Yummy! Got spaghetti with vodka sauce, came with a side salad, also got the rice ball, hazelnut gelato and a cannoli! It was a big lunch but very delicious. My husband helped me with some of it. He got the meatball sub and enjoyed it too. Good portion and great taste. Will be going back

My roomie said it was the best sandwich he has ever had! The man knows his food trust me. He had the Diablo I had the Classico. Took some hand made, on the spot, calzones. Owner ensured us it’d be the best calzone we ever had. Not trying to brag, but living in Jersey City, near Hoboken the home of the Submarine Sandwich, I can tell you this was a great Sub sandwich. Had chocolate biscotti had nice anisette flavor to it. And the price was like 7 $ for a loaded 10“sub! Def recommend it. Keep up the good work!

Great food, fast service, friendly people to help guide you through the Italian items they have on their menu. Great gelato selection to choose from for dessert.

I don’t get all of he five star reviews. We came here with a party of six and spent ten minutes trying to figure out the menu with google translate. We gave up and went somewhere else to eat. It’s fine if you want your menu of Italian food to be in Italian. But at least include translations or descriptions. I’m not just going to guess and hope for the best.

It is not a stretch to say this place has the best Italian subs around. I wish I lived closer because I would love to try their whole menu.

Very nice place the staff smile at you when you walk in the food very descent the prices are right on the money and the music they have playing in the restaurant is in Italian language very original the reason I give 4 **** is because the table wasn’t clean other than that I do recommend this restaurant. Great food great service!!!

We love Avanti! The service is always great and their food is on another level! I haven’t had anything bad! If you get a sandwich, the focaccia bread is a must! So delicious! We have catered many parties from them as well!

I so wanted to like this restaurant after all the positive reviews. I ordered the turkey sub and tiramisu as take out. The sub had mustard this was not in the description nor did I request it. I despise mustard. Seeing as this was takeout and I was already back at my play of work, I decided to try and eat it any way. The bread tasted dry and was tough. I could not finish the sandwich. Next was the tiramisu, for an authentic Italian place I would expect mascarpone to be used. It tasted like heavy cream. The top row of lady fingers were dry as well. I am disappointed, I so wanted to like this place. They were quick and courteous in store.

Been coming to this place since it first opened year across the street. Being here is like being with family Tony and Mario are amazing hosts, always friendly and never shy about offering up a free espresso. The reason I keep coming besides the above is because you cannot find a better combination of good food at a good price anywhere and obviously customer service is first class. Kudos to tony and family for maintaining such high standards without sacrificing quality and keeping very reasonable prices. I will keep coming and recommending Avanti to anyone i can. Their catering service is also second to none!

I phone ordered for pick up. Bow tie pasta with vodka sauce and added sausage and meatballs. Pasta was done to perfection. Enough sauce to cover all the pasta. 2 big meat balls and one large sausage. Both were really good. Also had the Pesto pasta with Chicken. My son said it was excellent. We had a large amount left over for lunch tomorrow. Also had a rice ball for the first time. It was really tasty. About the size of a baseball. The dinners came with foccacia bread which was so soft and delish. Soup was pasta fagioli. Very good with lots of good stuff in it. Almost a meal in itself with the bread. The employees were nice and welcoming and my food was ready when promised. They have a nice cold case so I ended up bringing some seafood salad home and some Italian cookies. Which are disappearing at a rapid rate here in my house. :) This might be my new go to place.

We just didn’t get it. My mom, who’s 85, was sick last week. So I called Avanti for delivery. I sent her split pea soup, lasagne and a tuna sub. She raved and raved about the best split pea soup ever, loaded with prosciutto and veggies. And she seriously raved for two days, couldn’t wait to get more! She called to find out when she should buy it again, and went out in sub zero weather to get more today. She was so disappointed. No prosciutto, none, watery and not much flavor. We went Saturday, drove 50 mins. Meh. I had the mushy escarole soup which had maybe 7 beans and one piece of thin sliced sausage. I ordered the arancini, which was nuked and ice cold in the middle. We wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ordered the diavolo sub. It came without the Italian dressing or any other condiment. My husband ordered his favourite Italian sausage sandwich. It tasted steamed, certainly not grilled. Kind of mushy. We also ordered onion rings, they were okay, pricy at almost $ 5, and took way longer than the rest of the food.

Definitely keep Avanti’s in mind for catering for any events you have coming up. We have ordered catering from them for years and they always do a fantastic job! We usually order a salad, roasted vegetables, bowtie vodka pasta, and chicken limon. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser and better than any grocery bought wraps! We also go here a lot just for dinner, usually ordering the same stuff that we order with catering. The pasta is to die for. They serve meals with some focaccia bread which I love for its freshness and it has the perfect amount of olive oil in it. They also have a delicious arancini that really fills you up(they’re huge!).

OMG, my wife took me to lunch today, stopped in again, the service is always friendly, I ordered the God Father beef sandwich, and she had the? Can’t remember, but she enjoyed it, and just finished left overs for dinner. This place rocks, for it’s prices, service, and the food flavors. They won’t let you down.

Im not really a fan of Italian food, but I have to say all the food I’ve ever had here is really good. It always tastes fresh and homemade. The marinara sauce they use on their pasta is perfect, its a little sweet with lots of flavor. The only thing I dont really care for are the«toastinos». I totally understand toastino means toasty but the breads a little too toasty for my liking. I always fear that I’m going to break a tooth or lose a crown, so I just stop ordering it. Their breakfast is really good too, sometimes when I’m really hungry in the morning I’ll stop by and pick up a breakfast sandwich.

Went in today for a quick breakfast sandwich. Surprisingly there was a bunch of arguing in the kitchen that was noticeable. The food was fine and maybe because there were less customers there it happened, but kind of a turn off. I am definitely excited to try the pizza though. It looks delicious.

Amazing food and service! I had the bow tie alla vodka and it was incredible. The sauce tasted great and way better than your usual fast food restaurants. It’s a small place and I’m surprised it’s not much busier. It’s definitely a hidden gem and would recommend it to anyone. They also have delicious gelato. I would recommend for dinner or lunch. Also has a our door seating area.

I will point out attitude issues the owners or workers have its kind of getting old I expect to get my money’s worth with customer service and food service. Anyways my food analysts is Sandwiches are good. Calzones are really good only reason I come here since I moved from Cicero. Been here couple of times so get them calzones.

Food is really good but underwhelming service. I get this feeling that they know their food is good and they don’t have to step up their service. I’ve gone here a few times now and every time they are just so rude. So because of this I usually only order from here when coworkers are going to pick up. If their food weren’t so good I would most certainly give them a lower rating and not order from here. They have a wide variety of food from tasty sandwiches to delicious pizza.

In the last year I’ve stopped in a few times opting for a nice sit down lunch during my crazy commutes between the city and burbs. I gotta say, they have really surprised my taste buds. Lately, I’ve been sticking with stuff that’s mostly vegetarian, whether they be pastas, salads or Tostinos(grilled panini sandwiches). I really dig their roasted eggplant and portabello tostinos. When I’m in the mood for something a little different, I like to look into their display case and order randomly. So far, all good stuff.

So my review is for catering only, which they do great! For some reason, I often order from Avanti for office luncheons yet I have never made it there for lunch. I need to work on that, especially seeing as they have an outdoor eating area! In any case, the food is great. We’ve done a variety of different lunches, mostly sandwich-y, but they offer a variety of different breads, meats and cheeses. I mean really, changing from a plain wheat bread to a multi grain ciabatta really dresses up a sandwich. The tortellini pasta salad is fabulous, as are the green salads. Always fresh, always good quality. And we like the cookies too. The delivery has always been on time and the driver has always been professional.
