Strike 1 — He did not tell me I had a small anomaly in a previous test, just mentioned it offhand while justifying another procedure. I like being told what the results of tests are, especially anomalies. Strike 2 –When he was dictating his report, he said the patient did not have pain in a different part of the body. I raised a finger to interrupt, pointing out that we had not discussed that part of the body, and in fact I have quite a bit of pain. He did not apologize or admit in any way that he had made that up. Strike 3 — When I asked for a copy of his report he said(and I am quoting literally here), «No.» When I replied in astonishment that it was a law that I could see my medical records, he said yes I could see all the records I wanted, just not that report at this time because the way he was sending it to the other doctors would not work for me. He did not take me to his assistant’s desk to tell her to, e.g., make a copy for me or give me a record request form, which is what other doctors have done. You’ve heard the old joke: What’s the difference between god and a surgeon?, God doesn’t think he’s a surgeon. I haven’t had surgery by this guy, but I trust he is a fabulous surgeon.
