There are massage therapists… and then there is Dani Brown, CMT at Overtime Fitness. One of the smartest decisions in my current life was to allocate money for massages when I joined Overtime gym. There was no pressure from anyone there to do so and I am not Mrs Got Rocks. But my intuition said that working on my vitality, movement, energy, balance, muscular tone and girth was going to b e a long dedicated process. If I tried to get these stiff old bones and muscles moving too quickly without some kind of prep, I would progress slowly and very painfully. Dani has been essential in helping me make the transition from rust bucket to robusta. I started out barely able to do the treadmill or the simplest core exercise with the trainer. Within 3 months of persistence and massage, I am now doing yoga, zumba, cardio, all sorts of funny core maneuvers and boxing. Besides really knowing anatomy, Dani’s gift of creating a healing environment of scents and sounds and connecting to her client’s energy is extraordinary. She deserves the T for” therapy” in the CMT. I have come to appreciate and honor my own body that has carried me around and allowed me to navigate this world rain or shine for 62 years. Dani’s massages are my way of finally saying Thank You to my hardworking body.
