Beautiful shop, very clean and up to date. Does a good job on nails although I have never had a shop charge me for a nail repair when I was getting a fill before and already paying a good amount of money. My biggest complaint with the place is the staff constantly speaking to each in another language. I feel that is extremely rude and makes me very uncomfortable as I have to wonder if they are taliking about me. That problem alone makes me question whether I want to go back or not.

The full service provided is above and beyond all other salons I’ve visited. The more often you visit, the more you feel like you’re part of the family. The staff and owners are kind and courteous giving their customers full attention. No service is ever rushed, instead you are treated as the only person in the world. It is truly a luxurious experience!
I feel the prices here are extremely fair for the wonderful results. I’ve been to other salons who charge more and I leave with nails that chip a day or two later. At Gem Nails, my manicures and pedicures last! Well worth the money. Plus, the extra massages and exfoliations Gem provides makes their work stand above the standard salons.
I bring my family and friends here and all leave excited to come back to this special little salon and spa.

I have absolutely no complaints about any of the changes the new owners, Liz and Young, have made to this salon. It is clean and comfortable, their staff is warm and accommodating, their prices are reasonable and they have lots of regular and no chip colors! I’ve gone a million times, my husband has gone for pedicures and I’ve taken my young daughter and she loves how they pamper her at Gem. They are, by far, my go-​to nail salon and I love that they’re just a few blocks away… so glad I can enjoy supporting a local business.

I absolutely love gem nails. The entire staff is so friendly and caring. They do a wonderful job on manis and pedis. I will not be going anywhere else. A pedicures and manicures here are so relaxing and they do a beautiful job.

This place is great. I went to a salon in Arlington Heights first and it was a dump. Then I came here and was so pleased. I got a mani pedi and not only did they do an amazing job and were so friendly, it was also inexpensive. I had designs done on hands and feet and they look so great. This is my new nail place for sure — I would recommend it to anyone looking.

I have nothing but good things to say about the people who own Gem Nails. The husband and wife team, Young and Liz, work together with a group of amazing technicians to provide the best service I have ever encountered in a nail salon. The salon and practice is always very clean and they frequently try out new technologies, attend trade shows and classes, and carefully observe what works and doesn’t work all in an effort to provide the best options for their customers. I have been to other places but it’s these little details that keep me coming back. They greet me by name when I come in, the place is always spotless and the new renovation looks awesome. Liz and Young work together as a team all day. She knows my hands and what products are available and best for me and has a sincere dedication to providing a healthy service. I have yet to make it to the door before Young can hold it open for me. They are proud of what they do and it shows. I rarely write reviews but they are absolutely deserving, Gem Nails is the poster child of the value small businesses bring to a community. Thank you so much!

Clean, friendly and a huge selection of Essie and OPI. They took their time and it shows. My nails look awesome. $ 15 for a mani. Can’t complain.

Came here with my mom for the first time. Absolutely fell in love with this place! Everyone is so friendly and kind. It was so relaxing. The music was soothing. I would definitely come back here again

Really wonderful experience. I made a reservation for my sister’s wedding for my sister [the bride], the bridesmaids [there were a total of 4 of us], and the two mothers for a total of 7 individuals. We were all able to attend at the same time and they had enough people working so that no one was ever waiting long for a service. Everyone was nice and very accommodating!
The place upon arrival was very tidy and they had a table with a pink table cloth set up in case we brought drinks/​food to celebrate. The pedicure chairs were a little old but worked perfectly.
The actual service was great. I got a regular mani/​pedi and they did a good job. The shape of my nail was actually perfect and looked amazing, and looked that way for a while! They did a great job with my cuticles [no cuts] and again the shape was really amazing. I cannot wait to go back to get them reshaped.
My sister got a no chip but wanted a particular sparkle has her ‘party nail.’ The woman helping her did a really good and honest job of making it work. The gel polish was not working with the regular polish [that was sparkly] and she noticed it right away and worked very hard to make sure that it was perfect. She ended up taking off the no chip on that particular nail and then just painting it sparkles.
Where they had the fans to dry your nails was right in the center and nicely hidden. They also gave you a massage when you sat down. It was a nice experience and I can honestly say I am looking forward to going back to visit.

I finally have found a salon that does a great job and for a great price! I have been to several salons, all well rated, and have always had a bad experience or came out with unprofessional mani/​pedis. At Gem Nails, I had a great overall experience and my nails look great! My nail tech was Sherry. She did my cuticles properly and took her time throughout. I highly reccomend this salon. All the nail techs were working on others while I was there and they all seemed very pleased; their nails looked great as well! Owner/​manager was very friendly, and gave a neck massage at the end :)

Was hesitant to try at first, but I am glad I Did. Especially because this place is within walking distance from my place. Both times I have been so far, I’ve had good experiences (nails looked great and everything was clean) My new place in the area, for sure. I also got $ 5off with Unilocal check in!! awesome.

Was here a few months ago for a manicure. Had a no chip and requested a simple design from pinterest on my thumbs. The manicurist couldn’t do simple stripes and the design looked like a third grader painted it on… then she tried to pass it on as something I should walk out with. Then I noticed that the paper towel my hands were sitting on was covered in another color nail polish… aka it was dirty. I watch them pull the trimmers and cuticle cutters from the same tray they just did my nails from… which is dirty. Salons need to sanitize that stuff between uses… who knows what transmissible disease the last person had. Will not be going back here.

Love Gem Nails! Not only do my nails look great, but the service we received was so incredible. My 4 year old daughter came along with me, she has mild cerebral palsy and they were amazing with her! Liz, the owner did everything to accommodate my daughter who has difficulty sitting upright. She brought a special cushion and chair for her to sit on and made sure it was secure so my daughter was safe.
Not only did they do that, but my daughter wanted 6 different nail colors and I was trying to get her to pick only one, but Liz was like «no problem!» So they put on all the different colors (2 coats of each color and full top coat) and made her feel like a princess. My daughter sat so still and loved the special treatment she got. I was so happy to find a place with quality service and kind people. Definitely coming here again!

I came here because of the other positive Unilocal reviews. The atmosphere is great here. Great décor, and very clean. The staff was so helpful. I brought my 5 year old and they were very accommodating. I got a regular mani pedi and they did a fantastic job. My 5 year old was also cry pleased! Very large selection of Opi and Essie colors. This is a great local business and will be my new nail salon. A mani pedi is $ 35. They also put paraffin on your heals. This place is definitely worth the money.

Great little nail spa and newly rebranded! Everyone here is welcoming and they do awesome work. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This salon was formerly under different ownership and, while I did go there, I was never happy with the attitude of the owner and some of the nail techs there. Now, the atmosphere is much more friendly and the man, who appears to be the owner, is very accommodating and friendly. My nails turned out great, thanks to Zora, and my daughters enjoyed their manicures and a pedicure too. Their pedicure chairs are as comfy as ever and their prices are competitive with all of the other strip mall nail salons in the area. I will def go back!
