Dean Design Landscape Architecture

We couldn’t be more pleased with Dean Design. A few years ago we decided to remove our front lawn and create an outdoor seating area so that we can enjoy our new drought tolerant the garden. Leslie created a beautiful landscaping plan, which included both hard and soft scape. She worked within our budget and help facilitate the construction with our landscape contractors. The end result is amazing and we get a ton of compliments. We now have a much more useable yard than before, one that is water saving and lovely to look at! Leslie is very timely, professional and easy to work with. She has a great eye for design and what would work given any constraints (time, money, space, etc). We have hired Leslie this year to help us implement a similar plan for our backyard.

My husband and I chose Leslie to prepare a landscape and planting design for our fairly large backyard. The job required clearing a LOT of the «jungle» that had grown there in prior years. It also required that Leslie stay within a pretty small budget, and propose ideas that my husband would install/​plant himself (i.e., no contractor or other workers to implement her design). Leslie delivered beautifully on all fronts: she was very skilled at listening to our needs and navigating through sometimes conflicting desires of my husband and myself; she has an excellent eye and offered great ideas to expand our existing deck and install a piece of outdoor art that plays off the colors of our interiors; she proposed plants that I would love to look at, but also that could survive strong sun and our multiple dogs! She sent me links to various websites, so I could review various plants, outdoor art, hardscape materials, etc. She was always timely with her deliverables: a true pleasure to work with. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.

Leslie has done both a full landscape plan following a remodel as well as a side yard replan for us after we decided to put in a patio. For both jobs, she worked with us to understand the look that we were going for, then developed and reviewed initial plans with us to share alternatives and help us make choices. She worked well with the landscaping company we chose to make sure we got what we wanted. Our patio is in a confined space, but the design she came up with flows well and now we have the outdoor living space we wanted. Leslie is reliable, honest, and direct in addition to doing quality work, so we are very satisfied.
