Sure lots of places serves classic breakfast items, but do they do it with the flare, friendly smiles, and great service Joey Bag of Donuts does? Probably not. Plus, those donuts are for real. The S’mores was my fave! Oh… And the veggie cream cheese is phenomenal.

Great food and service! I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. I went this morning and got 2 doughnuts with a bacon egg and cheese bagel. Very good bagel with wide variety of doughnut selection. Customer service was excellent! Will be returning again!

they may be good but so are a lot of places. and at those prices… no thanks! Too many far less expensive options out there at the same quality. It’s bagels and donuts… Not gold!

My continuing quest for good bagels in Charleston led me to Joey Bag A Donuts. And at last – seriously good bagels. The store was clean, the staff was friendly and energetic, and the doughnuts looked really good(I resisted – this time – and only got what I went for). They are located literally in my backyard and the bagels were delicious so I will probably go back. My only issue is the same as many other reviewers have noted: the prices. Since I didn’t see any prices posted anywhere, I was shocked when I was told my dozen bagels came to $ 18. I love supporting local businesses but Joey Bag A Donuts will have to be a rare indulgence which is too bad.

Wonderful place to grab a quick breakfast, coffee on the go or a great box of fresh made donuts. It’s family owned and operated. The décor is wonderfully warm and friendly. It’s a must see for locally owned business in Mount Pleasant

More expensive than most donut places, but oh so worth it! They have crazy different donuts that are amazingly yummy!

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. And I tried. The donuts themselves are extremely good. Very light dough, fresh, and delish. What was disappointing however, were the toppings. There were four M+Ms on an M+M donut. The peanut butter cup was iced in vanilla icing with a half of peanut butter cup in the middle, so it didn’t really taste like peanut butter cup at all. The chocolate iced with sprinkles did have sprinkles on the whole donut which was perfect. The donut that completely made my week was the maple bacon donut. WOW. Was that good! They are made fresh to order which makes them even better. I also ordered an iced caramel macchiato which was ridiculously good, probably one of the best I’ve ever had. The place was clean, staff extremely friendly, but prices a bit steep. I wouldn’t mind paying so much if the donuts were more gourmet, but would definitely visit again when we are in town for the maple bacon donut!

I have no choice but to give Joey Bag A Donuts 5 stars! I go here way too much for bagels and coffee. While the donuts are good; Joey’s got the best bagels in town. Joey’s also kicks butt when it comes to good coffee; while I stick with the regular coffee, they also have espressos, cappuccinos, frappaccinos, and many other specialty drinks. The staff here is some of the friendliest around! They always greet you with a smile, remember your name, and are always on the ball. Even when the line is out the door I’ll wait in it just to get a delicious bagel and coffee!

Great bagel sandwich! And the dirty chai I had was nice and strong. The best is the customer service and that’s what keeps me coming back to places. The girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful and you can tell she loves working here. I enjoyed her enthusiasm!

My fiancé and I are here vacationing for the week at Isle of Palms. We saw Joey’s on an Internet video as one of the Best of 2012 so we decided to take a drive over. It was Thursday mid-morning, not too busy. The place is small, in a good way, with bar seating along the windows, a coffee station and two large glass display cases. We got there at 11am, an hour before close, so we expected a limited selection. There were a couple families sitting and eating. We were the only people needing to order. We ordered an everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese, 3 donuts, and 2 coffees, paid for our order, then sat. 5 minutes later we were called for our coffees, which I went up and got, but no bagel or donuts. A woman walked in with a child, who one of the employees knew, she ordered a donut… one of the ones we ordered(the only one left) and got it, then left. At this point, we have been waiting at least 10 minutes without food and watching one of the only donuts we wanted walk out the door. I went to the register to ask about our food and it became a clown act. The original hostess had done something with our ticket, but decided to go clean the coffee area, while the one working the register did her best to push me off to a 3rd hostess. I finally got a bagel, but had to remind them of 2 of the donuts I ordered. Then I was refunded for the third, which was fine, but the attitude was less about making right and more about shutting me up and getting me out the door. The food and coffee were excellent. From that standpoint I would recommend Joey’s. But from a service standpoint, they need to be a bit better. I would hate to show up when it’s really busy with that kind of attention to detail, because I would be sadly disappointed.

Wait staff are very pleasant. They have a fun location. We were looking for breakfast and discovered they only sold bagels for their breakfast sandwiches. A bit limited … but still good. A small inventory of donuts in their showcase. Lots of coffee choices!

It’s everything you want in a coffee/doughnut/breakfast place. It’s very clean in there, everything you can ingest is wonderful, and the people are bubbly with all smiles. I’d come here every day if I could. The reason I won’t is because their prices are ridiculous. I mean seriously ridiculous.

They don’t have any prices listed. The food was okay but not spectacular. The ordering was awkward due to lack of pricing.

I completely agree with other reviewers that the donuts and bagels are overpriced! A cheese bagel with cream cheese – over $ 5! I will say that the bagel was delicious, and the donuts are beautiful. The service was also excellent. I also like that it’s locally owned. I guess the Mt Pleasant market can afford these prices! For me, it will be a rare visit!

I had the breakfast sandwich with a hash brown and a mocha. Both were delicious and the people that work here are warm and friendly and seem to have developed friendships with their regulars. Will come back to try the maple bacon donut!

Delicious and friendly. What more could I ask for? The donuts were fresh, dense, and tender(not just full of air like some places!) Wish they had a location in Cincinnati

Came here on a recommendation right after a night shift. It’s in my neighborhood but never went be caused I assumed it was crap & am not a great lover of donuts. However I went to try the coffee. Wow! I’m a known coffee snob & this met my expectations. I also got a bacon egg & cheese bagel. It was fantastic. Friendly staff family owned & I will definitely be back. $ 10.40 for quality all the way. A very nice surprising treat.

After my last visit, I sadly need to knock Joeys down a peg. The food is great and I love the people there. The family are all so nice every time I see them so I hate to say it but, it’s getting way too expensive. I’m not sure if it has actually changed much in price over time slowly or if I am just realizing it more after my last visit. I went in and ordered two ham, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches, a medium Iced Caramel Macchiato, and a small Frappuccino with caramel and sea salt from the specials board. That makes two specialty drinks(one being a small) and two breakfast sandwiches and the total came to $ 22.46. I then added a $ 2 tip, because the staff is great, bringing my total to just under $ 25. Is it just me or does that seem insane? I think it might be time to evaluate the prices.
