I recently moved to Mt Vernon from the Chicago area in December and had to find a nail salon for gel fills. Of course you always ask for referrals but the funny thing was, everyone I asked was telling me they travel to Salem or Marion because there was not a good one in the area. I decided to give Q & Q Nails a try. I made my appointment asking for a gel fill. Simple enough or so I thought. When I arrived, I again said I was there for a gel fill. The technician was doing things a bit different than I was accustomed to but who am I to question. When all was said and done I was told to go sit at the nail drying table! I said, I don’t understand, there has to be a mistake, I was here for a gel fill. I should walk out of here putting my hands in my pockets without having to dry and with no damage to the finish. The man who I assumed to be the owner was cold and defensive and said«I» hadn’t explained myself right. She showed me the colors and asked what kind of polish I wanted and it was my own fault!!! Really? Not a very kind thing to say to a first time customer trying to find a new salon to visit every 2 – 3 weeks. Well, in their defense, after I explained I didn’t understand their questions or methods, she put a gel coat on and charged me and he said I hope you will give us another chance. Well I did! In January I went back and of course he had to make a comment to pick the right polish! No biggie! I am a big girl and can handle it. I brought a picture of what I wanted. She did a great job. However she did have to redo the design on a couple nails AFTER I explained that when doing a design you do it mirrored so they go opposite directions on hands. I was told, well you didn’t ask for it that way! Once again I just thought, wow. I shouldn’t have to, that is just common sense but ok! My nails did look good so I went back again in Feb because she did understand now. The funny thing was each time, my price was increasing a couple dollars. Well, my end of March visit happened today, April 1st and I guess I turned out to be the«fool»… Although my nails turned out ok, my price increase $ 5 again to $ 43 for a fill with design and the customer service was the WORST ever when I questioned why it was more than last time. Of course HIS answer was that I must have had something different done. Did you get new tips, he said!!! I said no, actually same exact thing? Then he said well that’s the price. He questioned a technician and got really defensive. I was just questioning why it was more? I was having the same thing done each time and would go up each time. I paid my bill, this time only shamefully giving a $ 2 tip instead of my usual $ 5. I figured it went up another $ 5 already. He was extremely rude. I went to car and decided to pull up my bank statement from my phone to show my last charge. Of course it said total charge $ 43.70 including $ 5.70 cash returned. I took my phone in and said, I just wanted to show you that I was not making it up or trying to bullshit you, you can see that last month my charge was $ 38 for same thing and I was given $ 5.70 back for a tip. He right away started being rude again and saying well maybe this, maybe that… These are our prices… Then he went on to say that EVERY time you come in here you complain. I said, what? I never had a problem except the first time and I questioned drying my nails after asking for a gel fill? I have been back 3 times and have been happy and have not complained once. I just had to ask about charge because it was $ 5 more. He started being very rude and I said you are not very good at your customer service, you should not be mean to me because I question something I am paying for? That is not necessary. He said if you don’t like it don’t come back. I said, I can’t believe you would act like this and I left. I was walking to my car and he opened the door and said, Don’t come back!!! DON’T WORRY I WONT!!! I am in the customer service industry and it is ALWAYS about Customer Service!!! I would NEVEREVER treat a client of mine that way. I did not deserve that! He reminded me of the babyish ways of DONALDTRUMP’S lashing out at people! Wow, what is this world coming to! I do not suggest you go here if you like being treated fairly or like a human being.

Best place in town. Only problem is that everyone knows that, so there is usually a short wait. If you don’t want to wait, you can always make an appointment.

TERRIBLE. Said the wait was half an hour, turned into an hour, when we tried to leave they said«no no no 5 more minutes» and put us in pedi baths(basically to trap us there) then it was 20 more minutes-I’m pregnant and by this time was starving and hadn’t been offered anything to drink and I got up and left. I can’t imagine having a more stressful experience or bigger waste of time. Do not go here-do yourself a favor and go to the place out by the interstate-they are at least honest about their wait time.

Super clean, professional, proud of their work! I got a pedicure here and watched another person get a manicure. Half the staff were working on us; the other 3 were cleaning the shop steadily: all the chairs, basins, tools, windows. We were treated very courteously… My toes haven’t been done in 5 months, and they told me «no problem! They will look very nice!» They were right, and the massage chair was a nice bonus. Wish they were in my town!
