked out, but our waitress was very sweet so we stuck it out. We each had a cocktail and ordered a few of the $ 6.00 to $ 8.00 dollar rolls. As of writing this review, nothing really stands out and I can’t even remember what we ordered. Now we did get take out from here once before, and that seemed ok. Don’t get the steamed dumplings as they seemed mushy and not all that great. Do get their rolls as the sushi is very fresh and well prepared. It doesn’t fall apart like some places, and the bites aren’t oversized so you can fit the whole cut into your mouth. Other than that, I will probably only get take out from here.

Fuji is quickly becoming a favorite go-​to place for our family. We enjoy going during happy hour for the discounted appetizers and drinks, but the rest of the menu is reasonably priced as well. On our most recent visit, we had the best service with Michael as our server. He was very personable and attentive to our needs. Our son (who we didn’t realize was coming) joined us later in the meal, and Michael didn’t miss a beat. He made sure he had everything he needed as well as re-​explained menu details to him. When our son did place his order for the shrimp udon soup, Michael made sure to clarify that the shrimp was tempura since the menu doesn’t say that. He didn’t have to mention that detail, but our son was glad he did take the time to do that since it actually changed his mind to order the chicken udon soup. Everything we ordered was delicious. We enjoyed the pan fried dumplings, California roll, Alaskan roll, tempura shrimp roll, and chicken udon soup. We will definitely return to Fuji!

I’ve been here a few times and the food is overall pretty good. The sushi is not the best though. Rice is very dry and much better sushi options in area. The shrimp hibachi was great, but only received FOUR shrimp. This will only be a stop if convenience is top factor, moving forward.

Really like the food. Sushi is great and the rice is so yummy! Wish they offered the lunch menu on the weekends because the bento box is great and very affordable. Not sure why it’s not a weekend choice.

I love this place. Frequent diner for lunches and dinners, and never, ever had a bad or even mediocre meal there. It IS spendy, especially for dinner, but I can overlook that because every roll I’ve tried has been stellar. They keep a hand-​written book of ‘special’ off-​menu rolls and they’re amazeballs! If you’re adventurous, ask for the book and try at least one of those rolls! Recently tried their Soba and it was absolutely delicious.
I’ve seen a few reviews knocking the service, but those must have been ‘off’ days because truthfully I’ve never experienced anything other than the most wonderful service here. Maybe it’s partly because we’re regulars, but we’re pretty picky about service and this team nails it every time. If I could, I’d eat here at least weekly!

My husband and I love this place! Josh is the best, he always remembers us when we come in, he knows our drinks and menu likes. Food is always fresh and consistent. Jean the owner is a sweetheart!

Sushi is not very good. Not much flavor. We were the only two tables there & it took over 30 minutes to get us a very SMALL dynamite roll. So after 30 minutes of waiting & getting very hungry, I was disappointed. There should be more pictures of the menu or staff should let customers know how big the rolls are. The children’s menu is too pricey & no lunch menu on weekends? Will not be back.

I really liked it for the lunch price. The waitress was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the rolls. The salad was also good that came with the special. It wasn’t just the iceberg lettuce that usually comes with sushi. The mojitos were made exactly the way they should be.

Excellent! Moving to Daniel Island and trying new restaurants. Delicious veggie dumplings and the Manhattan roll was excellent! ½ price drinks on Tue night made me go for two glasses of wine! Great service at the bar! Go!

I have been coming to Fuji for the past 3 years and they are by far the best sushi in Charleston. The staff is attentive and does a great job answering questions and guiding you through the menu. They offer a variety of options and styles of rolls for those who like more modern fusion style sushi to traditional maki. They also offer great lunch deals as well. Will continue to come here for many more years.

We came here for dinner and ordered the Tanaka, JoJo, and New Year’s rolls. Maybe it’s because I’m not really into tempura rolls, but the food was great quality, just not my absolute favorite. The staff was attentive and made themselves available to answer any questions we had. I do prefer the sushi at Wasabi more, but it was refreshing to try different rolls than we would normally get. They all kinda of blended together and tasted the same to me, though. The pricing is reasonable and the rolls are filling. If you like tempura rolls, this is your place.

I love this little spot for not too expensive sushi and drinks. Had no problems with service or quality.
Only been out here twice since I live in N. Chuck… if I lived in Mt. Pleasant I certainly would stop by more as it is near one of my fav stores.Ross. I like the whole Belle Hall shopping area that Fuji Sushi Bar & Grill is in.

Fuji’s an alright spot for lunch. I’ve been in a handful of times over the years and it’s never been bad but, it’s also never been anything special. The sushi’s good and they do have bento boxes during lunch… which I love! The bento box is $ 10 and I usually get chicken teriyaki, miso soup, an egg roll type of thing, and a California roll. It’s the only sushi in the long point area and they do a pretty good job.
