Dr Mills and his staff were fantastic! They were so friendly and gentle. I’m going to recommend them to my friends and family.

I have grown up hating dentists, because of the extensive amount of dental work I’ve had done. A trip to the dentist had only ever been equated to pain, and an entire day full of numbness. Switching to Dr. Mills was probably the best thing I’ve ever done for my dental care. Now I go to the dentist less often, because things are done right the first time. I don’t have anxiety attacks before an appointment, so my body doesn’t overcome the Novocaine, and everyone in the office is friendly and has a great sense of humor, so my visits are pleasant. God help me if this man ever retires. Seriously, it shouldn’t be allowed.

I should have written this review much sooner instead of waiting until after I had written a ONE star review for Gentle Dental, but here you have it.
I have had a ridiculous amount of dental work done in my 33 years, including having 20 teeth pulled… yes, 20…16 of them pulled BEFORE having braces for 2.5 years. Needless to say, I still cry when I find out I need dental work because my experiences have been so horrifying… Okay…enough of my credibility story…
I had to have an emergency crown done, I had no insurance, so my mother very graciously volunteered to take me to her dentist. She knows my history and assured me that Dr. Mills was the sweetest, most gentle dentist she’s ever been to… she went to the same dentist as me, so her recommendation had credibility as well.
He was 100% honest about what I needed. He didn’t try to talk me into the most expensive crown and helped me understand the pros and cons of each one… I eventually decided on the gold crown since it would last the longest and you can’t see it when I smile… no need for porcelain, he said! THANK YOU! He also told me the benefit of silver vs. amalgam fillings which ended up biting Gentle Dental in the butt later on… THANK YOU!
The dental work: Gentle, compassionate, and all of those adjectives you’re hoping can be said about the person poking around in your mouth with sharp stuff. Absolutely the epitome of professional.
If Dr. Mills was a provider in my network, I would have him remodel the entire kitchen and gladly pay every penny of my co-​pay.
Of all of the 1 star reviewed dentists I have seen in my network, be glad that dentists like Dr. Mills exist. He’s worth every penny.

After various harrowing dental experiences (sadistic hygenists et al.) I finally found Dr. Mills in an unassuming little woodsy office in Mountain View. His receptionist Arlene and assistant Kristi are both friendly and efficient, and Dr. Mills is up on the latest technology, experienced, and professional. I went to him wishing to feel less pain during routine cleanings, and he promised and delivered this via sonic cleaner (no scraping). He subscribes to the friendly-​pat-​on-​the-​shoulder type of greeting, intending I believe to establish a calm connection before proceeding; I can vouch he doesn’t touch you anywhere else but your mouth. He’s done fillings, cleanings, and veneers for me, all with excellent results except for one filling that partly fell out and which he fixed the next day without charge. He has shown good judgment in his approach, opting for a conservative wait-​and-​see attitude when appropriate rather than wanting to do procedures willy-​nilly.
