Specialties

At Greendance-The Winery at Sand Hill, when we uncork a Greendance wine, we find within the bottle the sun, the earth, the flowers, and the fruit. Here we offer the complete wine experience including tastings, personalized histories of each wine, food pairings, entertainment, holiday celebrations, unique wine merchandise, and gourmet snacks – an extraordinary experience any time of year.

Consumers can choose from nearly 50 wines including homegrown berry wines, sweet and dry red and white grape wines, sparkling wines, dessert wines, ports, and blush/rosé wines. As the sister company of Sand Hill Berries, Greendance crafts its wine from what it grows. A complement to the region’s exquisite natural landscape, Greendance is a welcome respite – a place of ultimate relaxation and enjoyment.

History

Established in 2007.

The principals of Greendance were running parallel courses toward opening a winery and lived within miles of each other without even meeting. The Lynns, Susan and Rick, and the Schillings, Amy and Rob, produced gourmet small fruits for wholesalers, retailers, restaurants and have even supplied the White House with gooseberries, currants, and golden raspberries for two state dinners. Gradually they began to recognize that the highest use of their small fruits was pure fruit wines, and that their expertise in cultural practices would accommodate production of quality hybrid vinifera grapes to provide a full spectrum of wines. Although the new winery was planned for six years, it was stalled by the demands of fruit growing and various regulatory issues. During the final development, the Sand Hill Berries partners discovered Walter and Roxanne Vinoski. Walt carried forth the wine making tradition started by his family and joined to create what is now Greendance — The Winery at Sand Hill.
