Business Owner
Bob and Bambi Deig bought Weinzapfel’s Tavern from Bob’s sister and brother-in law Mary and Gary Weinzapfel. Weinzapfel’s Tavern had been owned by a Weinzapfel from 1946 to 2013 when Mary and Gary retired. Bob and Bambi opened Weinzapfel’s on June 10, 2013, the 1st anniversary of their daughter Becky’s untimely death. Zaps, as it is affectionately known, brought life and laughter back into the Deig family. Zaps is a family owned and operated establishment. Bambi is the manager during the day and daugher-in-law, Amber Deig and Daughter, Brittney Deig are bartenders and managers in the evening hours. Niece, Karen (Weinzapfel) Crow has cooked for Zaps for many years and continues to provide the great tasting food that helped Zaps earn the Courier & Press Gold 2015 Best Tavern Food award. All who work at Zap’s have a history or a story to tell about Weinzapfel’s Tavern.
